  1. I was guilty of being a big advocate of pushing Gordon up to MLB a month or so ago. But Yikes! Anyone watch these games? I know the company line is that he burns out late in the season, but has he been lost at the plate a la Sano....mechanics problems? Injury? Seems like there must be something else going on than just fatigue alone....
  2. Wiel….just....keeps....going......that sample size is getting bigger by the day...at AA...by the way.....yay....oh kaaay?! Good to see a player who is not a top-prospect busting his butt to maximize his skills to become one. He is my favorite twins story of the year so far. I would really enjoy a detailed profile on him in TD (why has been so successful this year.....new swing, more patience, new batting stance, new launch angle, a bat with a lighting bolt etched in it? inquiring minds want to know) I'm sure the TD writers have plenty of free time on their hands to make this happen
  3. Wow, just, wow....crappy play, poor effort, AND inexplicable corresponding moves all in the same day?! Once again, be still my beating heart. This team needs to at least pair things down to three or less major glaring errors in judgment on their roster before it is even worth the time to comment. Not sure I see that happening again this year so, uh, peace, love, and happiness to all! (and SKOL Vikings!)
  4. E-Twins seem to bring it every year. Kudos to the manager and coaches there. Good Lord is Jefferes making a mockery of that league. I know his is old for the competition but still fun to see!
  5. Oh this happened.....the FO signed Belisile and Molitor continues to use him.... So....uh....not only did this happen, it is going to happen again and again before the season is through.
  6. "I really don’t care about his production however. He dominated at Double-A, and there’s been some questions surrounding his bat ever since he was drafted. Allowing him to get in the field, settle into a new role, and get used to the rigors of big league baseball is a must. The more high-end pitching he faces now, the less of a learning curve there should be expected in the season ahead." YES! THIS! Wonderfully stated and I couldn't agree more. It's been a rough season for many reasons that the FO does not control BUT they control what to do with the current situation. Get the young guys much needed experience.
  7. ooops….make that next year's FOURTH PICK.... LET'S STILL DO THIS!
  8. Only TWO GAMES OUT of the the 3rd pick in next year's draft! LET'S DO THIS!
  9. Grossman batting AND in the field...... oh be still by beating heart!!!!! If only they had him back in the lead off position, we would have had the trifecta! There is always tomorrow though, because with Grossman apparently, there will always be a tomorrow
  10. Dear FO, We are worried and confused. If you cannot find a roster spot on a non-playoff contender for Romero, what chance will any of us have ever?! Please clarify or trade us at the earliest possible opportunity. Humbly Yours, The Entire Twins Minor league Pitching Staff (signatures found in supplemental on line material)
  11. I give this game a slow---golf----clap.... Good Lord....how many more times must we endure Grossman in the lead off position?! If the FO does not want to release their "Designated Something (TBD)" then please do not embarass the team right out of the gate with him batting lead off.... Advanced Metrics are great, but you still need to be able to see the forest through the trees
  12. In honor of the late great Tom Petty, the Twins are free....free fallin'
  13. After pouring over advanced metrics, I have come up with a nuanced opinion about Romero's demotion in this lost season...… Booooooooooooooooooooo (Deep breathe) BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO (passed out)
  14. Also down of the farm: Rortvedt is looking VERY good at a position we desperately need. That is where I have my irrational hope right now so don't burst my bubble (I'm still concerned that there are residual issues with Mauer's latest setback which will eventually come to light. These things don't fully resolve in a couple of weeks. if you live in MN, you should really get out to see him ASAP for the rest of us. We were lucky to have him)
  15. I say again, Romero being sent down is simply rediculous. This team is not going to the WS. Let him figure things out in the MLB.
  16. Will Ferrell on SNL "Do you know that this song needs?! More Cowbell!" Paul Molitor with Bullpen: "Do you know that this game need?! More Belisle!"
  17. Dear Twins Daily, I cannot believe that I'm on an MLB roster with like 4 people in line for demotion before me..... And apparently they have no intention of bringing up anyone from the minors anyway! (shhh, don't tell anyone but THIS-IS-AWESOME!) Super Stoked, Motter
  18. Dear FO, Please disregard D.C. Twins negativity.... We are so thankful for your enployment as we are quite certain that we would not have lasted this long on another MLB roster and know there are no other MLB roster spots waiting for us if our tight bond is ever to break. Forever Yours, Grossman, Wison, and Belisle aka "The Triple Threat" PS. We made up "The Triple Threat" ourselves. We think a hard core nickname may buy us a few more weeks on the MLB roster.
  19. …and as long as the FO is in the enlightening mood, maybe they could free me of my ignorance surrounding the advanced metrics surrounding the Belisile signing.
  20. I'm sure Grossman is a 'Designated' something..... I just haven't been able to figure out what.....maybe the FO can enlighten me!
  21. Actually a big Gonsalves fan.... but 5.5 BB/9 innings and 4.8 innings per start... yikes....might be further away from MLB than I'd like
  22. For those still keeping track at home, Grossman and Wilson are still on the MLB roster....sigh
  23. Not all people/arms are the same Not all innings are the same Not all pitchers have the same mix of pitches Not all pitches stress the arm the same Ergo, innings limitations are ridiculous. Pitchers need to be followed closely for the earliest signs of fatigue (drop in velocity, change in mechanics, even small amounts of pain in the pitching elbow/shoulder, loss of control) and shut down quickly at the earliest warning signs. "sabermetrics" will catch up to this in the near future and there will be intricate algorithms to dictate these decisions .
