  1. Well, at least we can all be thankful that Rocco got both of the FO's pet projects into the lineup today for their token strike outs! Gallo and Luplow.... you keep doing you... the Rocco and the FO are sooooo proud of you!
  2. Let. All. The. Kids. Play! Youth has been the spark plug. Even when they don't perform well, they are infinitely more entertaining than some of the veterans clogging up the roster!
  3. If the Twins 'need' Luplow for anything... we are in deep trouble :)
  4. "That would however leave the Twins lacking for a quality RH outfield bat" Thats OK... they are already lacking a quality RH outfield bat with Luplow on the roster... And at least with him off the roster, it will remove the temptation for Rocco to inexplicably use him #3 in the batting order.
  5. Great win. Lewis a star in the making. Dallas a veteran presence. BUT..... For the love of all baseball, Luplow should NEVER be the 3-hitter anywhere except maybe a beer league. There is no amount of gaslighting 'sabermetrics' that can justify that decision. Psst Rocco, repeat after me... 'I will never write Luplow's name anywhere above 6th in the order for the rest of the season and will ignore any nonsensical output on my spreadsheets that suggests I should place him higher if it ever happens again... " Good chat...
  6. Is this kid a legit prospect? Anybody have a little scouting report on him to share?
  7. Looks like Dobnak needed a large glass of Honey Nut Berrios after that start. I look forward to Martin as our starting CF next year! Lee is starting to figure out AAA already.... kid is a quick learn!
  8. Was keeping Gallo on the team a handshake deal with Borras to get Correa to sign? Did Gallo perform a Jedi mind trick on the Twins FO? Did someone come back from the future to tell the FO office that the entire fate of the world depended on them keeping Gallo on the team? At this point, it is all on the table... except of course... because he makes this team better....
  9. I could care less if Luplow has options left or not.... he is less than replacement level.
  10. Lots of observations: 1. Julian, Lewis, and Wallner need to play every. single. day. Jeffers probably needs to join this group playing every day being DH when not C. They are young and clearly the spark plugs for our success. (by every day.... I mean at least 150 games a season... sporadic days off will be needed but not scheduled) 2. Our SP has obviously been our bedrock this season 3. I still have absolutely no idea why Luplow and Gallo are on this team. Options at AAA could not be worse, may be better, and would at least get development and provide the organization much needed information. 4. What the hell happened to Kepler? His performance seems to have a flavor of development and not just a simple heater. I love to see it, but it would be interesting to know the why.... As he came up (and for probably too long after) I espoused that he would develop into a 3 hole hitter and be the heart of our offense (yep there is embarrassing documentation of this somewhere in the TD archives).... That is what he is hitting like now.... I know that he will not hit at this level always, but he does seem to have figured something out. 5. Polanco is going to be one tough decision. My opinion changes almost daily :)
  11. All right fess up.... who pissed in Vanimal's cheerios this morning.... own up and apologize!
  12. Not an oddity... superior command has always been a reliable pathway to great pitching results. The question is how often he will have that superior command.. because when he doesn't it will get U-G-L-Y and quick
  13. I dread the return of Buxton to the DH position. That makes me sad to say, but it is true. He makes the team worse when he is DH plain and simple. But, they will put him back there because of the contact.... so sad....
  14. Not exactly a Hot Take by any stretch of the imagination...
  15. The elephant in the room is that the offense has also benefited greatly from removing Buxton as the DH. I am a huge fan of Buxton, but he hurts this team at DH. I see Julian as our playoff DH He needs to stay on the IL until he can play CF.
  16. Well, I think it is fare to say that they won 2 of 3 despite Gallo, not because of him!
  17. I see you point... but I would rather see a AAA backfill get a chance... it could not be worse, could be better, and certainly would be more valuable experience!
  18. Gallo's inevitable 2-3 S0 per game were apparently required at the top of the order today! I've been following baseball for a looooong time and have never seen a 'contending' team stick with a futile player for so long. (much less any other team for that matter) Shame-proof up in the FO apparently. Great to get the win though! :)
  19. The FO needs to stop rolling dice and assess their internal assets properly. This 'move' was absolutely ridiculous both for the short term and long term.
  20. "Unable Unwilling to acquire a right-handed hitting outfielder at the trade deadline..." (I fixed that for you!) Buck to the DL (I assume)... finally..... Only a 2 months late to even the most casual of observer 🙄 As far as this 'move'.... I agree with Parfigliano..... it is embarrassing that the FO even wasted the time to think about this acquistion much less make it. What a Sh- Show
