  1. Astros read your article and grabbed him.
  2. Abreau will be 36 years old when the season starts. If he was the final piece of putting a contender on the field this next year, could be a good move to sign him. But that's not the situation the Twins are in and I think resources are better spent on a shortstop, catcher, righty hitting corner outfielder that can also field and of course pitching.
  3. And he has a major league era of 0.00. The man can do it all.
  4. A most assuredly possible maybe, but it looks like MR. Renfroe is to remain with the Sudsmen.
  5. Possible that Renfroe might be non-tendered by the Brew Crew?
  6. I think we have enough "defensively challenged" hitters to fill the DH role, but improving offensively against port-siders should be a priority. I miss the days when Kirby Puckett was a one-man wrecking crew against lefties.
  7. Will any team sign him to a major league contract? If its a performance based-laden minimum commitment deal, why couldn't it be with the Twins? If he can re-find some plate discipline he could be a good complementary RH power bat for DH-1B-3B, but then again he actually has a higher OPS vs Righties so maybe not. Projections for 2023 aren't kind.
  8. I can't believe we used 38 pitchers. That's an insane number of arms to be plied at the major league level. The 1970 Baltimore Orioles won the world series and used a total of 12 pitchers all year. The 1974 Oakland A's won the world series using 11 pitchers all year. Maybe part of the decline of the popularity of baseball is the use of so many players and loss of personal identity in a baseball game. Also, according to FanGraphs relief pitchers accounted for only about 9-10% of the value (in wins above replacement) that all position players and pitchers created last year. And yet, they occupy about 25 percent of roster slots. Relief pitchers are eating baseball alive, lol.
  9. God bless you Sir for helping a fellow in need.
  10. I have to disagree with you on this point, well, here in New Hampshire at least. Most of the people I encounter are probably moderates on most issues. I think it seems the extremists rule the day because they get the headlines. News today is really just entertainment and propaganda and extremism sells. I feel like a dying breed as a fiscal conservative since we now have a fiat currency and print as much money as we want and spend even more. May the lantern bearers of truth, justice and the American Way burn bright.
  11. Ronny Henriquez isn't a big guy but he has a live arm with some pretty good stuff. If he can keep his walks down he could surprise.
  12. I wonder how he is with the three-two flu? ?
  13. Hmmm... my defense calcs give the 1B Gold Glove to Paul Goldschmidt (STL) and Ryan Mountcastle (BAL), Luis very middle of the pack, but better than Miranda. Vlad for a GG . . . really? I've got Vladdy pegged for the worst "D" at 1B for any player playing more than 250 innings. Worst of the worst? Harold Ramirez (TBR).
  14. Pitch framing is more about the direction the catcher has to move his glove ( toward the strike zone or away from it) to catch the pitch. The glove moving back to strike zone does make a borderline pitch look better than it might otherwise. Try umpring, its not always so easy.
  15. Already the best major league player from Forest Lake. ?
  16. Nice job. No shortstop? Don't think Fulmer is worth having back? No Larnach? Also, we might just see The Dobnak in a Twins uni next year.
  17. The only way Judge gets "pursued" by the Twins is if he steals a jar of pickled herring from Falvey.
