  1. From the game thread: 4 hours ago, CRF said: Oh no...bases loaded! Yikes! 3 hours ago, OvertheHill said: I hope we’re not getting Pagan’d - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I think this pretty much sums up the game.
  2. Kirilloff up from St. Paul and back in the lineup and Farmer in at 3B seems to have charged the offense. Some of the outburst is probably coincidence as guys were due to breakout at some point here, but so far I'm liking the allignment. Now, is Buxton ever going to play CF?
  3. The Vazquez & Gordon strikeouts in the 10th inning with Solano at 2B were horrendous.
  4. I consider it more "persuasion" than cheating. Cheating would indicate that it's against the rules . . . it is not.
  5. I fixed it. Must have been the elation of winning 2 straight at the Yank.
  6. It seems the last few years the Twins dug themselves a hole early in the season. Hopefully this hot start can put us on the right foot to a really good year.
  7. I like the aspects of the speed game. Having guys that can steal bases can mean more than actually stealing bases. The stolen base threat on first base means the defense having to hold the runner, thus opening up the right side of the infield. The shortstop has to play closer to the bag if he is going to be the receiver of throws from the catcher. It affects the pitcher's concentration, timing and pitch selection. And on defense, the faster guys tend to have more range, unless your name is Lonnie Smith.
  8. Thats a short amount of time to acquire 15 ballclubs. Hopefully what ever business model they apply to the Saints doesn't screw it up.
  9. I think Jeff Hoffman will make the cut. Post Ejection Edit: Or maybe not.
  10. Never under estimate our willingness and ability to over react to just about anything. 😀
  11. Dobnak had ligaments called pulleys in his right middle finger rupture over the past two years. From Dr. Jonathan Cluett: - - - - - - - - Finger Pulleys Everyone has structures in their fingers called digital pulleys (doctors often use the words "digit" and "finger" interchangeably). These digital pulleys are specialized structures that hold the tendons against the bones of the fingers. Without these pulleys in the fingers, a problem called bowstringing of the tendons would occur. Treatment If there is bowstringing of the tendons, then more careful management of the injury needs to occur. This does not always mean surgery is necessary, but there are specialized splints and therapy techniques that can allow the pulleys to heal properly. Only in situations where there are multiple pulley ruptures or if there is delayed treatment should surgery be necessary. As far as returning to activity, this varies significantly with the severity of the injury. With mild pulley strains, the full activity can be resumed as soon as swelling and pain have subsided. For full ruptures that are being treated non-surgically, duration of treatment is typically between one and three months. For people who require surgical reconstruction of a pulley injury, there may be restrictions for up to a year from the time of surgery. - - - - - - - - If I understand correctly, Randy chose rest and rehab (plus a cortisone shot) versus surgery since there isn't any precedent for baseball players having such a procedure and resuming their careers. From RotoWire: "Dobnak's oft-injured finger has been pain-free all winter, and he's been throwing bullpen sessions without issue, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. "I think we're way over the hump now. I've been down here for a month. I threw live Friday, that was probably my 10th bullpen," Dobnak said. "I've been slinging it fine." Dobnak does not have great velocity, but he generated ground balls at a high rate before his injury. His success was largely due to his sinker, and the Star Tribune report says he's had to modify the pitch with more horizontal break due to the damaged finger." I'm one Twin's fan pulling for him. Don't dis The Dobnak.
  12. Agreed.
  13. At least the Nationals signed Colomé to a minor league deal and we don't have to worry about that!
  14. Improving his baserunning awareness and throwing decisions will help.
  15. Send Kent Hrbek to visit Carlos. He can sit on him until he agrees to sign a Twins contract. Just ask Frank Viola.
  16. Also, New York is a BIG market and the Mets are stacked to make a World Series run. I think Carlos wants to play there.
  17. Hey wait a minute, did you know Gallo can play third base?
  18. Oh, and not to add insult to injury here, but The $11 million Gallo will make represents the most he will have made in one season.
  19. A second baseman with dubious fielding ability no doubt.
