    How does their strikeout rate compare to league average? I mean, every hitter strikes out about once per game nowadays.

    Never worry about having too many good players. Especially with a 162 game season.

    I agree with everything you say here. Unfortunately, that 10 days of mediocre to bad starts from the rotation put them in this position. When you don't get quality starts it creates a cycle of roster moves like this. I think we're stuck with two mop-up pitchers until an injury or recovery forces another move.

    I'm glad about the win, but this victory has the same issue many of the season's early win's had: all the runs are coming on HRs. They need to start hitting with runners on base.

    I wish he was better at 2B. It would set up the Twins well to rest Dozier in the second half.

    No vets are going anywhere before May...though that's only a week away.

    I would like to see Kepler and Morrison switched in the lineup though.

    Quality starts are a terribly named statistic, but probably the most important. Any bullpen does okay if the starters can consistently give you 6 innings. The Twins need one more starter. I wish I knew who it was, since Romero is on an innings limit this year. Maybe Romero can start now and move to the pen when Santana returns or something. The offense is another situation. They'll get it going, but it's painful to wait.

    Can a DH come into the field as a pitcher? Has it happened? (I'm thinking it could in Anaheim this year.)

    I don't remember a mid-inning position player coming in to pitch.

    Find me a minor leaguer who doesn't have mixed/bad reviews of their defense. Fundamentals are important, but most players truly master it from getting experience at the highest level. From Dozier to Morneau to Koskie to Gaetti to a million others, infield defense seems like it usually gets better once a player has been in the bigs for a couple of years.

    They'd better ask LoMo first.

    I wasn't a fan of the LoMo signing in the first place. Mostly because of his personality, but also he's had a very inconsistent career. Hopefully he proves me wrong as the season progresses.

    Suzuki seems like a nice guy and the staff liked him. But I'd trade his 3 or 4 C+ at bats per game for Butera's D- at bats and A defense for 27 outs any day. Castro is a nice point in the middle, where his bat doesn't kill the offense but he's still a strength on defense. The catcher always has the ball in his hand, and it affects the outcome of the game more than most positions. I never realized how much until last year.

    I'll never understand Molitor's bullpen usage. I see the case for Hildenberger since the game was still close and for Rodney since he's barely pitched, but why send out Reed with a 4 run lead?

    If he makes the roster, how many times will he pitch this year?

    I haven't paid attention, is Kinley likely to go multiple innings/mopup if he makes the roster? I'd assume so given Rule 5 history, but not everyone (Tonkin) is built for multiple innings. I'd guess it's harder on the flamethrowers, though I have no proof to that claim.

    I wouldn't read too much into the Sano situation. They can make another roster move when that's announced.
