    I'm actually enjoying the Sox announcers. It's amazing how enjoyable a broadcast can be without Hawk in the booth.

    Lol, one of th Sox announcers sounds really appalled that Hughes kept that little part of bone that was cut out. I think he was about ready to say , 'Ish.'

    I love it that we are talking baseball in game threads, actually. For one, I like to talk baseball. Two, and most importantly, it means the Twins are giving us some good baseball to talk about for a change! As Mike mentioned last night, it's kind of the trade off ... but I'll take that trade off if it means winning baseball! The minute we start losing, IF we start losing, I'll be happy to go back to as many off-topic topics people can manage to throw out there.

    Ah ... too bad ... like reading about that kind of inspirational type stuff

    I think there are a lot of fielders who initially don't get a good read. You don't know what the conditions are with the wind, rain, lights. Most fielders who would initially take a step back then recover would never get to that ball. The fact he can quickly reassess and still make a play makes it a great defensive play in my book.

    As much as there was 'gnashing of teeth' with the roster, I think we are also over-jubilant with one win. Yes, great to see Sano make the plays he needs to and hit a bomb. Santana was no less than I expected, to be honest. Glad the bullpen held up for him, but our offense (and, well, KC's bullpen) gave us a good lead to go on. Buxton will be making plays like he did all season. He is going to be fun to watch, and one of the reasons I'll be watching all season. I hope his bat comes around, and I think it will, but man, he is a defensive god. So much to be happy about in what we saw in that opening win. That said, and while Polanco made the plays he did, I still think his arm looks ... weak. As long as he makes the plays he should throughout the season, I'll be very happy, but I am still holding reservations there.
