    Moderator note: 1. Please keep to the topic: domestic abuse/violence at the hands of professional athletes. We aren't talking about serial murderers and capital punishment. 2. Please do so respectfully, i.e. --Stop trying to control the discussion and let others have their say without being dismissive. --Stop with the tone and put downs when you disagree. It's a bit ironic that of all topics, I have to put up a note in this one. Control and put downs are part of the subject matter, so step back a bit and follow the above directions.

    PM Brock Beauchamp. If you can get a screen shot, great; if not, let him know what position on the page it is and exactly what it's advertising.     And now another one ... still State Farm but a different ad. Same spot. And I finished typing that and waited 5-10 seconds for it to catch up with me.

    I'm experiencing periods of slowness ... even in typing let alone posting. And I'm getting audio ads ... and can't seem to mute them, either. Just had a State Farm ad go by in the upper right-hand position.

    Glad I went to the movies instead. Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children was fantastic, excellent, really darn good.

    1. I don't remember ever asking my parents for spending money, ever. I didn't really have a need for 'fun' money as much of my free time was spent practicing over partying. Not that I never partied, just well below the average I'm sure. I did work, picking up shifts here and there when advertised with food service; and I had an on-campus job 3 of my 4 years in school. That seemed to be enough. 2. Yes, well ... 3. Hmmm ... no comment. 4. This I could really see you doing and wouldn't be surprised if this were truth. 5. Aww, shucks.

    Would they, could they do this? I like the idea myself. It's not unheard of in my world when there are two positions open, one of a higher title, to offer the 'runner up' the lesser role.

    Yeah. And then there are some of us who can't be made to do anything we don't want to do despite his rules.

    Meh ... I drive my little 6-speed around Chicago. Yeah, it can be a little tedious but mostly it's fun.

    That's actually the civilized drive ... it's the other that isn't so much.

    My Dad had a Chevy truck that was 'three on the tree' ... it was fun to drive, while he still had it.

    I learned how to jump start my car without jumper cables. Get it rolling then pop the clutch. Of course, that wouldn't work on an automatic. But I don't own an automatic, never have. I also used to change my own oil and filter. That was fun ... well, was mostly 'fun' saying I knew how and could and did do it. But there is no need to fuss with that now. Besides, I'm not allowed to do such things in my condo building garage. Beyond that, I let the car's computer tell me when something needs to be checked and/or done. Okay, well, when the low tire pressure light comes on, I can handle that one myself, too.

    Right. None of us knows who does what here. I agree with the general sentiment that no one is 'safe' and that whoever is hired will have to take a look at everything and make decisions/changes where necessary. But this is not a specific discussion on Jack Goin and the 'he can run the benefits database' was a bit mean-spirited, in my opinion. Let's keep the discussion to the POBO possibilities, what you hope/expect them to change, please, without going into a specific discussion on Mr. Goin. Thank you.

    Lol ... I never asked, but in NW Indiana, more likely a Sox fan than anything, probably.
