  1. Yeah ... that's why I think the pop-up was a thing and I was less forgiving of the pick-off ... which ended up not being one, whether right or wrong.
  2. Should Riverbriand and sound logic be mentioned in the same statement? Something seems off to me ...
  3. He knows he did wrong. You see him in the dugout afterwards hitting himself in the head as if you say, 'You goofed.' Let's hope he doesn't do that again. It was not good. I actually think that's worse than the pick-off.
  4. What an awful way to die. Poor thing. Yeah, I feel sorry for an overgrown rodent.
  5. PM Brock about it. And if you are getting any error messages, get a screen capture and send that, too. Also, there is a thread about this in the MinnCentric forum: http://twinsdaily.com/topic/29128-lots-of-website-timeout-errors-in-the-past-4-6-weeks/?do=findComment&comment=728593
  6. I just hope everyone stays healthy as the immediate depth is not strong, IMO. Who would come up? And who would they remove from the 40-man to make that happen? Kinley would be the obvious, or LaMarre, I guess. I just hope everyone stays healthy until Polanco is able to return.
  7. Btw ... if anyone is interested in discussing this issue in more general terms, as in, 'how the game should be played,' and are done commenting on the Twins' responses, Platoon started a thread to do just this, found in the 'Other Baseball' forum. Here: http://twinsdaily.com/topic/29172-to-bunt-or-not-to-bunt-that-is-the-question/
  8. Wow, that is quite a stash at CR! They are going to be an exciting team to follow this year. I just might have to get out of Chicago to see them play (but I might only get as far as Kane Co. or Beloit). And as a reminder, if anyone is still interested, there are many Kernels still available in the Adopt-a-Prospect forum! It's a great way to follow the team and individual players. Check it out! http://twinsdaily.com/topic/28867-round-2-adopt-a-prospect-2018-monday-mar-12/
  9. Not to turn this thread into another discussion on unwritten rules, so I hope no one takes this up, but I chalk it up to stupid, unwritten rules culture. I hope they truly have moved on, but I still think upon further reading, it wasn't as big of a deal to me as I initially thought.
  10. Okay, this is where I draw the line ... Dozier did not say anything about chastising the kid. He said 'I could've said something to him' ... he didn't say 'I was about to scold him.' I think your characterization goes a tad too far. I don't think it's an issue for the players, and I don't think it really was at all to begin with. I think it's been well overplayed in the media. That's what I think.
  11. When I initially read reports on this, I was like, 'What? What is their problem over this? If they think that bunt was bad, then maybe the shift was worse.' Turns out that I think the media presented some of these opinions in a certain way to garner discussion over something that really is nothing and the players themselves don't think anything more of it. Here are some tweets from Marney: It wasn't something the players brought up, but something very specific they were asked to comment on. They gave their opinions, and then it was presented to us in such a way that they were complaining about it after the game, which doesn't seem to be, and isn't, the case.
  12. Oops ... sorry I didn't get the lineups up ... was at the gym and playing tennis ... didn't realize it was an early game today ...
  13. Right. If you are going to put a shift on, expect the batter to try and beat it. That’s playing. I just don’t think the Twins should be annoyed by it, and if they are, then I think the Orioles should be more annoyed. Whatever, game is done, we won, not that big of a deal. Just don’t know why people are talking about it like they are. (Not here, but on Twitter and in the media.)
  14. That’s just it, if you are going to get ‘gimmicky’ with a shift in the first place at that point in the game, you should expect it. Personally I think calling for the shift was kind of dumb. If anyone should be annoyed by that it should be the Orioles. I read a comment on Twitter (which was my mistake to even go there) where someone made a comment about how Sisco should have just hit the ball, play the game the way it was supposed to be played. Well, couldn’t one say that about the shift in the first place? It’s just all dumb.
  15. Why are some ... upset, I guess ... over the 9th inning bunt? With a shift on, what are you going to do? Why put a shift on in the 9th anyway?
  16. Putting my predictions in late: Twins: 89-73, WC Offensive player: Bux Most homeruns: Sano and Dozier tie Starting pitcher: Berrios Relief Pitcher: Reed Rookie: hmmm, Garver
  17. Gibby is definitely the prime subject of the game wrap, for sure. But Rosario's catch ... did anyone notice this tidbit in the Tribune's post game write up? “It hit in here,” Rosario said, demonstrating where the ball struck his glove. “When I went to the floor, the glove [hit] and the ball went up. It was slow motion.” Rosario pantomimed the ball in front of his eyes, and his move to pluck it out of the air with his bare hand. He’s made that play before, sort of. “The outfield coach [Jeff Pickler], he has us practice everything,” Rosario said of an expanded set of drills the Twins instituted this spring. “Sometimes I lie on the [ground] and Pick throws balls at us. A lot of drills.” http://www.startribune.com/postgame-rosario-practiced-juggling-catches-gibson-was-effectively-wild/478474923/ Rosario seems to be saying that that catch was a result of the practice and drills Pikler has put them through. Not sure what to make of it because that seems like a difficult thing to practice let alone replicate and practice, but kudos to Pikler for his outfield preparations.
  18. Crap ... Hildy not looking good to start ... well ... heh ... according to what I see on Gameday.
  19. Yeah ... I suppose ... but giving up two walks ... I did say 'meh'. It's only one game. and the first one at that.
  20. I was actually surprised that there wasn't a pitching change after Kep. But ... meh ... I don't know the Orioles' bp, and it is only the first game of the season ... but a single and two walks?
  21. So, Chief ... how'd you not run out of likes on a thread of this magnitude, especially with Aggies7 participating? My way of saying ... Aggies ... you showed up!
  22. Yes I really don't know ... just had to answer yes.
