    My point wasn't directed specifically at you, despite my quote. It was more rhetorical, as this wasn't even the general premise of the OP and once again, someone brings it up in the course of discussion and then it becomes a thing. I wish I had copy/pasted it TD somewhere, but Dan Hayes on Twitter mentioned that someone asked Falvey if there was ever a discussion about trading Correa and he scoffed in reply. As he should have. It's all moot now, though ... thankfully. Although, when (if) he walks at the end of the season, I'm sure we will see a thread or two on how we should have traded Correa and gotten something for him. But my question will go unanswered, as it has all season long so far, just what did people expect to get? And from whom? My point all along has been ... we did get something for him this season. I think his impact has been huge. And I'm glad here's here, even for the short time we have him.

    No, it isn't. Honestly. Sometimes there isn't a medical solution to body parts that won't cooperate. His surgeon isn't part of the Twins org, and even his surgeon doesn't really know what to do. I'm not sure why, in this instance, there has to be blame on anyone. Whatever the problems, I hope the various entities ... AK, his surgeon, the Twins medical people ... can help find a solution. But sometimes injuries just suck and shorten careers ... to no fault of anyone. Why do you insist on blaming someone here? It just plain sucks.

    Yeah, at face value, one has to wonder. Although, I'm not sure there is a strong track record yet for pitchers recovering from thoracic outlet syndrome. He's had to learn to pitch differently, and I'm, honestly, amazed he's still here and doing okay for a #5 starter. Yeah, wish it would be different, and wish he were piggy-backed with someone (as I think was the initial plan, but injuries to pitchers kind of depleted that plan).

    His doctors outside the Twins doesn't have an answer, either ... I don't think this one is on the Twins.

    Chicago did acquire a RP. But yeah. I said this in another thread, but local reports on the Sox inactivity had the GM stating that they just didn't line up with anyone and that he is as disappointed as the fans. It sounded as if he wasn't willing to deal away their top most prospects, but then didn't have much to offer behind that.

    @Sherry Cerny, nice write up. Question - and maybe this was mentioned in a previous thread discussing the possibilities of a trade for Mahle, but do you know, or heard about the FO having any conversations with Gray, or did Gray have any comments for the FO prior to the trade? Just curious. Read something about Correa saying something to Rocco about López prior to that trade, wonder if Gray gave any thoughts on Mahle.

    Actually, that’s not true. There were a couple of threads, and many mentions about the potential addition of Mahle, And López was also a frequent mention. Both the Reds and the Orioles have been mentioned throughout the season as trade partners and posters commented on who from both teams might fit here. Of course the most often mentioned pitchers, Castillo and Montas, were probably highlighted more on these boards, but given the price we paid, I’m very satisfied with the trades the Twins made. And I never high on Montas so wasn’t disappointed about that one. Do you actually have any specific comments about these trades, which is what this thread is about, or are you just here to make very generalized ‘poo poo on everything’ comment and claim some kind of superior know,edge? And I’m not sure what you predicted, but if your prediction was the Twins would do nothing and acquire no one of significance, your prediction was wrong. Even if we still don’t make the playoffs, your prediction on the trade deadline was wrong, if indeed that’s what you are saying you predicted.

    The Sox did trade for a RP pitcher, I believe. According to news reports out of Chicago, their GM said that they just didn’t line up with anyone, and are as disappointed as fans that they couldn’t add more. However, we are far from pulling away from them. The Sox are getting healthy while we are still struggling with injuries. They have the same issues with an inconsistent lineup that we do.. I think it’s going to come down to who gets/stays healthy from here to the end of the season. We’d better hope that these new additions are enough. That all said, given the landscape of the trade deadline this year, I think we did far better than I thought we would. I think the Twins did very solid.
