  1. You choose or select your favourites. You pick your nose. 🤣 (Couldn't resist.) That said, I'm really only interested in those who will/might make the 26-man roster. The rest? Eh, don't really care. Would rather see our prospects with hopeful futures than maybes. Ynoa and Cartaya might interest me if I see a resurgence from them. Still, not likely either making the roster, but if they prove 'good enough' that is good depth to have and maybe puts them in a 'could help down the road' category if there are injuries or trades.
  2. That’s fine. Many don’t like him, and I’m not suggesting you need to like him. But he was a fine player, so he does have good baseball sense. That doesn’t always translate into being a good manager. Many people here who dislike him as a manager claim he doesn’t know baseball. That’s just not true. There’s a reason that some of the best players of the game don’t always become the best managers of the game. Given the player he was I find some of his managerial decisions even more perplexing. And it’s not because he doesn’t know game. Thats all I’m saying, that I think it’s ridiculous to claim he has no sense of the game.
  3. I think this is a ridiculous comment. Seriously. I’m not suggesting that he’s a great manager, or even good, but he was a very, very good player. You don’t get that way on pure talent alone. I think he has very good baseball sense. But not the best manager sense. It’s unfortunate that his life as a player doesn’t translate as well as a manager.
  4. If there will be it won’t start until into ST
  5. REMINDER: This thread is to track roster moves, only. Who’s up, who’s down, who’s in, who’s out. This is not a discussion thread. Start a thread in the forum for more in depth discussion of any move.
  6. Sadly, the Mucky Duck is closed. Btw, it’s Love Boat Ice Cream, not Love Board. Probably some kind of typo.
  7. I haven’t heard him say he doesn’t want to play 2nd or refusing to put in the work. I’ve heard the Twins say that he is taking reps and working on 2nd but that he is our 3rd baseman and that will be his primary position. Developing yips? I don’t think that’s the case, nor is him refusing to play elsewhere. He has stated a preference for third, but he hasn’t refused to play elsewhere or to put in the work to play elsewhere.
  8. Actually, it’s been stated by Falvey that Lewis will be the 3B this year but that they may play him occasionally at 2nd. That’s why he’s been working out at 2nd, in case he needs to bump b over from time to time, but he’s the 3B
  9. You can already do that as you are out of the local market. I live in Chicago and have been streaming the Twins broadcasts for years
  10. This is a good statement in that on this site there are choices in what we read. And some writers put in a lot more effort than others, so while a subject might not be to our taste, and the opinions and conclusions drawn we might not agree with, we can still find it interesting because the effort made it worthwhile vs the writer who just throws it out there without much substance or thought.
  11. I saw a blurb somewhere … might have been on social media from the Twins, or maybe here? … showing the broadcast team for the upcoming season. Other than Laudner, who I wish would retire, it was all ‘younger’ than Smalley. It included Plouffe, Perkins, Morneau, Span, Hawkins and Laudner in the retired players group, plus the non-player group with Provus, Martin and someone else.. Again, other than Laudner, the players involved seemed to be the next generation, those who retired from playing in the last 10 yrs rather than those who retired from play multiple decades ago. (Hawkins is the longest retired, having retired in 2015.) I also read that Smalley had been wrestling with this decision for three years, citing that his wife had wanted him to retire. I don’t think the Twins asked him to leave or nudged him in any way, but the Twins have certainly reached to more recent players in the last couple of years.
  12. I don’t think ‘by opening day’ was ever made as a sure thing. Everything I’ve read was ‘it’s possible that’ or ‘it could be as soon as.’ I don’t think anyone is putting a delay on the process, intentionally or otherwise. Even if it’s this season some time, that’s sooner than I was expecting, and I will hopefully be happy when it’s a done deal. This is a major, major, major transaction. Most owners, unless they just want to get rid of something quickly, are going to do due diligence and go through a proper process. And part of that is getting MLB approval. Matt is correct when he says ‘impatience will get us nowhere,’ so try not to go the nefarious route when things don’t happen as you think they will. The Ishbia brothers are not the only ones out there.
  13. Except who wants to have any ownership stake in the White Sox right now. Maybe, if they were set to get a new stadium. They are not and will not given that Reinsdorf has already stated he wants the city and state to foot a majority of it. We can’t afford that in IL. Or, maybe, if they were set to move elsewhere. They are not. I’m doubtful they ever will, but moving is way more likely that a new stadium.

  15. It’s why I put it in the ‘rumors’ forum because until it’s a done deal, it’s just that.

  17. I’m not sure why you find this humorous. TD is on most platforms to reach the most amount of people.
  18. 🙂 still was a good trade, though
  19. Ryan was actually a deadline trade when we sent Cruz to Tampa
  20. So typical of this writer. Half-assed thrown together article nearly for the clicks.
  21. Quit saying dumb stuff to troll just because you dislike young players. Stop it now. Consider this a warning.
  22. TD did not delete it. Your post was started in the rumors forum and is still there. The rumors forum probably isn’t the best place for actual transactions. Might have been better in the minors or Twins talk forum.
  23. Sooooooo much hyperbole in this just to complain. Gil as a staff ace? Lol.
  24. The offseason as a whole. But I’d say the moment it was lost was when the owners said they were reducing payroll.
