    Nope. Wrong. Just wrong. When a cap is suggested, the players ask to see the books, ask for transparency, and the owners say no. They say no to a floor, too. There are two sides, and BOTH owners and players have to come to the table willingly on this and neither side does. And I don’t believe it’s good for the game to revert poor conditions because that’s what will happen.

    I’m sure more than a few pitchers will be a bit … frustrated? … to not get the calls they used to. That could go against us, too, but glad this time it went against Cole.

    I know it’s early, and this is what ST is about. But he’s the slugger on the team and started this same way last spring, and finally had to be sent down. If he’s having these same difficulties late in the spring, I don’t want a repeat of last year. There needs to be a sooner pull if he’s just flailing. But glad he finally pulled through … as I also posted above.

    One comment on the Yankees broadcast was interesting. I’d like to see the data who is more right/more wrong with this system … the pitchers, the batters, the catchers. My bet is the catchers. They do have the best vantage point, imo.

    Wallner worries me. Hope he can get it going, and soon. He has way too much potential (there’s that word again). At this point, I’m not sure what to say other than maybe leave Wallner behind in St. Paul? But I like really how Larnach is doing and progressing. Glad to see Ryan finally getting a start. Has Jax pitched at all this Spring? I don’t think I’ve seen him yet.

    It was pretty windy with balls really carrying in LF, so Martin did really good out there today considering the conditions. anyone hear anything on Topa? What kind of injury?

    Of course. I’ve said it before the minute we found out their small ownership share in the Sox it made their interst suspicious and hearing nothing of them selling those shares, then makes them backing out not that surprising

    Hmm, the Pohlads upped their payroll in 2023 and we went farther than we had in decades. Then after a season of success, instead of building on that, they cut payroll to ‘right the ship’ and the team fell short. Sure, you can blame it on players falling short, they are to blame as well with some poor or injured performances, but I do think there was a correlation there. The Pohlads deflated their payroll and the season was deflated before it even began. That said, I don’t know when we’ll see a deal. I don’t know if this one was the right one or not. Time will tell if we missed out. But the minute we knew of the Ishbias having a minority share of the Sox, it seemed a bit fishy. I’m not so sure we missed out as much as I think we were played.
