    Good questions. Here's my take: $15 mil a year is a reasonable contract to risk for Buxton's upside. Couple that with change of scenery...Yada Yada Yada. St. Louis might want out of one of their contracts for a (semi?) rebuild. SD might have a good idea if they want to offer huge money to Soto, or if Soto is more interested elsewhere. Buxton might be a good insurance plan. Same with Cubs...they may risk Buxton if they know they are not signing Bellinger long term. Going to be a very interesting next couple of weeks!

    Trade Buxton to wherever he wants to go. There will be interest from other clubs...SD for Hader? Chi for Bellinger? St Louis for Goldy or Arenado?

    1. Trade Gallo and Kepler for lotto ticks 2. Trade for Goldy 3. Bring up top prospects we have after #2 4. Trim fat off of bullpen and trade for a decent lefty (Not expecting Hader but it would be damn nice) 5. Trade Correa in off-season (no idea what this looks like)

    Goldy or Arenado...you get to pick one. All things considered. Let's just say Goldy costs less in prospects...who ya got?

    Any time you are a front runner to win your division, you have to be buyers. But then again I am much more aggressive minded than most.

    Just for the record, I never said anything about trading Gray or Ober. My deal was Polanco, Kirillof, SWR, and Bolozovic...

    Point is...whoever wins the WS: Has to make the playoffs Has to get hot at the right time Needs luck I'd rather be in the position we are then being 10 wins over .500 and 10 games back of division with very little postseason hope... (PS...am I really giving up that much in this deal?)

    Thank you all for your opinions! The more the better! Few takeaways: 1) we all value players differently...from "this is way too steep" to "cardinals would never accept this." For me: Polanco...we have seen his best days and need to take advantage of his value ASAP Kirrillof: love the guy but his wrist is going to be an issue his entire career SWR and Balazovic are lotto tickets 2) as bad as we are...we ARE contenders. You win the division, you get hot at the right time, and anything can happen. 3) we would have Goldy for this year and next, and he still plays every day...and at a high level.

    Cardinals are terrible...10 games back and not looking good. Let's not wait until the trade deadline, as we know our division is up for grabs. Paul Goldschmidt would look amazing in a Twins uniform. He makes $26 this year and next. Maybe a package like this? Polanco, Kirillof, SWR, Balazovic

    Wouldn't be opposed to signing any of these guys. Also wouldn't mind buying a lottery ticket or 2...Giles, Alex Reyes, converting Wacha, etc.

    I just want to see Royce, Kirilloff, and Larnach stay healthy and have a little success, and Miranda and Gordon repeat theirs. Not ready for these new guys yet! ...unless we trade Polanco.
