    Robbie has improved and my hope is that this current production level is truth and not a mirage. He is creeping up on 1200 PAs so has reached the experience level necessary for his progression to be valid.

    The beauty of an MLB season is the 162 games. I want to party like it's 1999 after this 6-3 start... let's remember it is a long season.

    Enjoy the moment and a good start for a change instead of a train wreck on top of a car crash like 2016. The starting pitching will have to prove itself and it would be great if Buxton picked up the pace.

    Yeah, the Twin Cities is a notorious bandwagon town. It sure was nice to enjoy the 5-1 start. No reason to be annoyed.

    If you think to before he was hired he was essentially touted as a genius. He's had some time to progress as a manager and learn after taking his lumps. His in game decision making was terrible early in 2016 and he was outmanuvered, which caused losses that could have been wins. Let's see how hw does when tested strategy wise during a close game in 2017.

    Bring back the Metrodome is my only thought as I prepare to dodge raindrops at Target Field today. A record of 75-87 is my prediction for 2017.

    Hope springs eternal and there is a new season upon us and the Twins are undefeated. While the lack of offseason moves and roster construction by the front office has been baffling, I am willing to be patient for now and give them a chance. With the young talent the Twins (hopefully) have the future feels bright for the first time in a long time.

    Good point. I thought the Twins were going to sit ol' Joe a few times a week to get his games played down to about 120. How is that going to happen without another first baseman on the roster?     It looks like it might rain tomorrow at Target Field. Give me the Dome back where the Twins won championships. Except I take that back when it's nice weather. How about a retractable roof?

    So the Twins keep 13 pitchers and Chagrois isn't one of them? Baffling.

    I know he was roughed up and the spring training numbers were awful... still why not give Chargois a shot?

    The proof will be in the pudding. It has been difficult to be patient with Falvey- Levine as they have looked nearly the same as the Terry Ryan regime. We need to give the new guys at least 2-3 years before we start making judgments.

    It's in the Minnesota sports culture to fret too much over losing borderline players (see Oswlado Arcia). The Twins were burned by David Ortiz so now the fans are paralyzed with fear it will happen again. The Twins lost 103 games last year, roster fluidity should be encouraged.

    If he slacks and lollygags after the regular season starts and he doesn't post the numbers then we can talk about sending Sano to AAA. The Twins should put up with his antics only if he is producing. Sano should be on a shorter leash entering 2017 than he was entering 2016. He still has superstar potential, it's just that it is seeming less of a lock as time passes.

    The increase in media coverage gives the illusion that the development of Buxton has taken longer than it should have. Back in the before the internet days, even diehard fans such as Twins Daily reader types, would have heard much less on a prospect like Buxton instead of wall to wall coverage from the day he was signed that we get now. It would be a game changer for this organization if Buxton really is the breakout king of 2017.

    That has to be one of the worst parts, if not the worst, of the job. Needing to tell a young person that everything he has been working for up to that point in his life is now gone- that has to be the pits.

    This could be the first step to a new method to improved player health and improved working conditions. The Twins system seems very basic, at least it is a start down the right path. The concerns from the union are silly. Why would the union care if this data impacts the mental state of the players?

    Yes to Dozier and Buxton, maybe yes to Sano. I would wait on Pressly and May.
