  1. I don't know what Brenda said means, it made me laugh though.
  2. They are spreading the wealth and truly bullpen by committee as per MLB.com: Eric Orze recorded the Twins’ fifth save on Thursday, and every one of them has gone to a different pitcher – including one in each of the four wins against Detroit. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, it’s the third time since saves became an official statistic in 1969 that a team has won four straight games in a single series with four different pitchers getting a save.
  3. This recap seems to be what we might see for the majority of 2026 weekly summaries. You might just be able to cut and paste and fill in the relevant names for the next 24 weeks.
  4. At least the Twins took Acton to address their bullpen woes.
  5. I had the (mis)fortune of attending in person last night at CHS Field. I arrived late so missed the 1st inning debacle. Then, I left once the 6th inning down slide began so I missed most of the really brutal stuff. Regardless, it was a cold, miserable night. The hoodie giveaway was the saving grace.
  6. The baserunning blunders were disturbing and must get cleaned up quickly. The ABS challenge system seems clunky and a poor system after the first weekend of games. Either use the ABS full time or don't use it. This hybrid system is awful and the manufactured "strategy" it brings is maddening.
  7. He was the extra playoff ump and basically his only job being the fair/foul calls. The ball hit the glove AND still landed fair. Worst call ever. Why no reaction from Mauer? Especially, why no argument from Gardy? Perhaps another ump could have overruled the obviously blown call. I think that was possible before replay.
  8. That's a reasonable take although I just have a difficult time accepting any baseball tournament that is single elimination in the championship rounds.
  9. The numbers say he's been a slightly above average starter type of player. 109 OPS+, .255 career BA, 4.0 bWAR accumulated over 258 games. Everyone says he's a neat guy, although he's maybe not profiling as a clubhouse leader with some of his comments. I hadn't ever really thought of this until now - if Lewis can improve a notch or two and have a Byron Buxton type career numbers wise that would be a slight improvement and not a terrible outcome for his career. Of course, more games played consistently over many seasons is the key for Royce.
  10. Spring training just started. It's alright to be optimistic.
  11. I give one of these cards to my wife every year.
  12. The Varland trade was simply bad optics. This hometown fan will never accept and/or be reasonable about it. It was a bad trade, pure and simple. I will die on that hill. Maybe... maybe if Roden and Rojas become key players in a championship would I back down. Sometimes the human element has to be top priority and the Twins should have kept Varland.
  13. Classic Minnesota Twins mismanagement - infuriate the fanbase for two years then try to switch course and further infuriate some of the fanbase. I think it was time to move on from each other so I'm falling for the mutual parting of ways story. Maybe it will help things to get a fresh start in the front office. Falvey (and Levine) did an okay job over their tenure all factors considered.
  14. I will never support the Louis Varland trade, regardless of any future results or if the Twins "win" the trade. I will never support or speak positively of this trade.
  15. He has more bWAR with the Twins than Twins HOFers Versalles, Gagne, and Cuddyer. Then, there's Gladden in there so that opens the door to many possibilities.
  16. It seems like this could be a career ender. Unless some team sees value having Kepler there for the second half of the season with no playoffs, which seems unlikely to me. I thought of Kepler as a borderline Twins Hall of Fame type player. I wonder if this removes him from that conversation in the future.
  17. You letting the ownership off the hook is more damaging than categorizing them as possibly the worst owners. There was evidence presented that the Pohlads have been running the same scheme related to payroll since the 1990s. If nearly 30 years of the same false narratives doesn't convince you of the damage the Pohlads have caused, I'm not sure what else can. I'm not certain why you only use payroll as your basis for judgment. There are other factors to consider. I'm looking big picture. Are you forgetting the past two years with the streaming debacle, the trade deadline of 2025, etc. I also look at antecdotal evidence and see friends and family who have supported the Twins for decades (some since the 1960s) saying they are bailing on supporting the Twins, will not renew season ticket packages, and are "done". These aren't passive fans, they are hardcore. Some are refusing to attend games with me in 2026. ESPN recently rated Twins fans as most frustrated: https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/47335875/mlb-2025-10-most-frustrated-fan-bases-red-sox-mets-twins-cardinals These are signs of a terrible ownership group and legitimate complaints. Defend the Pohlads all you want. I refuse to.
  18. The Pohlads are perhaps the worst owners in North American men's professional sports. That's really the baseline. All the other hand wringing about payroll, debt, and lame Pohlad excuses is like spitting into the wind. Forty plus years has proven things won't change. I really try to focus on enjoying the games regardless of outcome and enjoying Target Field.
  19. As my dad said so many times during my youthful years, "I'd rather be lucky than good."
  20. Great list and fun to relive some positive Twins memories. Jack Morris at #1 because of the championship. Much like Kirby Puckett will always be the greatest Twins player because of the titles.
  21. Hard pass. There's not much discussion needed when current state Royce Lewis is the top conversation piece.
  22. None of those guys moves the attendance needle one millimeter. Zero impact. I'd guess even a surprising above .500 start through Memorial Day wouldn't save the attendance figures at Target Field. I know multiple friends and family that have supported the Twins for decades and are now saying they will not watch until the Pohlads are gone/things truly change, etc. This franchise has burned up all goodwill with the ticket buying fanbase.
