  1. There are some fine ideas here. Although, we are forgetting that winning gets rear ends in the seats. Plus, this market is notorious for being fair weather and front running fans. I push back on how expensive the Twins experience is. To go to the Spinal Tap II movie tonight it's $15 per ticket. The ticket costs are reasonable at the Twins games in comparison. For food, you can bring your own food. The value concession stands, family section, and dollar dog nights offer multiple affordable options with minimal effort. It isn't just 612 Saturdays that offer affordable food and drink at Target Field. Finally , parking can be had for $10 on LaSalle Avenue, a few minutes walk through the skyway to Target Field. The $25 in Ramps ABC is a bit pricey, that point is valid. However, there are affordable nearby parking options. Food information: Value Menu Pricing Item Sections/Portables Price Hot Dog Sections: 120, 133, 311, 323 $3.99 Soft Pretzel Sections: 120, 133, 311, 323 $4.49 Popcorn Sections: 120, 133, 311, 323 $3.49 Peanuts Sections: 120, 133, 311, 323 $2.99 Fountain Soda Sections: 120, 133, 311, 323 $2.49 Bud/Bud Light Can Sections: 120, 133, 311, 323 $5.99 Bottle Aquafina Sections: 120, 133, 311, 323 $3.99 Ice Cream Novelty Sections 120, 133, 311, 323 $3.49 Dollar-A-Dog Days Hot dogs are just $1 at Target Field during every Tuesday home game! Bring the family and enjoy a ballpark classic without breaking the bank Kids Zone Sunday Kids Days are presented by Target. As part of Sunday Kids Days, Target transforms the lawn inside Gate 34 to Bullseye Backyard (Memorial Day – Labor Day), kids 12 and younger can run the bases postgame, PLUS U.S. Bank Kids Meals are half off (reduced from $8 to $4)! Tickets in the family section tonight are $26 after fees and that's for the ticket, hot dog, and soda. You can take your family of four to a Friday night game tonight for $104 plus $25 for parking in Ramps ABC for a total of $129. It seems reasonable for a night of entertainment for a major professional sports league, although I realize all budgets are different.
  2. The mode of 'just enjoy each game regardless of outcome' and don't worry about the future is my plan. It seems the only reasonable choice to stay grounded. We're still watching major league baseball, it's the sport I love.
  3. It's typical to underachieve for the major league professional men's sports teams from Minnesota for the last 34 years. Following that pattern, the Twins tanking the last five years is par for the course and not surprising.
  4. "Hope" = no chance to win the World Series, be a legitimate contender to advance in the playoffs, and not relevant. This is a frustrating place as a serious fan after what happened in 2023 postseason and no World Series appearance since 1991.
  5. I don't know, man. This one seems like an even flip. The Twins stuck with Buxton through so many injuries and periods of poor play. I think the franchise has some equity on this one. I don't feel sorry for Buxton. He was paid handsomely by the Twins and could waive his no trade clause. As upset as I am after last Thursday, this topic doesn't register for me as a hot button.
  6. This franchise is stuck in mediocre status or worse for the foreseeable future. It's obvious the fan base cares more about on field results than the owners. What a sad state of affairs. I will keep watching and attending because of my love for the sport. Beyond that, I understand casual fans and even long term dedicated fans jumping ship.
  7. The entire fire sale at the trade deadline ordeal feels disingenuous as the front office has not addressed the salary dump aspect (at least from everything I've seen and heard). Falvey's interview on the Friday television broadcast was just stating the Twins haven't played well enough since the start of 2024, tough decisions, and the vast majority of the time he pumped up the new prospects acquired. At least give the fans some credit for having a bit of intelligence.
  8. Did you play in high school, college, town ball, or the minor leagues? I find everyone's playing journey interesting. If you are located in or near Minnesota and want to continue playing the sport, there is an age 50+ baseball league and also a 60+ baseball league. They use wood bats and it's a great chance to get out there and compete.
  9. I'm not sure why it's a wasted season. This is the ultimate team sport. Although the Twins are just on the fringes of wild card contention and appear to be sliding out of relevance, Buxton's contributions have mattered.
  10. I met George at the open tryouts for the Saints at CHS Field. I thanked him for giving me the chance to dream for an afternoon. He was really respectful and took the time to acknowledge my efforts even though I was in my early forties and just there to see what I could do with obviously no chance to make the squad. I also used to call and email questions to his weekly Saints show.
  11. Sometimes good things happen to good people and that seems to be the case here. Buxton deserves this success.
  12. Thank you again for the memories. I was there for all three of those 3,000th hit milestone games.
  13. Perhaps more Gardy era playoff success would have boosted some of the cases.
  14. Kirby Puckett is the greatest Twin. Perhaps a Field of Dreams 2 movie based on Bob Hegman's career?
  15. Buxton will get the one representative pity pick that will go to the Twins in 2025. It is good timing since the All Star game is in Buxton's home state.
  16. I can't disagree. Although I really want to point out that Cleveland just seems so darn lucky. I suppose the "luck" probably comes because of the factors you mentioned. It's just so darn infuriating to witness all the one run wins against the Twins.
  17. Thank you for the update. I actually didn't remember Maxwell, this was still interesting, though.
  18. Let's check in at Memorial Day and see how things look. Right now, it's too soon.
