  1. The search for a full-time closer as I don't feel Kintzler is the long term answer and Perk's career is essentially done.
  2. Maybe Mean Joe Green will throw you his jersey after you hand him an ice cold Coke?
  3. I support anything to get Dick off the air as he is boring and nearly unwatchable and difficult to listen to. However, listening to a couple of amateurs for an entire game doesn't sound like an upgrade. Why not integrate some of your ideas into a professional broadcast? I have always wanted more screen time for Audra Martin.
  4. That's about the time the Braves are ramping up to build a new stadium.
  5. It's hard to throw in the towel on that power potential so I feel we need to see more PAs before formulating an opinion.
  6. Let's give him 550+ PAs so we can know for certain.
  7. The integrity of the game is directly tied to avoiding things that make an MLB game feel like a slow pitch softball tournament. It is as good of a definition as anything else.
  8. Why are we worried about pace of the game at the risk of compromising the integrity of the game? These are horrible ideas. What's next - having the runner after hitting a home run not have to entirely circle the bases like slow pitch softball? If you want to solve perceived pace of play then get rid of television commercials and you will be back to 2 hour games.
  9. The Sano at DH take is a visceral reaction to Miguel not being able to catch infield popups. He does have some talent there and an arm. It's just hard to lose the visual of those botched catches.
  10. My theory is DanSan must have compromising pictures of someone in authority. Setting that theory aside the Twins really should move on and find someone with a higher ceiling. Santana and his familiarity might work better on a contending club. The Twins need long term solutions not stop gaps.
  11. In a recent interview Brian Dozier stated he preferred the leadoff spot and felt more comfortable there.
  12. Making quick decisions and not being attached to guys for money or sentimental reasons is fine. I question whether leaving a guy with Park power potential exposed is sound decision making. Park was effective in 2016 at the MLB level when healthy.
  13. Sign me up for 80 wins, which would surely keep them in contention for a WC spot well into September. My guess is that the Twins win total is closer to 70 than 80.
  14. This issue is an example of an organization such as the Twins that needs to gain an advantage on the detail issues such as injuries, yet typically is old school and behind the times. My guess is that this is on the radar screen of the new front office.
  15. Being a Vikings fan and remembering how the ghetto Falcons destroyed our 1998 dream season, my heart says Patriots. However, my brain says the Falcons offense is too much. Falcons 41, Pats 31.
  16. Do you actually get to see any of the game or is it all work? My guess is all work yet wonder if some positions might finish the shift before the end of the game. Does anyone know?
  17. No to the high school kid from Wisconsin because Wisconsin sucks.
  18. The biggest concern is his streakiness. If he can avoid the prolonged slumps then we might have something really special. And of course, the hair.
  19. It will be nice to get everyone on the same page as much as possible. Wasn't Buxton confused last year with conflicting instructions from the major and minor league staffs regarding the leg kick?
  20. Here's hoping that the weight loss and added muscle translate to more consistency. Sano seemed tired at times last year. I would also like to see less monkeying around on the bench - it's okay and encouraged to have fun - it just seemed Sano was goofing around a bit too much and not as laser focused as necessary. If the changes mentioned in the link get the Twins Sano's game changing potential harnessed into reality, what a great offseason. It will be an all time downer if Sano doesn't progress and fulfill a large portion of his potential.
  21. You lightly touched on it with Polanco comments... my bigger picture concern is who will play shortstop and provide any defense and offensive production if Polanco fails or even when Polanco is on the bench.
  22. If Polanco at shortstop would be disastrous, why keep him if we sign a free agent? Cut him loose at that point, who cares if we sign a veteran and he is out of options? Why not play him and know for sure what we really have.
  23. Optimism and being a bit of a homer since spring training hasn't started yet and hope springs eternal. Mix that with a dose of we gotta get some lucky breaks after 2016, the young bats progress, Phil Hughes and Berrios have good seasons, and the power bat hoped for still to come arrives and performs.
