  1. Any little bit of improvement is what this franchise needs. The new guys sound like an upgrade overall from Bruno and Davis.
  2. I can sniff the end of the Mauer era. Hopefully they will at least explore the platoon option seriously and honestly.
  3. When you list the guys out like that it becomes even more disturbing. The entire organization can improve in the preventing/treating/diagnosing/rehabbing injuries field. Possibly Falvey/Levine can move the Twins to the modern day on this issue.
  4. I am not a betting man, especially on Minnesota teams where I am emotionally invested. However, if I was then I would take the over and sweat.
  5. Murphy deserves another chance based on his offensive production with the Yankees.
  6. Glad to hear that everyone appears okay.
  7. Us Bank Stadium is a rich man's stadium. It's disappointing they charge Vikings prices at Gophers baseball games.
  8. Bring those jobs back to the USA and make America and baseball great again!
  9. I am looking forward to watching a college baseball game in the new stadium. It should be an interesting dynamic with the huge palace hosting college baseball.
  10. Pass the dutchie on the left hand side.
  11. This information makes me sick to my stomach.
  12. I know bunting isn't cool in today's baseball world. For a guy like Buxton though, it seems like a smart play and a good way to jump start his offensive numbers at the start of his career. If his batting progresses over the next few years then use the bunt less.
  13. Agreed that Berrios should be logging big league innings. If he falls flat on his face like 2016 then slow his career arc and send him back to AAA to reevaluate.
  14. Watershed moment in life: realizing that a top 10 Twins Daily prospect is younger than your oldest child.
  15. Watershed moment in life: realizing that a top 10 Twins Daily prospect is younger than your oldest child.
  16. The strikeouts on this team sicken me - Sano and Rosario need to get them under control if they are going to be key cogs in a winning Twins machine. Strikeouts are toxic regardless of what some advanced metrics state.
  17. Let's post a .500+ record in 2017 before we start worrying about a logjam in the starting rotation in 2018. The 2017 season should be enjoyed and seen as a no-lose proposition. If the Twins post a clunker similar to 2016 we can shrug our shoulders as this is a rebuilding season and in Falvey/Levine we trust. If the Twins pop up and hover around .500 in 2017 then it is a success while they continue to build for playoff runs in 2018-2019 going forward. We haven't had much to cheer for the last 5+ years so let's enjoy the moment as much as possible.
  18. This is why I don't bet - my heart says over and the brain says just under. Save the cash.
  19. This outfield and its potential gets me fired up. With Robbie Grossman mashing lefties as the 4th outfielder, these guys are going to make a difference. In a few years we are going to be talking about our top notch outfield and what a strength it is.
  20. It seems gimmicky, although it probably won't hurt.
  21. Well done and nice job. Congrats on five years.
  22. The Twin Cities is a frontrunner and fair weather fan kind of town. This is a wealthy market saturated with both sports and non - sports entertainment options. Nice summer weekends are in short supply so if the Twins aren't 'good' you are going to lose a large fraction of the casual fans. You are asking people to scratch below the surface and research, which your typical Twin Cities sports fan is not going to do for a 103 loss team. We have all talked to the coworker this offseason who won't discuss the Twins in detail because they 'suck' - this is the same guy banging the drum and buying World Series tickets as everyone loves a winner. Most diehards aren't as tied to the result, they love the game or going to the ballpark or whatever. For me, 2016 was an enjoyable viewing season watching the young guys mature a bit. The 103 losses weren't fun, it was still the Twins and that's all that matters.
  23. The Twins are always interesting just as Jesus Christ and reading the scriptures is always interesting. There are no boring moments, only boring people.
  24. Signing a FA bat soon would be a nice way to end a slow offseason.
  25. With global warming changing winter here in the frozen tundra, why not move spring training to an exotic southern location such as Lakeville so the locals can enjoy it?
