  1. If the Twins keep Dozier and then add one of the remaining big bats on the free agent market then with a few breaks they could potentially hang around the wild card race into September. They should not deal Dozier just to get "something". They should continue to hold out for maximum value.
  2. My feeling is that one more big bat and a few lucky breaks and the Twins could at least potentially be in the wild card race into September. It's not a lot - at least it's something better as a launching point than the 2015 mirage.
  3. Let's give the "F&L boys" some time to really show us what they are all about. Rome wasn't built in a day and they were left quite a mess. I like the foundation of the lineup with the young guys Kepler, Buxton, Sano, et al. Not certain what to do with the starting rotation other than to go as young as realistically possible and let them take their lumps and progress. To your point # 4 - I feel if they add another legitimate bat to the lineup such as Bautista and get a few good seasons from unexpected sources then they could possibly contend for a wild card spot. It is not much to hang your hat on, though at least it would be something.
  4. The writing is on the wall that Murphy has some competition now that the Twins signed Chris Gimenez. The Twins need to give Vargas a sustained chance of 500+ PAs to really know what they have. He has flashed too much talent and potential to not get a shot.
  5. He needs 500 ABs so we can see if he is for real or not. He has flashed too much talent and potential to not give him a legitimate shot.
  6. Maybe the A's will take another of our castaway corner infielders? Oakland, may I present to you Mr. Joe Mauer.
  7. Do otherteams with 90+ losses in 5 of the last 6 seasons and 100+ losses last season have the same roster crunch problems the Twins have? It doesn't compute.
  8. Rondell White. Tommy Herr (maybe). At the time, ol ' Tommy seemed like the worst Twin ever - not sure what the #s actually say.
  9. Until something actually happens and a deal gets done this has become boring.
  10. "Flash" Flash a-ah Savior of the Universe Flash a-ah He'll save every one of us
  11. Bonds was just an obvious cheat and disgrace to the integrity of the game that he should never be enshrined into the Hall of Fame.
  12. The Twins just need to play him every day and let his talent shine through. Put him in the best position to be successful and demand that he get in shape, get his mental makeup straight, and then the rest is up to Sano. If Sano flops out it would be the biggest disappointment I could envision. He is too good to fail, though a small part of me says it is a potential reality. At this point they need to support him the best they can and let him sink or swim on his own.
  13. Nice summary. The bullpen wasn't as bad as remembered for a 103 loss team. Then I realized that Mr. Jepsen wasn't included in this recap. Anyway, it's nice to remember we have some building blocks in the bullpen. What to do with the closer spot - I don't see Kintzler as the long term answer there.
  14. I see it as a can't lose for the Twins. Either we deal Dozier for some prospects to build for the future or two more years of his bat and hair. Agreed that he will probably lose value, although who's to say there won't be new teams interested at the trade deadline in July?
  15. Anyone who even makes the minor leagues is a serious stud, so thank you for recognizing all of them.
  16. We sucked. Enjoyable moments: Kepler, Dozier, Buxton.
  17. I was 'born' a Dodgers fan since both my parents are from Los Angeles and that's where I was born. We moved around a few times, one of the stops being in Seattle. I remember being in the Kingdome in Seattle when it was brand new. To a young boy it felt super awesome, basically a hupe space ship. We ended up in Minnesota at age 10 and the Metrodome was brand spanking new -we went to a game in April of the Metrodome's first season and I remember everyone there just saying how awesome the Dome was. I was hooked as a Twins fan and bumped the Dodgers down to second place in my heart - still cheer every year for a Twins - Dodgers World Series. Of course, I wish I had been old enough to have seen the 1965 Twins - Dodgers World Series. Now, I really enjoy Target Field and bringing my children to games there outside where baseball belongs. I am also a big St. Paul Saints fan and love CHS Field. I grew up playing American Legion games in the old Saints stadium Municipal (Midway) Stadium. I disagree with people who cheer for all Minnesota teams and then cheer for the Packers - that is blasphemous.
  18. Brutal. It's hard to disagree with you. Everyone could have been given an F except for Santana.
  19. Plouffe will find a job and could really be a nice find for a team if he's healthy and able to produce like a healthy Trevor Plouffe can.
  20. Molly was outmaneuvered on a consistent basis last year during in game strategy matchups. It felt like it happened once or twice per week.
  21. I can see May being an effective super reliever - placed into the game at anytime during key high leverage situations. Much like we saw in the playoffs this fall. I would also support placing him in the rotation.
  22. Like Grossman and Rosario. Love Kepler and Buxton! This outfield has the foundation to be the centerpiece of a once again competitive Twins team.
  23. In honor of the recently departed, late and great George Michael... "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go."
  24. Hard to disagree with your analysis. My only issue is with the Park grade of D. We found out he might have been hurt frome the get go and he still posted a 0.1 WAR. That feels like a C grade and I'm still bullish on Park's future.
  25. I am not convinced the Twins are going to deal Dozier this offseason. It seems Falvey & Levine LLC are content rolling with Dozier at the start of 2017 and maybe dealing him at the deadline depending on how the season is going. This is my gut feeling.
