    Until Joe does something relevant in the postseason I will have a hard time seeing him as clutch. Yes, it is unfair and not relevant statistically.. some guys such as Kirby Puckett, made clutch (maybe more importantly memorable) plays in the postseason that seem to tag the with the reputation as clutch. My hope is that Joe gets some chances here in the next few years to make some memorable "clutch" plays in the postseason and that glow stays with him come Hall of Fame voting time. Then, add a Gold Glove or two at 1st base and possibly the ultimate prize of a World Series ring and maybe our hometown hero will get into the HOF. It is a positive that his statistical "clutch" numbers look better recently.

    Let's cool the jets and not be typical overreacting Minnesota sports fan. Yes, big picture Buck has the potential to be an MVP candidate. It still might take a few years and more ups and downs before he stays consistent. I prefer to enjoy the process and watch him progress (hopefully) into a Trout type superstar.

    If Joe can notch multiple Gold Gloves at first base and then sneak an outlier productive offensive season, those things would greatly improve his HOF chances. Joe is making quite a case for the Twins to re-sign him at the end of the monster contract.

    If a team can get into the postseason anything can happen. Let's get the second Wild Card spot and then see how far we can ride Santana, Berrios, and Colon. Stranger things have happened than those three having postseason success.

    The thinking was so different 12 years ago. I can remember being impressed beyond belief when a guy posted 20 victories. I have to admit that if I hadn't lived in the Twin Cities in 2005 then I most likely would have voted for Colon.

    Colon pitching on Tuesday reeks of desperation. Maybe the Boy Wonders know what they are doing and Colon will be a surprise and help the Twins. I am skeptical.

    It's hard to argue. However, I will state that there is a small sliver of hope that he could turn the corner and end up with a decent career.

    The Twins are desperate for starting pitchers. Gibby is below average, however he is a known quantity and the Twins know they won't be (most likely) completely sunk when they throw him out there. There is a certain comfort level when running Gibby out there, even though it is almost certain the results will not be stellar. It's sort of like the girlfriend from college that you couldn't stand, yet didn't want to break up with because it would have been too much work and she was adequate where it counts.

    There are similarities between this core four and the group from the 1980s that actually won a few titles. The next 5+ years could be really exciting in Twins territory.

    The Saints need to win the 2017 American Association championship and get a banner flying at CHS. After 2015 and 2016, maybe 2017 is third time is the charm.

    Being pragmatic, the blast from the past scenario doesn't usually work out for the Twins or other Minnesota franchises for that matter. I would rather give a young prospect a chance and roll with an eye to the future while riding out this unexpected run as a contender.

    At this rate, our Twins might be in last place by the end of the week. It is hard to imagine a victory right now unless Berrios or Santana pitch lights out. Cleveland looks playoff ready again.

    I don't like being negative guy, however the first place standing as of today seems more of a function of previous work done by TR and company along with TR's players performing. I guess you are right and we must continue to be patient and let the new front office guys work any magic they might have. Count me a fan of Falvey/Levine -it's just that looking at the free agency (lack of moves), spring training, and now the draft I am not seeing much difference between them and the TR regime. Maybe I entered the Falvey/Levine era expecting shock and awe from and need to be patient as they slowly build. I guess I will enjoy the first place ride so far this season and trust the process on the rest.
