    Perfectly stated. The damage was already done emotionally for fans. Call it the Alex Colomé effect. I also don’t understand what’s so valuable about Pagan in his role. If anything, it’s blocking younger prospects from getting those reps and potentially moving to a higher leverage role. We know what Pagan’s ceiling is.

    This team screams mediocrity. I just saw this season play out for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Surprisingly playing okay against the top teams, and falling flat on their face against the bad teams.

    I’m enjoying the fruits of my labor so far with romaine lettuce and radishes! The peas aren’t really producing so I have a decision to make… It’s looking like in the next week or two I’ll be enjoying the first garden tomatoes of the year!

    Yeah, I don’t care how we stack up in the AL Central. I would go ahead with selling, and if we win the division with 83 wins that’s a bonus. The Twins don’t stack up well against the projected playoff teams.

    That is a good point about the playoff revenue. If Diamond Sports doesn’t pay the TV contract this year, they may need to make short term decisions to capture the lost revenue. I agree on your thinking they will trade one of Kepler or Gallo, not both. We could get a solid return on Gallo if he heats up over the next 45 days. Polanco is the one on that list I have a difficult time parting with. I’d explore the option but likely hold on to him. From the 10,000 ft overview he appears to be one of the only clubhouse leaders on roster.

    If the Twins are still hovering around .500 in mid July, I would be actively selling to rebuild the farm system. Over the next 30-45 days Falvey needs to find out if Sonny Gray will accept a short extension. If not, sell high on his career best season. He is by far the best trade chip to realistically move. I would also explore trading away Gallo, Thielbar, Solano, and Polanco. I don’t believe Pagan, Kepler, or Maeda have trade value and more likely to be DFA candidates.

    I don’t post nearly as much as I used to because it’s the same story in 50% of the games. The offense has given the team a minimal chance to win.

    Since the beginning of 2021 until today, the Twins are 182-205. 23 games under .500 during a period when they were trying to win immediately!

    You are correct Nick. There was a momentous opportunity to build a huge division lead, and it’s squandered away now. The White Sox practically begged to be put out of their misery after their horrid start in April. Now they are 3.5 games out of 1st. Imagine how they must be feeling to be in the mix after an 8-21 March/April. There is zero urgency to do anything different thanks to the division being so bad. Falvey and Rocco will keep on keeping on following the spreadsheet.

    Gallo yes, Thielbar yes, Stewart I suppose if he has real value, and Gray yes if he won’t sign a short extension. Polanco I would struggle with trading because he is one of the only visible leaders in the clubhouse.

    The Twins should be active sellers at the deadline this year. If they luck into a division title with 82 wins so be it. They are once again light years behind the top teams in the league.

    It’s certainly not enough for me to spend my personal time off work watching them. I am grateful for the game recaps to stay up to date on the team. That’s about all I can take these days.

    Sad but true. The situation is very frustrating as a fan. I can’t imagine how frustrating it is for Falvey and Baldelli who would love nothing more than him playing 130 games a season in CF. We’re only the first year into the extension and it’s only going to get worse, I’m afraid.

    It’s just another avenue to get more potential eyes on the Twins. More options is a good thing.

    I am pretty confident that the Twins will not be broadcast on Bally Sports at the end of the season. Sounds like we are next, along with Cleveland and Arizona, to likely break away from Diamond Sports. The good news is MLB acted swiftly with the Padres and it should triple the amount of homes who can watch their games. My hope for the cord cutters is MLB will choose some channels on YouTube TV or Hulu Live TV to broadcast the games so more people can watch the Twins. Revenue sharing has to be strongly considered once the collapse of Diamond Sports is final. Most teams will never be able to recapture the revenue from their old TV contracts. Other teams like the Yankees and Dodgers will have an enormous advantage if their RSN deals remain in tact.

    We all know the correct answer… The lengths we have gone to keep Buxton off the field for even a single inning is absurd.

    Due to the division being dreadful, there is no urgency to change anything from the FO or Rocco’s rigid game plan. This team desperately needs people who can hit a baseball consistently. Instead of letting a backup 1B/emergency only 2B in Donny Barrels off roster, they decide to send down Wallner who had 8 straight PAs getting on base. I’m glad to see Lewis back without any derailments on his rehab assignment. He’s in a tough spot. The fans certainly have put all of their eggs in the Lewis basket to be the spark plug this team desperately needs.

    I discovered during the pandemic how much joy gardening brings to me. I love tending to it, watching it grow, and of course eating what you grow! Nothing better than garden fresh tomatoes in the summer time. I’ve added another tomato plant today and 3 pepper plants since I had room in the plot.

    Falvey, Baldelli, and Levine (to a smaller extent) are a package deal. No surprise that Baldelli is staying as long as they are with the organization. Baldelli is one of 10-15 managers in the game where you shrug your shoulders. I don’t think he’s a bad manager, and I don’t know if he’s a good one. As the kids say, he’s mid, bruh. If future changes are made, I would want to have a clean sweep of the FO and manager.

    The Giants had 2 hits total after the 1st out of the game and still comfortably won. Let that sink in.

    This is likely the last game I watch live for a while. The offense stinks. Absolutely stinks. The honeymoon period for Willi Castro lasted a couple of days and now we remembered he stinks.
