  1. Foul ball, I think.. But an important out. It the runner had been standing on the base, he might have scored.
  2. Interesting. I'll have to try it. Next time you're out that way, I recommend Syncline. Great Rhone wines about ten miles east of White Salmon.
  3. Well, since he's a farmer, there's lots of choices. Maybe a threat involving steer manure to anyone who didn't start hitting?
  4. From the Twins' Web site: Kind of tells it all: 1. Correa has been terrible at the plate this year. 2. No one who has been less terrible has enough PA to qualify.
  5. This clip from Twins' Web site kind of says it all: 1. Correa has been terrible at the plate. 2. No one hitting any better has enough PA to qualify.
  6. I feel like the organization is being run by Enron alumni. Despite evidence to the contrary, they are convinced that they are smarter than everyone else and that they will eventually rule the world. Only someone named Pohlad can change things. Is he part of the problem or part of the solution?
  7. Buxton, Gallo, and Correa are like expensive speed bumps in the Twins' offense. It seems like every time the rest of the team starts to get something started, one of them comes up and strikes out or grounds into a DP to slow things back down.
  8. Well, it doesn't have to change. But it has to change if I'm going to start watching games again.
  9. I'd suggest "trading" him to St. Paul, but he would be blocking prospects.
  10. No, and we loved him too (even though he was only half Austrian!). He retired in 2021 after 17 years here. His last season, with lots of special works he had been saving for it, was canceled by Covid. David Danzmayr took over in 2021 and did Mahler's Resurrection (#2) appropriately as his opening concert. Interestingly, we convinced my sibs to postpone my sister's 80th birthday celebration in 2021 by a week in order not to miss that, and we convinced them to postpone my brother's a week so we didn't have to miss today. Got to have priorities!
  11. We have a new Austrian conductor (whom we love) and he really likes Mahler. Did #2 last year and #4 and #5 this year.
  12. Heading downtown for Mahler, then out on the road tomorrow morning to Minnesota for my brother's 80th birthday celebration. Won't be checking in on the Twins or TD often. Hope you and the Twins have a good couple of weeks.
  13. Each Canadian run is only worth 0.75 US runs.
  14. Not much competition in the Twins' system for "catcher of the future," so it's good that we have him.
  15. Bit of a surprise, there. But a good one for a change.
  16. Correa is very consistent in high-leverage situations.
  17. How about "playing like they have no heart or desire"? Is that permitted here?
  18. A couple of "might someday bes," a couple of "has beens." and a bunch of "never were or will bes."
