  1. Next man up...I like that motto. What else can the Twins do?
  2. Sano's blast last night should count as 2 home runs. He hit it so hard that there were 3 sailors in uniform chasing the ball to keep it from rolling off the yard arm, off the ship and into the ocean.
  3. Sorry to be picky...but the word is "re-sign" when referring to a pitcher signing a new contract. It is the choice of a person holding an elected office as to whether to "resign" the position and leave his/her office or to stay in office. It is a common mistake and maybe many of you feel it is moot (not mute), Go Twins.
  4. "more" I meant 1 "more" grand slam. Yea, that's what I meant. Really. "one more" ...yea that's it. Really. You believe me don't you?
  5. Gonsalves will make a terrible 2B or 3B. Plus he is left-handed. Plus he can't hit.
  6. The Twins need at least 1 grand slam this year. Load those bases guys and start swinging..
  7. Moises Gomez is a name to watch. I met him last year at Elizabethton. A friendly young man. Before the game he was swinging a plastic bat and hitting plastic balls into a booth designed for the fans to smack some plastic balls into he booth. I asked if he was a SS? I thought he was someone else. He smiled and said, "No, I pitch today." Now he is in high A and has been selected by the Twins to go to the Arizona Fall League. Good luck Moises.
  8. I wish Rosario had swung his "patented base hit swing" in the first inning with Polanco on third and Cruz on first.
  9. Where does Kiriloff play if Sano is at 1B? Kepler, Buck and Rosario seem pretty reasonable in the OF. These are good problems to have, aren't they?
  10. I would go with a 12 man pitching staff. There are rest days in the playoffs. I would want all three of Cave, Arraez, and Adrianza. By the end of September, the IL may take someone currently on the Twins active roster. I hope not, but it is a possibility.
  11. I enjoyed reading this edition of Blue Wahoo Bites so much...that I read it again twice just to make me feel better. I was feeling depressed after having read about the Twinkies "not very pretty" loss last night. I'm better now, thank you.
  12. Good explanation of how two changes have made a huge difference. Habits are things done repeatedly. To change a habit, do something repeatedly a different way. The grip was easy for Sano to change, however getting used to it and swinging and actually connecting using the new grip, took multiple sessions in the batting cage, and live pitching, I am sure. I wonder specifically what drills Sano did over and over to change his bat swing to eliminate the little tipping of the bat toward the pitcher? Any ideas how a coach gets a hitter to change that "hitch", other than yell at him when he did it wrong and praise him when he did it correctly?
  13. Good stats with this article. Thanks.
