  1. This has potential to be a HUGE signing. Congratulations to all involved.
  2. If Buck plays to his potential in 2019, the Twins should offer him a ton of money. That will make both sides happy. The first step in this "happiness equation" is up to Buck.
  3. The signing of Nishi is the Twins' defense to the law suit.
  4. I wonder if the extensive scouting was done by any of the same scouts who scouted Nishi?
  5. Who is the "we" you are referring to? "We", the Twins' fans, have to worry about money because "we", the owner of the Twins, must and does worry about the efficient use of his money. If the owner should be chastised for trying to be cost efficient, then what do you think the chances are that "we", the Twins fans, could persuade the 24 best Twins' active roster players to each "voluntarily" take a 10% cut in pay and the 25th guy could "voluntarily" go to Triple A so the Twins could sign a new player for the $10,000,000 saved from the other 24 players' voluntary 10% reductions in their pay. Remember when Willie Mays said that he loved baseball so much he would play for nothing? Name one owner, GM, manager, coach, or player who "plays" for nothing. "Show me the money, Jerry...say it, show me the money!"
  6. I really was wondering what they knew that I had not heard about because I have no internet connection since I live in a van, down by the river.
  7. It will get better...it will get better...it will get better.
  8. I remember much weaker Twins pitching staffs in the last 5 years, Reading this article about 2019's available choices for the Twins pitching staff makes me optimistic. As "the hardest working man in show business" said: "I Feel Good!"
  9. Mike I agree. Boras is just bloviating, as usual.
  10. Are we having fun yet? This is hard work trying to second guess every Twins' move. I'm trying to sound intelligent in every post so Derek or Thad will take my advice, but nothing to report yet. Heck, I'd be happy if I could at least get some "likes" from Seth, or Nick, or Tom, or Thrylos, or Doc...or even Davethedastardly...anybody. With all these new mathematical measurements I'm stressed. Plus having to spell everything corectly and not have my words runtogether is a pain.I have developed a headache. I'm going to bed. I may have to take up an easier activity just to relax...maybe I'll try predicting the stock market,
  11. Like Phil Hughes? What if the Twins had bet on success with LoMo?
  12. Get the best fielding SS for the short term ...Iglesias. No more than a 2 year deal. Move Romero and Stewart to BP, just for 1 year. Let Mejia start now...we need a left handed starter. Bring up Jake Reed. I want to see what Jake can do. Keep Vasquez in the pen, along with Rogers, May, Hildy and A. Reed. Sounds like a plan.
  13. Thanks for the positive look at the improvements which the Twins may reasonably expect from Addison Reed in 2019. A well thought-out article.
  14. If Rosario could play an average 2B, the Twins could put McCutchen in LF for two years, at which time AK will be ready for OF, Lewis will be ready for SS, Sano will be ready for 1B, and Polonco can move to 3B. And if a mouse had wings, he could fly.
  15. I would give several Mets and several ofthe Mets' best minor league prospects.
  16. Thank you Robbie Grossman. Once a Twin, always a Twin. I appreciate your efforts. Good luck in your future endeavors with another team(s).
  17. 1) Yes...Kirilloff is coming; 2) YES...Romero needs to be in the majors in the pen now It will benefit the team and him; 3) No...leave May in the pen...relievers are becoming more and more important in today's game; The Twins are OK on starters now; A BP consisting of May, Rogers and Romero with a revitalized A. Reed and LOGY Vasquez and a correctly used Hildy has real potential; 4) YES, YES, YES...Play Astudillo and get him 500 at bats. This team needed a spark last year and will need one this year as it fights for first place in the AL Central.
  18. I'm not angry about this waiver claim. I'm cautiously happy.
  19. The main reason I am very excited about the Twins signing Cron is because Twins new manager had to be comfortable with this, since Cron and Baldelli were together on the Rays all of last year. Therefore I say Cron's signing has potential to be a real benefit for the Twins. More so, I submit, than Nelson Cruz (who does not play in the field and whose power stats have been sinking lower the last 4 years, as he aged from 34 to 38 years old...and whose WAR was only .9 above Cron's). Cron is at worst, an average fielding 1B (same fielding percentage as the Twins 2018 1B Gold Glove candidate, Joe Mauer .- .996). If Cron were a problem in the clubhouse, don't you think Baldelli would have known it and would have told Falvine? The Rays did the same thing with LoMo last year...they want to rebuild and have potentially better, younger, cheaper candidates at 1B. It really is as simple as that. I like this move.
