  1. won't bother adding as I'm sure one of the more prolific writers will give us a fully fleshed out story.
  2. https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=1111255773693648&set=a.783553829797179 https://x.com/Twins/status/1851997299586588773/photo/1 (press release)
  3. Cool kids have moved over to City.....
  4. When I was a STH, it always amazed me at the amount of Yankees gear on display when they came to to play here; 'Oh, Yankee's fans are super knowledgeable about their team and the game in general; take it way more seriously than the Minny locals.....' Same game, guy with Yankees jersey and big gold chain/NY charm, ' hey, Number 2, throw me a ball, hey, HEY, Two, how 'bout a ball? C'mon #2, gimme a ball'
  5. So, if you've noticed, Glen Taylor's newspaper has been rebranded the Minnesota Star Tribune complete with change from a five pointed star to the four pointed one, in the style of the one used by the 'Wolves, Lynx, Aurora, and now the Twins on both their caps and the 'Lake Edition's uniforms. Makes me wonder if the Strib was going to be their jersey advertisement sponsor, they kept talking, and Glen floated just buying the team instead, contingent upon the sale of the 'Wolves. Ya just never know.
  6. No escaping "the Star" (as a logo) apparently.....
  7. Be careful. Calling out the financial disparity between the "haves" and "have nots" could loosely be described as "political" and ist verboten.
  8. Eric Schmidt as main guy of a group including Joe Mauer and other ex-MLBers.
  9. TBH, a bundle of Twins/T-Wolves (who I really don't watch)/Wild on a $200/yr subscription isn't bad, as long as it's a solid, HD stream
  10. Honestly, I was expecting that one to show up as well... There was no mention of implementing some "AI" either.
  11. This is just fabulous (but I'd caution you to not take any offers to "tour" Target Field this off-season).
  12. Improperly used analytics would show that there is a higher propensity for injury during SB attempts than if you didn't attempt them at all, so...
  13. Sometimes I have trouble getting 1500 to come in very well, and that's in Golden Valley. I used to be able to pull in and listen to the Twins late night on 'CCO when I lived in Canton, OH.
  14. And yet, they don't seem to be having attendance issues, and if anything, their fandom has even more opportunities for discretionary spending than ours does. So....... what are you saying? It's all about the $320M/yr tv deal they have? That covers a lot of holes.
  15. As someone who was in the military, unless it is in a written down, legal document, it is meaningless. (and I doubt Joe cares what people think, as long as the precious hoard keeps accumulating).
  16. Demand some accountability. If you want to go all "new age" and believe that people's brains aren't developed until they are 25, then you need to have your coaching staff "teach" these guys how to play the game, and maybe more importantly, how to LEARN the game, and improve through practice/repetition. This 'feel good, take batting practice if you want, or not, whatever' has got to go. There is no excuse for poor fundamentals, no excuse for mental errors (throwing to wrong base), not being capable of bunting. That's why people stilled cared when the teams were poor in the past, you knew they were squeezing whatever talent/gamesmanship those guys had out onto the field. They tried, they cared. They can say they are trying, they can say they care, but look at Baldelli's comments, 'people can think whatever they want, runs right off my back'. 'not worried about my job security'. Minimum salary in MLB is a "guaranteed" $740,000/yr. You give "kids" that kind of money, guaranteed, and don't set any demands upon them, accountabilitywise, what do you think is going to happen?
  17. You got that right. I got an e-mail last night celebrating "Fan Appreciation Weekend" with a wheel to spin to win various prizes. Supposed to run through Sunday. I "clicked to win" about 1 pm today (Saturday) to get to the wheel and arrived at a page bannered with "This Promotion is Over"....
  18. They're those "M" hats as well; maybe they'll give you a voucher for a beer or hotdog to take one,
  19. Do you really need a whole 30 pack if you dole it out like airline beverage service? Although, then you'll need Dixie cups, unless you have them play Rock, Paper, Scissors as to who get 1st sip out of the can....
  20. Re: Milwaukee. It sure ain't the stadium (other than being all-weather), but it sure might be the top flight tailgating experience.
  21. I go for the experience "of watching the game" at the ballpark. I don't care for any of the music/malarkey they have going on. Re: Attendance; don't forget that they closed off the upper deck (less expensive seats) for what, the 1st two months of the season? I also see why they are having the "Pack the Park" $9 ticket promo through the end of the season. Note I said "ticket" not seat because there are no seats with those tickets, but you rack up attendance numbers at the turnstile just the same.
