  1. Because why exactly? It's one of the most important fielding positions, and we don't have a reliable player to fill it. You don't think there is any urgency to have someone who will likely play more games than Buck figured out sooner rather than later? Or did I miss the memo where MAT promised to resign for the same price as last year and guarantees he'll also hit just as well?
  2. Yes, they are. But Taylor is a FA. In my mind, we have no starting Center Fielder. That's always been my hesitation about the Buxton signing --- not so much the money, but that he essentially takes up 2 roster spots because you need to have someone who you know can play most every day, and that will never be Buck, hence the need for another CF.
  3. There's no way the Twins are going to go into the season without a "starting level" back up plan for Buxton. He's had another season of injury, couldn't play the field, couldn't steal, wasn't very effective as a DH, and is now another year older. If they're going to let Kepler dictate where he plays, and Martin doesn't appear to be ready, even if Buck is healthy, they'll need someone to cover anywhere from 60 to 162 games in Center.
  4. *Mods, please delete if not allowed* Came across this site and thought that these might be kind of cool for those that like to travel to various ballparks around the country. I have no association with this store/shop, just bringing it to people's attention. Thought it was a nice play on the charm bracelets idea. https://thewanderclub.com/products/mlb-stadium-tokens
  5. So, I went looking to see if the sac removal would lead to arthritis issues down the road and amazingly, I found this little nugget: What happens after bursa is removed? In most cases, a new bursa will grow back within a couple weeks after a bursectomy. The new bursa will most likely be healthy and will not have the pain and inflammation that may have been experienced with the removed bursa. From: https://www.njspineandortho.com/how-to-know-if-you-need-a-bursectomy/
  6. I remember I irritated the one in my knee pretty bad and it felt like a hot poker coated in broken glass being driven in any time I'd go to kneel on it, but otherwise didn't restrict me much. So I can imagine the 'hesitancy' for lack of a better term, of giving it his full, normal swing, if there's that "bite" waiting to jump out at any time.
  7. I read in the Strib that the surgeon removed a bursa sac but didn't need to mess with the rotator cuff or labrum. That's a whole bunch of good news. https://www.startribune.com/minnesota-twins-alex-kirilloff-shoulder-surgery-injury/600314778/
  8. I get it; I'm a sucker for a large Cappuccino Heath.
  9. You are having flashbacks of Kirk Gibson again.
  10. Yeah, it's a shame. The whole Schilling exposure just prior makes it even worse.
  11. In your Friday update of playoff scenarios, you have that the Twins are relegated to the 3 seed due to max of 88 wins and Texas having 89, but further down you still show a scenario where somehow the Twins have the tiebreaker over Texas and could get the 2 seed. I think there's a part that can be edited out.

Thanks. I worked on it pretty quickly and missed deleting that section.

  12. You think they'd start the game at 9 pm in Philly? I get that it makes the game more palatable for the D-Back fans... Nope, with 2 Eastern and 2 Central time zone games and 1 of the Central ones containing an Eastern team (Miami), I think Twins/'Stros would get the late start game.
  13. Nashville is a no brainer with the growth, younger skewing, money making population. San Jose (10th largest city in US) requested that MLB remove the Giants territorial rights from their city back in June so they can lure/pursue/expand a team, especially with the A's leaving the region. I think Monterrey is a better idea than Mexico City, due to elevation (1800ft vs. 7300ft above sea level), a generally more affluent population, and an overall closer proximity. Vancouver? (150 miles from Seattle)
  14. And I agree with a lot of what you said, but as someone who's languished with the never ending 'late' starts when the Wild are in the playoffs just so it fits the broadcaster's 'window', I like to p&m about it.
  15. My first thought is the Fathead is awesome so I would hesitate to have the strips overlap it at all. 2ndly, with the cards on the strips, the color of the strips will not be as noticeable as the pictured options. If it were me, and using your concept: I would use the strips, trimmed at an angle to line up with edge of the Fathead border (and not overhang), and paint the strips the same yellow as the border. It ties it all together, and with the cards displayed, I don't think the amount of visible yellow will overpower it.
  16. Thursday's schedule won't be set until they know how many games are to be played. You don't think they'll have a preset schedule? It's asking a lot for people to commit to a game that they have no idea when it will be played, literally within the next 12-15 hours or so. I've got a feeling that the scheduled start times will be identical for all 3 games of each series, just to have some sort of consistency. Since they all have their own 'window', you wouldn't need to change anything. Are the ratings 'really' going to be that different? It'd be one thing if there was even one day between games, but here, not announcing game 3 start times until after all game 2s are played, giving people almost no time to make/change arrangements, seems ludicrous.
  17. So...... I believe the FO stated that they were 'rounding third' in regards to figuring out who would be their jersey advertising sponsor of choice. Do you think that that jersey ad will be making it's first appearance on this year's MLB Playoffs Jersey or will they wait until next year? I'd think whoever the sponsor is going to be would be willing to spend a bit more to get the heightened visibility that a sure playoff team would get right out of the gate, especially if their patch is on the jerseys sold at retail.
  18. Byron meeting with Twins brass today to discuss his injury(s)/plan of attack going forward. https://www.startribune.com/byron-buxton-minnesota-twins-leaders-meeting-injuries/600303088/ Depending on how that meeting goes, I wonder if they'll be taking measurements to see if he'll fit in the TC Bear suit.
  19. opening scene of the film....
