  1. My initial thought is "Great, another David West/Ricky Nolasco guy who can't find the plate consistently, but has enough 'stuff' that everyone thinks they can 'fix' him. We will see.
  2. Sure they picked a lane, it's to completely cut costs to the bone and have no long term obligations on the books for the lockout that will happen after next year. Which also makes me wonder if there even really is a potential buyer in the wings.
  3. Guess it's time to pull out the ol' "Get To Know Them!" giveaway Tee from 1998 and browse StubHub for some seriously discounted tix.
  4. It will be interesting to hear why this was "years in the making" and how Securian (more than any other company) fits in with the "Twins' Way" 🤣
  5. The Twins have lost money (in theory, wink, wink) a couple of years recently, but certainly not to the tune of $400MM; It is surmised that the Pohlads have been using the Twins as 'collateral' to cover the losses they've had in their other (failed/failing) business ventures.
  6. More on this: https://www.cbssports.com/mlb/news/tampa-bay-rays-sale-mlb-team-in-advanced-talks-for-potential-1-7b-deal-with-florida-billionaire-per-report/
  7. Just some other stadium news..... https://www.barstoolsports.com/blog/3546452/the-chicago-fire-just-absolutely-cucked-jerry-reinsdorf-and-the-white-sox-out-of-their-potential-stadium-site
  8. "only 26"? Twins treat every 'iffy' player like they're losing the next Big Papi and seem to play out the string wayyyy to long. Now that the trade values have cratered just keep throwing them out there and hope for the best? SMH
  9. I thought it might be somewhat clear enough later to at least bang out the rest of Game 1 (as a 5 inning game), even if they did it without fans in the stands just to help out fitting the games into the season. They'd need what, an hour at most?
  10. From Cleveland.com: Tuesday’s game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader at Target Field beginning at 2:10 p.m. ET on Sept. 20.
  11. What about tonight's scheduled game? *just saw that both the 1st and 2nd games postponed; 1st game to resume at 12:10 tomorrow, followed by game 3. I guess game 2 (originally tonight's game) will need to be rescheduled....
  12. They couldn't call the game at 5 innings then turn around and start the 2nd game, could they?
  13. Seahawks for Lock.... https://www.profootballrumors.com/2025/04/qb-drew-lock-returning-to-seahawks
  14. Flacco to the Browns; so there goes that option..... https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/browns-signing-joe-flacco-to-one-year-deal-as-40-year-old-veteran-returns-to-revamped-qb-room/
  15. White Sox and A's would both be possibilities (regardless of Reisdorf's claims; for the right money everything is for sale, and both those teams are pursuing new stadiums (ie, development opps)).
  16. I see they managed to pry Richard Lovelady from between a couple of staves...... https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/04/twins-sign-richard-lovelady-to-minor-league-deal.html
  17. I'm just going to add: 4. Who else (including potential buyers) had any idea that the Twins were carrying over $400M in debt? I think we can agree that that is debt brought over from other Pohlad endeavors that haven't worked out so well. Their team/business, their choice. But, if that debt wasn't tied to the team, IMO, the team would have been sold by now.
  18. I think I'll just be doing some hunkering/idling for the next 6 months or so; trying to gauge what is going to happen is even more impossible now than ever and the daily whipsnap overreactions are all over the place. Glad I can afford to do so (there are some plusses to living within your means).
  19. I had heard rumors that they had switched to a new, highly discounted product from their water provider; I guess the new stuff is called "Kineti-No"
  20. It is certainly interesting at this point. Supposedly, the Steelers made their pitch to Rodgers and are awaiting to hear from him. Rodgers is supposedly looking for 2 years guaranteed. The Vikes need a backup/mentor QB. Atlanta wants to hold out, to extract max value from Cousins instead of just cutting him loose, by waiting to see what desperate teams might offer up. Gotta be honest, I think Kirko (for the vet minimum) would be the play here, him already knowing the team/playbook, over Rodgers/Carr?/Wentz?/unknown QB2; but we don't really have draft capital to give up either. Really don't want Rodgers here.

  22. Wow; crowd seems really light for the lineup; weather looks ideal; how long before 1st pitch?
  23. Brady Feigl comes aboard: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/02/twins-brady-feigl-agree-to-minor-league-deal.html
  24. Told you so... Posted January 30 I'm starting to think that all this quietness is in part that the Ishbias are waiting to see if the financing for the new White Sox stadium at "The 78" will be hammered out. As "mid single digit %" owners of the Sox, they would need to sell that before being allowed to buy the Twins; That said, the opportunity to buy the White Sox while a whole new development project is being built around the new stadium site (hmm, sound familiar?) would have to be appealing. Now, Chicago is broke, and getting the public financing is causing problems (again, sound familiar?), but when has that ever stopped a project from being pushed through? Obviously, the Twins would be a fabulous back-up plan...
