  1. Today's headline: Trump mulls debate boycott unless CNN donates $5M Or......... ......the moment we find out if CNN will negotiate with terrorists. http://cdn.makeagif.com/media/4-07-2015/pipu1m.gif
  2. It sounds like this guy's intent was to kill and strike fear into as many people as possible, but only people of a certain type: supporters, sympathizers, clients etc of Planned Parenthood. I maybe wouldn't label it "Christian terrorism" but it otherwise sounds like another act of domestic terror all the same.
  3. Remind me again which facts you are talking about?
  4. Ok, point taken. But when he's in the outfield he can always hit the cutoff man.....
  5. no such thing
  6. I think Revere makes a lot of sense on this team for 2016. He can play center or left if Buxton or Rosario spend any time in Rochester. Revere can hit at the top of the order, allowing Dozier to bat 2nd and Mauer to move down to around 7th. He can be a fourth outfielder and/or late inning pinch runner.
  7. How does losing the quarterback recruit figure into this?
  8. I'm beginning to like the Twins taking this risk a little more each day. Though we still need to do something about our corner jam (granted we're still in the "good problem to have" discussion) and planning for Sano to play outfield doesn't thrill me one bit.
  9. Green would probably get at least two years in the dugout regardless of how the Padres do. I think Gardy will be managing somewhere before those two years are up (I've been wrong about this before And yes managing a baseball team not a bowling team. It sounded ridiculous to me at first, but I guess Gardy could use a front office opportunity to educate himself and meet some new people employed by another organization, and not just shooting the **** in a tv studio with a bunch of retired guys, waiting for his number to be called. Though I still can't picture Gardy sitting in an office every day for too long.
  10. Actually you have a good point about that. But I was thinking of the McCain-Graham-Lieberman troika who constantly argued to send troops and more troops into every possible corner of the Mideast. That strategy would have required an unlimited recruiting budget, which naturally led recruiters to pay sports teams to maximize visibility. So something about McCain still doesn't quite add up for me.
  11. I'm curious why McCain is front man for this. Isn't he the front man for not questioning anything about the military?
  12. No wonder pitchers in Korea don't have fastballs. By custom, they throw 20-25 innings worth of pitches to just get warmed up, before they even throw a pitch in the game. (though I also wouldn't be surprised if Nitkowski is stretching it for effect, either.)
  13. Good observations.
  14. Jesse also held elected office (was mayor of a Twin Cities suburb) before campaigning for governor. However wacko and insane he turned out, he did mean well, and kind of followed the process. Trump's just a xenophobic loudmouth doing this for his own amusement, IMO.
  15. Translation = Miami could start by offering Fernandez, but they would really need to sweeten the pot?
  16. Sounds good! I still think that broadcaster's true calling is in golf, however....
  17. Quite impressive regardless of the pitcher. I can't watch that second video without thinking I'm actually hearing a Bubba Watson tee shot in the U.S. Open.
  18. Lots of people have said this, but I don't buy it. I don't think Santana deserves the blame (I know this isn't a blaming thread, sorry) for what happened with the other deficiencies in the lineup. Also, the Twins were 49-40 going into the All Star break. Hard to see how Santana would have made them 53-36 or better! Otherwise I can't disagree with the rest of your list too much.
  19. God is struggling right now. No reason the Vikings shouldn't run roughshod over Him today.
  20. So what is catching depth in this organization now? 1. Suzuki 1a. Murphy 3. Fryer 4. ?? 5. ????? I can't recall ever needing to go much beyond #3, but it's looking pretty thin if we need to, it seems.
  21. On the contrary, school/church/theater shootings are quite calculated also. EDIT: though I think you were referring to the everyday gun violence Dave was talking about. Sorry about that, Chief. I think I need to step out of this conversation for my sanity.
  22. Yet this makes Kepler appealing to Miami as the centerpiece (with Berrios) of a trade for Fernandez?
  23. I do agree with your window comment, however. But I think the Twins would prefer to play the long game in that hypothetical transaction.
