    I don't think any team has a single day where all 26 players at the top of the depth chart are healthy.

    Eventually the teams that value marginal wins at $10M run out of roster spots. Then you have to go to the mid-market teams that value marginal wins at $7-8M. Finally, you end up with teams that put little value on marginal wins because they aren't trying to win this year but are willing to sign free agents to 1-year deals hoping they can be moved for future value at the trade deadline.

    Plenty of off-days to start the season. I wouldn't worry about having a long reliever until the 4/11 road trip at the earliest.

    With most pitchers ERA projecting better than FIP it must be assuming good defense behind these pitchers.

    I remember some discussion that his growth plate in his elbow might not have completely fused. That may be just speculation. He is still really young and is probably not maxed out physically.

    I saw Balazovic and Duarte on the NRI invite list for spring training. I assume that means they cleared waivers.

    Why would the top of the rotation pitcher have to cost very little? The Twins would have $35M of payroll space available. I grant that it isn't easy to find a match. The Twins would have to find a team with a big budget, a hole at SS and a desire to rebuild quickly. The Giants and Red Sox fit that description. They would need to get Correa to approve the trade. Then they would need to either allocate that money to a free agent like Snell or Montgomery or find a team who wants to trade an expensive, top of the rotation starter. This all goes back to Brooks Lee. The Twins have a potential solution for a 2025 starting SS in AAA. They don't have anyone to take that spot at the top of the rotation sitting in the minor leagues.

    I saw another evaluator before the draft use Kyle Tucker as a comp. I think Jenkins is producing better than Tucker at the same age.

    Let someone else make that mistake. Brandon Woodruff is a 30 year old pitcher with a serious shoulder injury. Ask Glen Perkins how that works out.

    Then he's really not as good of a player as everyone says he is. You can't have it both ways. Either Correa is an elite talent or he's not. If he's not worth a highly paid #2 starting pitcher in trade then he's not an elite talent.

    There is essentially no difference between #4 and #5 on a prospect list.

    I think Correa is terrific. He's also taking up 25% of the Twins' tiny budget and is one of the few players who would return elite starting pitching talent in a trade.

    DH or 1B, I agree. The other option is to trade another infielder next winter.

    What is your minimum acceptable performance vs LHP? 700 OPS? You would want at least 50% confidence that he's performing at or above that level. That's (guessing, didn't look these up) 1000 OPS after 30 at-bats or 900 OPS after 60 at-bats. 800 OPS after 120 at-bats in AAA would give you good confidence that he can hit with a 700 OPS in MLB.

    Statcast, Stabilization Rates, and Data-Driven Decisions (redscontentplus.com) If they don't use data, they're just guessing that he's ready. It takes 60-120 plate appearances to get good data. The prior 100 plate appearances (2023) say he's NOT ready. All I'm saying is they should get an equal amount of plate appearances that say he IS ready before he's promoted.

    Plus, he will get maybe 5 at-bats vs LHP in Spring Training. He needs 50-100 ABs versus lefties to know whether he's ready for a promotion.

    The baseball smarts remind me of Molitor or Ripken Jr. His fundamentals are terrific which will allow him to play above his athletic abilities. The only reason to keep him in the minors is to develop his switch hitting. I like Correa but I would consider trading Correa to make room for Lee when he's ready.

    They have somehow put together a top-rated bullpen with Caleb Thielbar as the most expensive player.

    I think the Cubs will get Chapman or Bellinger. Maybe both. The Giants and Angels are also still shopping.

    As a personal note, post here if you see Gordon jerseys or shirseys on clearance at the pro shops. I have relatives with that last name who would probably want a Gordon Twins jersey at a discount.

    If you look at the organization the Twins need another LH relief pitcher more than they need another lefthanded outfielder. Okert is slightly above average and that's pretty good for a 2nd lefty reliever. This frees up a spot on the roster for Larnach or Martin or a different free agent addition. Good luck to Nick Gordon in Miami.
