    The roster isn't bad except: The unfortunate Buxton debacle of the past 2 yrs. Don't know what else to call it The bullpen could have been much better. If the bullpen hasn't been ignored the last off-season, the twins are pry an easy second playoff seed. Joey Gallo

    I would rather Ryan start game 3 with Kenta and Ober in the bullpen at the expense of Paddock. I doubt Buxton plays in the 3 game series, I would go with Larnoch over both him and Gallo I am hoping that the Twins get the second seed. They are only 3.5 games back and I really hope that the lineups the rest of the game don't resemble spring training game lineups or get away day lineups

    Paddock was also. I think it was simply the Twins wanted Buxton there just in case they clinched. But I see Gordon played for the saints last night. And I didn't see Stewart or Gallo in the celebration

    The Astros are the last team I want to face in the playoffs on the AL side of things. This team may not be as good as the teams in the past but they are a very good team and have been there before, and WON. I think anybody who writes the Astros off does so at their own peril. They will be fired up and know what it takes to win, which makes them much more dangerous then a team that hasn't been there and is just hoping their best is enough to win.

    I think it is really important we get Brock Stewart back and healthy and sharp for our bullpen. With him, Varland, Theilbar, Duran Jax Pagan and Kenta I like that bullpen.

    Arraez was a fan favorite for a reason. I think the vast majority of fans were sad to see him go, I was. But if we still had him, where are Polanco and Julien and Kirilloff and Lewis getting their at bats, especially with Buxton eating up the Lions share of DH B4 he went on the DL. I think the anger on the trade was overstated by to create a storyline. I believe that a lot of people would have wished to have kept Arraez, but it made more sense to trade him so they could shore up a position of weakness from one they had an abundance from. I think this is one of the rare trades that benefitted both teams and the players involved.

    Sawyer Gipson-Long started for the Tigers today. Went 5 innings, gave up 2ER struck out 5 didn't walk anybody. Got the win. It was his major league debut. Good for that young man.

    I wonder if the front office learned anything by not addressing the bullpen the past two years. Wouldn't it be something if they went after Josh Hader in free agency? Can you imagine him and Jax and Duran and a possibly healthy Stewart in the back end of the bullpen. Wow.

    The should bring somebody up. I don't understand the point of having Cole Sands on the roster if you aren't going to pitch him.

    Like many others it was my dad. He always had the game on the radio, WNAX out of Yankton. I fell in love to the Twins listening to Herb Carneal and John Gordon. Kent Hrbek was my favorite player. Often in the summer dad, my sister and I would go fishing in the evenings and him and I would listen to the game on the radio and my sister would wonder off somewhere and it always seemed like she could more fish then the both of us put together! Good times

    I think keuchel has a small roll on this team. I don't think anybody believes that he is a lights out pitcher. Maybe....just maybe ...the twins can catch lightning in a bottle and use him for 6-8 starts and have him eat 30-45 innings out of the starting rotation and skip/rest the other 5 pitchers in the rotation to make sure they are fresh for the rest of the yr/playoffs. A month or 6 weeks from now he gets released with some heartfelt thanks for a job well done and everybody moves on. Or maybe they keep him for bullpen veteran exp. But it seems to me he is on borrowed time at the big league level with the twins.

    I can't wait to see Lewis in with this offense now that it's started to click. He will be huge for this team once he gets back thru the end of the yr.

    This team to me has the feel of the 1987 team. I'm not sure why, but it does. Maybe bc both of them had/have given plenty of reasons why they would lose.

    I have scrapbooks from when I was just a wee lad from when they won in 87 and 91 Mostly made from the Argus Leader news stories. My mom put them together for me bc I never missed a game on the radio. They are pretty cool

    The Wallner fan club is growing by the day! This young man can play! If he keeps this up I can't believe when Lewis/Buxton comes off of the DL that Gallo keeps his spot.

    You missed the joke.....I think 🤔 Michael Taylor has 14 hr, his career best is 19, the author mentioned that, but then said he was 4 HR away from tying his career best. Another poster caught it and mentioned it and Mr. Braun said he was a history major. I was trying to give him a math problem using MAT HR totals in the equation using history to help out. It was tongue in cheek but the best I had.

    So.... In 1914 King Ferdinand was assassinated which led to WWI By 1919 WWI was over. How many years later was that? (I know it was 1918 but the joke doesn't work otherwise).

    I am not buying argument 2 or 3. Maybe I am misreading the intent but I feel the combination of those two points is basically the very best this team can do is win the weakest division in baseball, or this team is so pathetic that it doesn't make sense to improve it. I don't believe either of those things. This team could have been improved on for a playoff run. Thielbar is back, Lewis is scheduled for rehab assignment next week. Hopefully Brock Stewart MRI reveals nothing serious and we have him back by Sept. Those 3 players are good and can really help this team. This team is a good team, anything can happen in the playoffs, but if Buck and C4 and Vasquez don't produce, this team won't reach it's full potential.

    I think they should trade Kenta. Sonny Gray's bulldog mentality is what you want should you make the playoffs. And if you don't make the playoffs, you put qualifying offer on him, and he doesn't walk for nothing. Besides you only need 4 starters in the playoffs and Gray, Lopez, Ryan, and Ober are pretty good.

    Man, I can't hardly imagine a more dominant bullpen than Duran, Hader, Jax, a healthy Stewart, Thielbar, JB, with Floro and Pagan (in low level situations only) with the starters we have. I would put that pitching staff against anyone. If the offense is merely average, that's a team that should win a lot of games.

    Honestly, how many games in a row have we won in a row in the royals?? Can't win every game. We had our best pitcher with the game on the line. It didnt work out. Get em tomorrow.

    Polanco is taking reps at third in ST Paul so Julian can stay with the big club when he returns. It was on mlbtraderumors
