  1. If the Twins had Arraez instead of Pablo Lopez, who takes the starts that Lopez currently has gotten? Varland? Don't get me wrong, I love the watching him pitch, but he was demoted for a reason. Woods-richerdson? Given his troubles thus far in AAA, pry not. BH? He has been okay, so maybe... I'm not so sure the Twins are better off with Arreaz vs. Lopez. I love watching Arraez play baseball but the Twins offense is so bad at this point they are unwatchable and I am not convinced Arraez hitting two singles a game (as awesome and fun as it is to watch) really moves the needle that much.
  2. The real question is, when was the last time Pagan wasnt instremental in a Twins loss vs a twins win? That is where all the viritol comes from. Him costing the Twins wins, not saving them from defeats
  3. I predict the starting pitching to be excellent, the offense to be non existent and the bullpen to not be good enough to hold the Atlanta offense at bay. I would be surprised if the twins win one game in this series.
  4. Nice, well thought out article. If Buxton is simply not an option, I would love to see Celistino (sp?) step up offensively. He may have another gear there, and is second time seeing AAA pitching he put up some nice numbers, maybe that could happen at the major leagues with a second prolonged look 🤷
  5. I like the pitch challenge. I can't imagine how long the games would be if this was implemented in MLB and Angel Hernandez is behind the plate.
  6. I was thinking maybe he did it also bc he really likes the Miranda vs Bummer match up. Like he was daring them to bring him in in a critical situation. I wasn't being critical, just hadn't noticed before.
  7. Interesting to me that he is stacking up the lefties in the middle of the lineup, especially with Bummer lurking in the pen. I know Miranda bats right, but I don't think the lefties have been so close together before in the lineup.
  8. Holman's dream lives on... however temporarily.
  9. I posted this in the other thread but I'll post it here also bc I really am curious. Maybe a trade or injury? But why? This move along with the Gallo is very puzzling to me? Who is your bench? Jeffers, Taylor, Farmer and one of Gordon or Solano? Are we running with 14 position players? Are planning on using St Paul as "resting " not official DL place for pitching? This is puzzling.

  11. I am surprised by the insistence of people that RL will not be ready until the middle of July. I don't buy it. When I was 21 I had the unfortunate experience of tearing my ACL. This was over 20 yrs ago. I can tell you I am not, and never have by any stretch of the imagination, been a world class athlete 🤣. However, I was playing racquetball and basketball 4 months after surgery. I understand it's back to back years and there is pry caution involved due to monatery investment by the team but for 1 would not be surprised to see him playing baseball at a high level before July.
  12. I don't believe the young guys will be traded. I feel like it is more of the established veteran type like a Polanco, or a Kepler or even Gray that gets traded. If the kids show value in AAA I think the Twins keep that value and trade the more established veteran to a team looking for that one last piece for the playoffs.
  13. I get that. But if McKenzie and Bieber get injured Cleveland is sunk. If the Twins lose any 2 of Gray/Lopez/Ryan/Mahle they are in a much better situation to still be successful. One could even argue that Cleveland losing 1 of their top guys in the starting staff would be more detrimental to the club than the Twins losing all of their top 3 to injury, whichever top 3 you want to pick.
  14. If the Twins started a 6 man rotation and also had a 6 man rotation in AAA, the AAA rotation would have more upside than what they trotted out in Minneapolis in 2022 after Ryan and Gray. St Paul could start Winder, SWR, Jordan B, Varland, Ronny H, and Cole Sands. That would assume Ober starts with the big club. That doesn't leave a AAA starting spot even with 6 man rotations at the big club and St Paul for Dobnak, Derek Rodriquez, recently signed Aaron Sanchez, or Jose Deleon. However, if you want to make the argument that Ronny H and Cole Sands should be in the bullpen, than that would open up a spot and with the inevitable injury or two...but it seems to me we have a lot of starters, much higher quality and depth at AAA than we had in the rotation at the big club to start last year. And that doesn't even count Paddock who may be back as soon as July or August.
  15. Comp A and Comp B picks can be traded by MLB
  16. I still think once they can put 40 man roster guys on the DL, they will sign a guy like Chafin, Moore, Hand or a Fulmer. If none of those guys are available I think the front office is comfortable rolling with what they have. I also think that's why if Kep gets traded it will be for prospects or a comp round pick or both
  17. I think the Twins roster is pretty much set, although I would love for them to sign Chafin or Moore. That being said, I think the Twins should over the course of the next year look to trade Kepler and Polanco for the best prospects they can get regardless of position. I just think with the outfielders they have and the infield depth (catcher notwithstanding) and the starting pitching depth that prospects is their best bet
  18. Is this just insurance for Cellestino (sp?, Sorry) to get some AAA seasoning? And for Lewis to heal up? I can't imagine Lewis will play infield any more on a regular basis with who the starters are. Who does Kepler get traded for now? Bullpen help? I would rather they sign Chafin or Moore. I can't see the Twins keeping Kepler. At this point maybe he is getting traded for prospects.
  19. I think something is being forgotten here. The Mets were willing to spend almost 50 million a year to get Correa. How much were the Mets willing to have Correa cost them between contract and fees a yr? 60 million? 70 million? At almost a 400 million dollar payroll does 10 or 20 million more a year really make a difference? Does anyone here think that with the Twins former top offer at 28.5 million a year that this is a bidding war they could win? Their best chance to get Correa was before the SFG fiasco not after. Still can't wrap my head around the fact the front office sat on their hands and then put forth an offer for their top priority so much lower than what it would realistically take to get the deal done
  20. Is it late to hope he fails his physical?
  21. There was that Tommy Herr trade......
