Channeling my inner Mike Sixel…. that’s why the Win Stat for Pitchers is stupid and we shouldn’t use it, let’s throw the baby out with the bath water -
Atteberry on ‘CCO described it more like he was mad than rattled. Between the errors and a couple pitches where both the hitter and the catcher were confused as to why a pitch was called the way it was.

It’s really hard to stay engaged with the game thread with all the whining and moaning. When it comes down to the state of the forums… it shouldn’t be all sunshine and roses, but it has to be fun.

It’s kind of a stretch to expect to consistently have a 2-3 WAR utility player coming out of your farm system every 3-6 years.

Agreed with the kudos for Cody Christie. I do love me some alliteration! 4th in the AL, 8th in MLB is upper third. Not exactly “complete 180”. certainly more respect among peers than among rubes, but generally you see that phenomenon. I do believe it’s a good front office, well run organization and it’s clear the strategic vision from Falvey manifests itself in every aspect of operations. That’s the sign of great leadership. Leadership is only one (albeit important) aspect of effectiveness. They still need to prove consistency. so far 2024 is fairly consistent with 23, but YOY over their tenure has been wildly inconsistent. Achieving goals is the unclear part about their organizational effectiveness. I don’t know where their sites are set… but either they aren’t achieving them very often or the bar is set low. all in all, they’re fine and my gripe is mainly with modern baseball more than Falvey

Love this post one quibble. MLB.TV is owned by the MLB, so a streaming service offered would be 100% going to MLB and the Twins. If the MLB and Twins went halvsies the Twins would need 750k subscribers to hit $45m in revenue. no cable company and no distribution network means fewer mouths to feed

https://theathletic.com/5271325/2024/02/12/qa-dave-st-peter-bally-rsn-twins/ while I am super frustrated with The Twins, BSN and the watching options available… the article links above paints a picture without actually laying the blame, that the MLB strong armed the Twins into taking the 1 year deal with BSN and not accept a streaming rights deal in prep for an MLB package coming for 2025. i frickin’ hate DSP…. But that changed my perspective a bit. i hate this TV watching option this season, and pretty much the whole damn situation including laying blame at Pohlad and DSP, but also MlB too. this never should have gotten this far

Welcome to TD! John mentioned Fubu as a cable option in the article, but not as a streaming. True, it’s kinda both, as you buy a bundle of channels like cable, but unlike cable Fubu (YouTube tv, etc) doesn’t have the wire attached to the service.

Functionally, I’m happy with the forums. Echoing others, not a fan of threaded posts. Super-duper hate SB Nation Agreed with Squirrel 😱 that the forums are a bit too granular. on the disjointed discussions, remember when we merged forum topics and article comments that converged? Everyone hated it, it was a pain in the ass for the moderators, tons of complaints, from posters, but the topics were well organized. I’m not sure we “really want” to fix it, at least in a straight forward manner
