  1. Twins win, 1-0!! Or Mets win, 1-0 on an unearned run...
  2. mlb.tv is giving me the loading circle of death. I'm gonna turn on Mel Jass.
  3. Wow, I had forgotten all about Mel Jass. What a blast from the past.
  4. Well, one out of one is a high percentage, but a pretty small sample size.
  5. As we are constantly reminded, April games count just as much as September games. Mr. Rule 5 was bad this spring. Do we want to have him blow three games to see if that is really the case? I'm not a huge Dobnak guy, but if he gives us the best chance to win April games I'm ready to see him.
  6. Last year's first baseman had an OPS of .749 and people were excited. We might get that this year, but with a lot less defense than either Joe or Santana.
  7. The Twins started calling him "Bluegill" Hughes during that hot start, after Catfish Hunter. DIdn't end well, but it was a fun start.
  8. I want to know what was up with Morrison in 2017. He hit 38 homers, previous career highs were 23 and 17. OPS+ was 133, his best year by far. Twins signed him late and he sulked about not getting a multi-year contract from anyone. Bad year with us in 2018 (95 games, OPS+ of 74, thanks for the memories), played 29 games with the Phillies 2019, played 9 games with the Brewers in 2020. Never appeared in the majors again. Played in Triple A (16 games) in 2021, then finished in Indy ball in 2022. What happened in 2017?? (and a followup, what did every major league club know or suspect that led to him getting a late one-year deal?) If it was some kind of performance-enhancing something, he had the best doctor in the history of baseball. I know performance fluctuates, obviously, but...wow.
  9. Or he went to a park where warning track flies were either homers or doubles? I remember him saying the Sox told him just to swing away.
  10. To quote Christopher Walken on SNL: I Need. More. Wallner. Enough with the pinch-hitting for him.
  11. Let's hope that he pitches again soon. As in, before 2026.
  12. He's throwing, anyway. Not so sure about the pitching. Rough year.
  13. Aaron Hicks.
  14. Yup, a week of spring training should be enough to get all those kinks out. 🙄
  15. Once he saw that the Sox signed Clevinger, Gallo, and Michael A. Taylor he immediately thought "That's the kind of free agent aggressiveness I want to have". The Twins had no chance after those power moves.
  16. oooh, Molitor's a great choice...
  17. Rich Becker, for the win!
  18. Yeah, plus it's the A's so there isn't much risk anyway. Will it keep them out of the playoffs? Will it turn off the Sacramento fans? Ownership doesn't care.
  19. I was gonna go with Knoblauch, now I'll say Todd Walker.
  20. Paddack has a track record of some success, and real upside potential. It's only right to give him a shot at starting. If it isn't working by May 1 though it's time to consider making a change.
  21. I just hope he’s in the best shape of his life.
  22. Great, now my Butch Huskey PTSD (OPS+ 64) is starting to put sparks behind my eyes. Thanks, Stu. Thanks a lot.
