  1. I love a lineup starting with Martin, Keaschal then Buxton. If we can ever find a power hitting first baseman it would really lengthen the lineup. Maybe Fedko works out there. My guess is we'll be seeing Clemens at first next year....
  2. I think we stick with Lee at SS next year, at least until Culpeper is ready to take over full-time. Our OF is suddenly getting real crowded. Outman and Roden shouldn't be in MLB, and Larnach could probably net us a solid reliever in a trade. Martin has been playing and hitting well enough to be a starting left fielder or 4rth OF. I'd go with Martin, Buxton and Jenkins, with Gonzalez and Rodriguez following. Wallner should be a DH. At first base I'd see if Fedko can be an option along with Clemens. I'd rather see them sign someone, but I don't think that'll happen until our prospects are all in the majors and the team looks to be competing.
  3. If Fedko can continue hitting like this in the MLB I wonder if we see a platoon of Fedko and Clemens at 1st base next year. Or will they sign someone like Josh Naylor to a one year deal?
  4. I really don't understand. With a season this lost, why are we not using the expanded roster to audition young guys for positions next year? Outman is beyond embarrassing with his 50 percent K rate. Why not give Mccusker starts, he's already on the roster. Why not let Fedko get starts at first to see if he's a viable option there next year. We should be holding open auditions in the pen especially. Other than Sands and Topa, I don't expect any of these guys to be back next year, so why not try out guys like Raya, Adams, Prelipp, Morris or anyone else who looks like they can remotely get outs. We have major holes in our roster to fill, why the heck not use the rest of the year to see if we can fill any of them internally?!?
  5. I actually believe the Twins can be a .500 team and compete for a wildcard spot in 2026. That is IF we keep Lopez, Ryan and Buxton. Call up Jenkins and maybe E Rodriguez or Gonzalez/Fedko early on. They sign a real MLB first baseman, probably to a one year deal. I can see them going after someone like Josh Naylor. Clemens and or Fedko as backup. The pen is going to be the problem. Sands and Topa can be penciled in. Funderburk is not the solution for our lefty. They need to sign Coloumbe or another lefty, one or two relievers and then fill out the rest with our AAA SP arms like Festa, Abel, Raya, Prelipp, Morris, Adams....if enough of these arms work out as solid relievers, we could be relevant as soon as next year However, I think they trade Ryan in the off-season and Buxton will waive his no trade clause and be moved at the deadline after a disastrous first half...
  6. I think Zebby has passed both Festa and SWR on the pecking order. Lopez, Ryan, Ober, Mathews, SWR/ Bradley/Abel/Festa is the way I see it. A decent amount of our young SP are going to have to get innings in the pen next year.....
  7. Klein could be a potential pen arm next year. Guys like Adams, Ohl, Festa, Raya and Prelipp should all get looks. We need to rebuild our pen from scratch, so anyone who they don't think can stick as a starter could be a relief option.
  8. Glad Adams is getting a real look in the pen. They should be doing the same with Ohl, Raya and Prelipp. I think Festa could be an eventual closer some day if he can get healthy.
  9. Both Miranda and Julien seem like DFA candidates. We could probably sign them to a minor league deal and give them another year to figure it out in St Paul without taking up a roster spot.
  10. A 2026 OF of Buxton, Jenkins, E-Rod and Gonzalez or Martin could be fun to watch. Larnach is probably gone and Wallner is a DH. Roden and Outman are not major league players. Why is Outman even in MLB over someone like Fedko? A 40-50 percent K rate is just embarrassing.....
  11. The only way to get us interested in the team next year would be to call up all our top prospects that are in AAA. A lineup with a healthy Buxton, Keaschal, Jenkins, Rodriguez and maybe a few more young and athletic players could be fun to watch. Of course our pitching will blow any lead we may have, so there's that.....
  12. There are a lot of hitters in AA and AAA to be very excited about. Jenkins, Rodriguez, Gonzalez, Fedko, Rosario, Culpeper, Eeles. What I worry about is the pitching. Seemingly every arm we have at our top levels either cannot throw strikes or are getting lit up all year. If all our starters who looked good last year like Adams, Morris, Lewis continue to get worse we're in trouble. Especially when you consider that none of the arms we picked up at the deadline have looked anywhere near serviceable other than maybe Bradley. But again, waaay too many walks. Seems to be a team problem with all our young guys
  13. Martin doesn't have the defensive versatility to be a Willi Castro utility guy. I'd put Martin in left field and MAYBE center field in a pinch. He has made improvements with the bat. No power to speak of, but if he can hit for a high avg and get on base a lot, he could steal bases and score runs at the top of the lineup. Just needs to work on base running and not make so many mental mistakes. Solid 4rth OF I would say....
  14. This sounds like a very desperate attempt at making him sound passable. Bench bat at best...
  15. Way too many walks. Hard to say anyone has a good month when they have almost as many walks as innings pitched....
  16. My guess is that some of these AAA SP are going to be converted to relief work. Especially with a major league bullpen that needs to be completely rebuilt.
  17. I'd like to see Fedko or Wallner/Larnach over at first. Clemens can be backup/bench bat. Too bad he's a lefty too though, which we have way too many of.
  18. Pretty close to what I was thinking. We have a lot of talent in the OF and guys will be competing for playing time. I think Larnach and eventually Roden and Outman need to go in order for guys like Jenkins, Rodriguez, Gonzalez, Rosario and Fedko can have a chance. It will also be interesting to see how they evaluate all of the pitching we have. Who starts, who is relief, who is a little of both. Should be fun watching guys settle into their new roles.
  19. If he can start to make more contact and cut down on the strikeouts while maintaining his HR pop, I think he could be a decent to solid DH hitting 5th or 6th. Play him in RF when the matchups are favorable but otherwise DH him. We have a ton of athletic outfielders coming up that are going to need playing time and just about all of them are going to be better defensively than Wally.
  20. Both Tait and Jimenez both have looked like the real deal since coming to MN. Small sample size of course, but we'll keep our fingers crossed they can keep this up and become our long term catching duo of the future. I think Rosario has more than earned himself a promotion to AAA. Maybe they call up Fedko to open a spot on the roster. Good to see Morris having success coming off his injury. I always thought he had way too good of stuff to be struggling as much as he had. We have so many SP now, it's going to be interesting to see how they evaluate and sort through everyone. They need to somehow decide who will be a true starter, who will pitch in the pen, who can be long relief. I think they will be doing some piggyback starts to get as many innings for as many starters as they can.
  21. I think Wallner COULD be a viable middle of the order bat if he improves upon a few things. He needs to cut down on the K's and make more contact. Right now he is a true 3 outcome hitter. It's HR, walk, or nothing. I think we should see if he can play first base. DH would be best for him but it would hurt his value. Maybe it's best to DH him regularly and have him play RF only on a part time basis. Next year will be important for him to put a good season together because a lot of younger options are coming up soon. Guys like Fedko, Rodriguez, Gonzalez, Rosario, and eventually Jenkins. I think guys like Larnach, Outman and Roden should be long gone.
  22. So tired of the back and forth will they won't they. Either sell the team and give us long suffering fans some relief, or keep the team and actually admit we are going to be going through a multi year rebuild with an eye on competing for real in 2027-28
  23. I think it's pretty clear Gasper is not a viable backup catcher for next year, so why not swap him for Cardenas to see if he's an option. We need to know whether we've got a viable #2 catcher in the organization or if we have to sign someone. With our limited budget that money needs to be spent elsewhere. I'd love to see Eeles, I really think he can be our next "Castro" moving around as utility guy. He's the exact type of player that the team is trying to mold their game around. High energy, great contact, high obp, stolen bases, defensive versatility. That said, I don't think we'll see him until next year until he NEEDS to be added to the roster. Fedko is one I'd call up now. Guys like Roden and Outman won't hit enough to be big leaguers and I'm kind of thinking Larnach will be traded or released. Martin can be a decent 4rth outfielder but if Fedko can be a RH power bat in LF, that would lengthen our lineup a lot. Let's see what he can do. If E Rodriguez is healthy I wouldn't mind seeing him get a shot as well. Time to see what the future holds as we are going to be relying on a lot of youth and inexperience until we come out the other side of this rebuild. Sorry, "re-tooling" lol 😆 . We have a lot of interesting bats coming up through the high minors. It is our pitching that concerns me. We've got all the depth in the world but high end talent has been hard to find
  24. They are different players for sure, but having them both on the roster at the same time feels a bit redundant. They are both bad defenders but Wallner at least had the cannon. Larnach hits for better AVG and doesn't K as much as Wallner, but Wally will hit more HR. I'd say hold onto Wallner. If he can raise his AVG a bit and cut down on the K's he can be a legit middle of the order power threat. Maybe he can DH more and eventually play 1st base which would add to his value. With Jenkins, E Rodriguez, Gonzalez, Fedko and Rosario all possible outfielders that are close, I think Larnach is expendable. Same with Outman and Roden. I really have no idea what they were thinking acquiring those two automatic outs lol
  25. If the Twins are likely to trade Jeffers because of his salary, why would they go and acquire Adley when he's a bit MORE expensive? I expect the Twins to bring in a couple minor league signing catchers and pick the one who looks the best defensively as our back up. They'll hope Jeffers has a good first half so that we can trade him at the deadline and get something for him. By that time one of our AA or AAA catchers should be ready to get called up. Gonna be a long season either way.....
