    Keirsey continues to just keep on hitting and hitting. Good thing the Twins don't need a productive outfielder at all, especially one who can man center field in the absence of Mr Glass, I mean Buxton. Good news that Headrick is back. I don't think he'll be eligible for the post season, but he's probably a better lefty option than Theilbar. Looks like Winder has had some really good outings lately, kind of surprised he hasn't been called up considering the state of our pen...

    I also think that the twins should be developing these young hitters to focus on one or two defensive positions and learn to play them well, rather than trying to have them sporadically play all over the place. They do this, then these guys get to the majors and are a defensive liability and have to learn a position at the major league level. Definitely not ideal ..

    It's pretty clear Theilbar is done for and will be gone after this season. The only reason he still has an MLB roster spot is because he is our only lefty. We definitely need to sign one, if not two lefties for our pen next year. Theilbar and Okert will be gone and Funderburk doesn't inspire any confidence.

    It's hard not to be excited about our pitchers coming up. Varland and probably Paddack are relief pitchers, they need to be in the pen where the MLB team can get the most value out of them. I think if the Twins can sign a decent starter like Kikuchi or Flaherty in the off-season to a one or two year deal, it'll give all these prospects the development time they need in order to be ready for their debuts in 2026. With one more FA starter we could have a real good rotation of Lopez, Ober, Ryan, SWR, FA Then we'd have some good depth and injury insurance waiting in AAA with Festa, Mathews, Morris and all the rest.

    Watching Pablo the last two years, he just looks like a second half pitcher. He gets by good enough in the first half of the year and then after the ASB, he kicks it into another gear and pitches like a true ace. While it'd be nice to see him at this level early on in the season, pitching at his best in September and October is way more important. He's definitely our ace. I think if we could sign someone like Kikuchi or Flaherty on a one or two year deal in the off-season, to give Zebby and Morris some time at AAA, we'd have a solid MLB rotation with Lopez, Ryan, Ober and SWR. Varland and Paddack should go to the pen.

    Zebby is one of our most intriguing arms coming up. However, he should never have had to make his debut this year. He only had a handful of starts in AA, but he did pitch well. He only got what, 3 AAA starts and he got hit around a bit. If we had legit major league depth and didn't need to rush our young guys because of injuries, Zebby should have finished the year in St Paul and then started there next year. Relying on rookies for 3/5ths of a potential playoff rotation is super risky. I think SWR and Festa have both earned a rotation spot next year. Zebby and Morris could use a bit more seasoning. If we sign a decent starter on a one or two year deal to stick in the rotation, I like our depth in AAA. Of course as we've found out the hard way, you can NEVER have too much pitching!

    I thought we'd see Keirsey when Margot went on the IL. Of course, with this teams obsession with utility players who don't play any position that well, but can technically be put all over the field, we got Helman. Now I'm just hoping Kepler goes on the IL next for his knee. They would have to finally call up Keirsey then, wouldn't they? Either way, I'm excited for all these bats coming up. The OF alone we have Jenkins, E-Rod, Rosario, Keirsey, Mccusker. I hadn't heard much about Mccusker, but looking at his stats he could be a RH OF bats with some home run potential. As long as some of these prospects pan out, we should be in a good place depth wise offensively. Meaning the tiny bit of money the team will have can be spent on fixing our mess of a bullpen and building some rotation depth.

    Utility guys are way over valued by Rocco. Sure the flexibility is nice, but really you don't need more than one guy. You end up with two or three guys who can play anywhere sure, but they end up without a true position and end up not playing any of them well. I think you're better off just getting outfielders who play the OF well and infielders who play the IF well. Martin and Margot are horrible in the OF. Julien is bad in the infield. We definitely need to shore up our poor defense if we don't want to be embarrassed in the playoffs. The stolen bases are a problem too. Whenever there are runners on the corners it's like we just concede the first runner stealing second without even a throw, just because there's a runner on third. Pretty sad... Bottom line we need Buxton and Correa back as there not only our best bats when they're playing well, but they're our best defensive players as well at premium positions. Too bad they all never play together ..

    He's a AAA injury insurance type of player. This organization really values these utility type guys who can play multiple positions. Sure, it is nice to have that versatility. The problem is, when playing that many positions, rarely do these players play any of them exceptionally well. Passable at best. I'm glad Helman got his shot finally, but when Buck gets activated this weekend I think that'll be it for him, unless Kepler goes on the IL now. I still would have rather gotten a look at Keirsey to see if his success in St Paul this year would translate to the big leagues.

    Jenkins may not be hitting tons of home runs, but he's collecting doubles like crazy. Dudes still really young so I expect some of that extra base pop will turn into home runs as he builds up and develops more power. I think he probably starts at A+ next year. Hopefully he'll finally stay healthy and put up a solid, full year of production, leaving a late season promotion to AA a possibility. Jenkins will be a lot of fun to watch for a lot of years, as long as we can somehow keep him healthy and keep him from turning into a brittle, injury probe Buxton or Lewis...

    Just takes him a while to find his groove and get a feel for what he has that day. Next year we should have a solid, if not super sexy, rotation. Lopez, Ryan and Ober. Then we have SWR and Festa at 4 and 5. Paddack and Varland to the bullpen. Then we have Zebby and Morris in AAA as depth along with hopefully at least one SP free agent signing. Someone like Flaherty or someone who can raise our rotations floor and ceiling for the next 2-3 years. At least provide injury insurance until some of our younger guys like Raya, Lewis Prelipp and Soto are ready.

    He absolutely crushed the ball when he makes contact. With that cannon of an arm and improving defense I think he's a real good option for the everyday right field job next year, even against lefty pitchers. If Wallner can just keep his strikeout numbers within reason, like under 30 percent, I think he'll be a good power threat in the middle of our lineup. If he can stay healthy all year I think a line of .250 BA with 25-30 HR is well within his ability. Wallner, Buxton and Larnach/E Rodriguez/ Keirsey or Martin/Castro looks like a legit OF on paper. I still hope they sign a true CF as Buxton insurance. Someone who can hold down the OF for another year until we're sure Rodriguez and/or Rosario are ready for everyday big league at bats.

    How about a dominant multi inning reliever that can go two or three innings. Those kind of relief pitchers are incredibly valuable.

    Would have rather seen Keirsey than Helman. I don't understand the obsession with RH bats. Most pitchers are RH, meaning a lefty will have the advantage in most cases. I get that Helman is a utility guy and can move around, but how many of those guys do you need? I'd rather have someone who plays just the outfield really well, than someone who can play everywhere but only ok. Castillo has no business in the majors. Hopefully Winder will take his place soon. Varland could also really help our bullpen, but with Zebby getting rocked last time out, I think they want to keep him stretched out in case he needs to take Zebbys place.

    We really needed a win and series win, so it was good we got that. Hopefully Lewis can heat up a bit and carry out lineup until we get our guys back. It'd be a great time for this lineup to get hot. Really important weekend series against KC coming up. I'm not getting my hopes up, but I am hoping we can at least get Buxton back for the KC series. Those will be important games. Hopefully if Correa comes back at all this year, it'll be in time for the big series at CLE

    Both Emmanuel Rodriguez and Kalaii Rosario could be two potential RH OF bats to go along with our two LH OFers in Wallner and Larnach. With Buxton always going to need a good backup, we could do a lot worse than these two. There's always Keirsey too, if one of our lefties goes down. I still say signing a decent outfielder to a one year deal would be smart. Just until we're sure ERod or Rosario are healthy and ready for the big leagues.

    Even Lewis admitted he missed the pitch and got it off the end of the bat a bit. Hopefully the fact that our guys finally had a little luck go out way can spark something in them and get them going on a bit of a roll. It'd be a great time to break out of our slump and get hot. Big weekend series against KC coming up. I'm crossing my fingers that Buxton can be activated for Friday night.

    Good picks. I'd put Sands and Larnach on here as well. Both have performed really well and solidified starting roles on the big league club next year.

    Sophomore slumps can be pretty common. Julien just needs to find a way to adjust to the adjustments pitchers made to him this year. Next year will be the real tell to me. If he can figure it out, he'll have a roster spot on the team, maybe as a 2nd base platoon type roll. Another season like this, they may look to move on from him. We do have Lee, Eeles and a few other IF coming up through the system. I'm more worried about his defense though. Any strides he made last year seem to have completely disappeared. Maybe he's taking his at bats out into the field with him. Either way, he needs to clean up his defense big time or his leash will be that much shorter. I personally like Lee at 2nd. Correa at SS and Lewis at 3rd. Need to find an everyday spot for Miranda though. So maybe Miranda at 3rd and Lewis at 1st base if we don't sign anyone. I think we need a long-term answer at first.

    I really like Zebby and think he has a good chance at a long starting career, but he should never have had to pitch in the majors this year. The kid started the year in A ball. I just hope him being rushed this year doesn't hurt his development. Start him in AAA next year and let him get his mojo back. Hopefully we can re call him up when he's ready, not when the Twins just need someone. Of course, none of this matters if the lineup can't score any runs. Margot and Kepler both seem pretty beat up. Do we finally get to see Keirsey?

    Nice outing by Cory Lewis. Prelipp seems to remind me of Canterino (remember that guy)? Absolutely lights out IF we can just keep him healthy. It's hard not to be optimistic about our pitching pipeline of late. Zebby, Festa, Morris are probably closest. Still say we need another SP vet in our rotation for next year. Lower down we have Lewis, Raya, Culpepper, Rozek, maybe Canterino. Sure looks like Okert isn't making it back to A major league mound anytime soon. We couldn't even get a random A baller for him at this point. Sad that EVERYONE signed to pitch for us this year was a total bust. Seeing as it looks like we're not going to go out and sign anyone real, the Twins will be increasingly dependant on our minor league system. Hard to rely SOLELY on that, but we'll see, we've got some good promising players coming up

    With our stars hurt or slumping, 2 out of five starters that should still be in AAA and a bullpen held together with spit and glue it's really not looking like our year. Call up Keirsey and Eeles, dump Farmer and Margot and see if we can find any studs for next year. Sad take, but after scoring what, 5 runs the last two series does anyone think we look like a playoff team? I'm guessing a third wildcard spot at best quickly followed by an embarrassing 2 game sweep, one or both being blowouts. Getting beat by 10 runs in a playoff game will not be a good look for this team...

    Good game from Pablo, heck of a streak he's on. It looks like he made a real adjustment. Sacrificing a ton of strikeouts for quicker ground outs so he can go deeper into games. Rocco will take that everyday. I was so mad, yet totally unsurprised to see the 0-29 Margot pinch hit for Larnach. Why does he keep putting him out there, Larnach was a much better option, lefty or no. Plus, Margot is a TERRIBLE late game defensive sub. He's a butcher out there, which is why I'd like to see if Keirsey can outperform him. Wouldn't take much. Lewis and Castro look lost at the plate. That's all we need is for one of them to go down now too. The lineup is looking as burnt out as the bullpen lately. The only part of the team looking good now is the rotation, and how long can that last?

    Nice to see Morris and Raya pitch good games. I worry about the walks though. Not just these two, but it seems to be an organization problem. Other than Zebby it seems all our top pitching prospects have the same story. Great stuff, lots of K's, but a ton of walks. Maybe it's just the last skill pitchers develop these days. Keirsey and Eeles just keep on hitting. I hope we don't lose these guys in the off-season, they could be good depth pieces for us. Everyone knows you can NEVER have too much pitching, but with the Twins injury problems and injury prone stars, you can NEVER have too much depth in the field either.

    Doesn't look all that soft the way we've been playing. Relying on the schedule and hoping for other teams to start losing is not s good playoff strategy. Twins are going to have to find a way to get hot and win some series. It would help a lot of we could get Lee back this week and then get Buxton back for the big weekend series against KC. I think the games remaining against KC and CLE will determine the AL Central playoff picture. We need our best players out there for all these games.
