    Anyone know what's up with Matt Canterino? Him and Prelipp probably have some of the best stuff in our system and could both be big league bullpen weapons next year if they could ever get and stay healthy. As far as our rotation, we should have some decent depth with SWR, Festa, Mathews and Morris. I just know management will use this assumed depth as a reason for not signing any new pitchers or upgrading the rotation or bullpen in any meaningful way:(

    I'm glad Rosario is going. He's had success there in the past and he looks like a legit hitter. With all the time they missed with injuries this year I wonder why Emmanuel Rodriguez and Walker Jenkins aren't going. You'd think it would be a good way to make up some of those missed at bats. Maybe Rodriguez is getting thumb surgery and they just want him and Jenkins to get healthy for spring training.

    Even Baltimores "backup" players can most likely out hit us. I don't think we have much of a chance playing them. They already swept us once this year, I'm guessing this season ends with one last sweep just to complete the collapse. I'm hoping this epic late season failure forces some changes in the coaching staff and some changes in the way we look to fill out our roster for next year. But, it'll never happen, I expect more of the exact same next year. Ownership will cry poverty because of low attendance and TV deal crap, we won't sign any new players except for a few waiver wire, injury relief pitchers. They'll put out a story about all the young talent that is coming up and going to get the team to the playoffs and that's why we didn't sign anyone of note. Buxton Correa and Lewis will be on the IL by the end of April and we'll have a whole team of rookies and minor league players trying to keep us relevant. Sad but true....

    If only Rocco had started managing like this a month ago. Nice to see a win, but it did take like 4 errors, against one of the worst teams in the game. I'm afraid it's too little too late. Our late season collapse has left us needing to win today then sweep the Orioles on the road, while KC or DET loses. Pretty grim reality. Hopefully someone is held accountable in the off-season. But, I doubt it:)

    I think next year is Julien's last chance. One more year to prove he's figured it out. We have too many younger options. Brooks Lee is my guess for who takes over second base next year. We also have Keaschal that should be knocking on the door as well as Eeles. Tons of depth for second and third base. Lee should be the backup SS. I'm more worried about first base. We're not going to spend on a power hitting guy, Santana might be the best we can hope for. He might regress a bit from leading the team in HR and RBIs, but his defense is invaluable. Plus, I don't trust Miranda there until he can put together some consistency.

    On paper we should have a very good bullpen next year. If everyone is relatively healthy we've got Duran, Jax, Sands Alcala, Stewart, Topa Henriquez, Varland maybe Paddack Hopefully a few free agents. Especially a lefty or two Looks like a solid group, but that's what everyone said this year. We all know injuries happen and relievers struggle. Hopefully they've learned we need a ton of depth. REAL depth, not injured waiver claim scrap heap guys that are nothing but dead weight.

    Hopefully Beltre is for real, we can always use more power speed combo guys, gotta just keep him healthy.

    Like someone just said.... definition of insanity. Rocco had a specific game plan starting the season and he's stuck to it no matter the consequences. Problem is, MLB managers need the ability to adapt. When something is obviously not working, the thing to do is change up. Rocco lacks the ability or motivation to switch things up, or hold players accountable, hence the 0-30 Margot disaster...

    I'll be happy if they find a way to sneak in, but it looks like no matter who we play will easily not only sweep us, but probably shut us out both games as well.

    This kind of optimism and speculation is great, but the way we've played the last month, it's really not going to matter.

    I'm guessing Buck is our center fielder until Rodriguez or Jenkins take over. Unfortunately that means we'll be seeing lots of Keirsey, Martin and Castro in CF the next couple years while Buxton's on the injured list.

    Oh Royce, you never should have said that. I just think he's been in the league long enough now that the pitchers have a book on him. They know how to get him out now and he needs to make an adjustment. He's never had to do that before, because he was never on the field long enough to struggle. I hope he can figure it out, stay healthy and put together a monster season next year. Or, he could refuse to change, continue striking out up and in and flailing at sliders down and away. Baseball is all about adjustment. A new manager and hitting coach sure wouldn't hurt either ....

    I think our managers rely way too much on these ,"new age" stats. Hitting the ball hard is nice, but a hit is a hit, you've got to be able to hit em where they ain't. Expected stats are laughable. A guy goes 0-30 but they say oh, the numbers say he SHOULD be hitting .275 in these situations. What the computer says is EXPECTED doesn't matter, only what ACTUALLY happens. We need a little more old school baseball IQ in a manager, not someone who only goes by numbers and is too stubborn to admit when he's wrong and change up

    They had better put Eeles on the 40 man. I hope he has a hot spring training and gets a call up to the majors at some point. A spark plug type guy like him that can actually steal bases would be a perfect lead off hitter for us. Of course Rocco doesn't believe in lead off hitters, or lineups in general, seeing as they are running a different lineup out there every single day. Margot leading off, seriously? Buxton? Larnach? No no no, these are not lead off hitters.

    I'm basically already looking towards next year, which will probably be another rough one. Watching Festa and Mathews development should be fun though. They both have the stuff and rack up lots of K's. Just need to tighten up their command and learn to be more efficient. Only pitching 3 or 4 innings with 100 pitches is not going to cut it in the big leagues. Except with this team :(

    The way they have mis managed Alcala has been very frustrating. All year long he's been one of our best relievers, even though he hasn't been used optimally. We better pick up his option next year. It's not like ownership is going to spend on anyone legit, so we're going to need all the help we can get.

    I hope our guys can get hot and sneak in, I'm just really losing hope after watching them screw it up day after day. I feel like we haven't scored more than 2 maybe 3 runs all month. If we miss the playoffs, the people in charge need to take a serious look at how this team is managed and make some real changes. I'm not a Rocco fan at all, but he's not going anywhere. I don't know how the hitting coaches aren't fired after a final month like this....

    Twins ownership loves their oft-injured, injury prone/coming back from injury players, usually for the discount in cost. Problem is, we're getting no discount with Correa. Hopefully he can play a full year next year otherwise a poor team like ours cannot continue to pay one part time players almost 40 million per year!

    Twins have Okert, Funderburk and Headrick for LHP next year. Unless Headrick shows something the rest of the year, none of these guys inspire much confidence and shouldn't be relyed upon for anything other than injury replacement. That being said, we need to go out and get one, if not two solid lefties for our pen. Maybe give Theilbar a minor league deal as depth, but what we need are guys in the pen we can rely on. You can never have too much pitching depth, as we're finding out this year sadly.

    It's hard not to be a little excited for some of these guys coming up. Keirsey should already be in MLB rather than Margot. Better defender, can play a TRUE CF, and we wouldn't have to watch the frustrating 0-30 pinch hitter anymore. With Kepler and Margot gone next year there will be at bats up for grabs. Should be fun to watch Keirsey, Martin and Mccusker Duke it out for the 4rth OF spot. Eventually I think E Rodriguez will be in play to if they get him healthy. For infield, I think if Lee and Julien struggle, Eeles could be our next infield utility guy. Severino at first base maybe, if we don't resign Santana or sign a power hitting first baseman.spring training should be fun to follow next season.

    You rely on a bunch of rookies, you get rookie mistakes. If we can keep our starters healthy, and playing the same position day after day, we should be fine. Aside from Castro, they need to designate everyone a single position, let them learn it and stick there. Speaking of defense, how do we not bring up Santana? Dude is amazing over there at first and of he doesn't get his gold glove it's a travesty. His bat may leave something to be desired, especially lately. But the runs he has saved us with some of those plays are very important. I wouldn't mind signing him for another year if we can get him cheap enough. I'd rather see a middle of the lineup true power hitter signed, but it's not going to happen.

    You can't expect to be a playoff team when you can barely score 1 or 2 runs per game. We can't blame the pathetic hitting on injuries anymore, all our guys are healthy. Both Buxton and Correa have looked great too. The team needs to figure out how to hit with RISP and Rocco needs to get out of the way and stop with his idiotic pinch hitting decisions.

    Margot a solid CF? I got a good laugh out of that one. Twins will always need a true CF as backup to Buxton,but Margot certainly is not that. We have Keirsey, Martin and eventually R Rod coming up. I think any one of these guys would be more productive than Margot while providing better defense. Correa, Buxton and Lewis are key to this team. They need to be out there, everyday and at the same position. Quit trying to turn everyone into a Wiki Castro and just let them learn one position well. A lineup that isn't completely different everyday might help s bit too. It's got to be hard for our hitters to get into a routine not knowing if they're playing day to day. And if they are, not knowing where they're hitting in the lineup or where they're playing on the field. Look at the last CLE series. They had just about the same lineup and defense each day.

    Glad to see Raya go 5. Biggest positive was NO walks. If he can keep his walk rate down and figure out how to pitch deeper into games, just like Festa, we just might have a few capable starters to call on. Good thing because we're not spending on any that's for sure. Sure looks like Topa and Funderburk are cooked and aren't an option anymore. Hopefully they can put something together next year. I've got to believe Keirsey and Eeles will make the Twins top 30 lists after this year. Those two, along with Mccusker and maybe Rodriguez should factor into the big league club next year at some point. It's nice to have depth, especially with all our players being so injury prone.

    Probably not, unless we suddenly learn to hit again. Guys are guessing and flailing up there like little leaguers. Do we really want this team to be seen on national TV against a true contender? Might be pretty embarrassing watching our guys strike out 20 times a game, get shut out twice and easily swept in two quick games ... Maybe the added playoff series money can go towards an injured waiver wire reliever lol
