  1. Rocco was an incredible baseball player. I guess what you think is a incredible baseball player and what I think sure is different. A player going to the Baseball Hall of Fame is a incredible player and Rocco sure isn't going there.
  2. Twins have to add a good hitter if they want to go to the playoffs. They do not need to add a star player just one that can hit maybe .275 and there should be no problem finding a player that can do that.
  3. If they do not want Wallner then trade him since I assume he would be a player that other teams would want, but if we trade him then he will be a good hitter for some other team.
  4. I just do not understand how someone can teach a subject(hitting) that they have never been good at? How do you teach math to a person if you are not good at math? How do you teach a person how to hit a golf ball if you are not good at hitting golf balls. There certainly several retired baseball players who were good hitters that would be willing to help Twin's batters for the next 2 or 3 months, but do not want full time job as hitting coach. The Twins can then hire a new hitting coach in the off season. Based on how poorly the Twin's batters are doing it seems like a different hitting coach is needed. The new hitting coach certainly could not do any worse than the current coach.
  5. The Twins are certainly getting a good payback on Solano's contract and not getting payback on the 2 big contracts for Buxton and Correa. Solano should be batting 3rd or 4th in lineup everyday.
  6. Twins need hitters that play every day. If the Twins do not score runs why would they waste money on pitchers who may pitch every 4 or 5 days. Without better hitters the Twins will be a losing team. Twins have good overall pitching, but just can not score runs. Rocco's plan of wishing or hoping players will hit better in second half will lead to a losing record. Wishing and hoping is not really a plan.
  7. Just do not understand why Wallner is not on the team. He was on base 8 times in a row before being sent down. Twins really need hitters and it appears Wallner would be a upgrade so let's give him another try.
  8. I saw that the Yankees replaced their hitting coach with a retired player that hit over .300 6 times so there are hitting coaches with hitting experience that could help the Twins. It seems like the front office will keep Rocco as manager so let's replace the hitting coach and see if the hitters can improve. What is there to lose since hitters cannot do much worse than they are currently doing.
  9. I do not understand why the Twins hired a hitting coach that had really had no experience as a good hitter. How do you coach players to be better hitters with little or no experience as a good hitter? There are several retired Players out there that could be hired today to help the Twins hit better. They may not want the job for the long term, but would be willing to help out for a few months. The current hitting coach certainly isn't helping players so give a retired player a try for the balance of season, the Twins have nothing to lose by making a change.
  10. Twins do not need another starting pitcher, but do need bullpen help. Let him pitch out of bullpen to start out.
  11. I just do not understand why Wallner is not on the Twin's team? He was on base 8 times in a row before he was sent down. There must be some reason he is not playing on the team. He may not be great in the field, but the Twins need hitters and he seems to be a better than average hitter. If the Twins are not going to play him they should trade him since I am sure many teams would trade for him. Only chance for the Twins to be in the playoffs is to replace Rocco with a manager who has feel for the game. The Twins had bad second half last year and do not expect any improvement this year.
  12. What do the Twins have to lose by calling up Brooks Lee? He certainly cannot be any worse. He may be both a better hitter and fielder. The Twins future is with younger players.
  13. He just had the bad luck of getting injured or he would have been a All Star player for many years plus Twins would have been a better team.
  14. It appears the Twins have a easy schedule for the second half.
  15. Not sure Twins need another SP, but he would certainly provide help from the bullpen. Hope he makes it back to majors.
  16. Just look at how he pitched yesterday and you know why he is not on the All Star team. He can throw the ball fast, but still not lights out as closer. Twins have had some really good closers inn the past and maybe Duran will very good, but he is not there yet.
  17. That must be a joke saying Rocco should be in discussion for manager of the year.
  18. A better pitched game by Lopez since he has not pitched well during the past month. Will be watching to see what happens today since the Twins have history of having one big game and then the next game they have just a few hits. We can only hope the hitters keep hitting.
  19. Maybe a past player who was a good hitter. Hard to understand how someone who has not been a good hitter can help others be a good hitter. It seems like having a person who has never driven a car telling other people how to be a good driver.
  20. Are you kidding me? Larnach had his chance and did not produce. Before Wallner was send down he was on base 8 times in a row. I do not think Larnach was on base even twice in a row and maybe no current Twin's player has been on base even 3 times in a row.
  21. Larnach had his chance and did not produce so lets give Wallner another chance. Before being send down he was on base 8 times in a row. Has any other Twin's player been on base even 3 times in a row.
  22. Are you smoking something? Almost anyone would outperform Kepler. Twins will never win with Kepler being a starting outfielder and batting .200. Wallner was on base 8 times in a row before being send down. Has Kepler been on base even 2 times in a row?
  23. It just doesn't make sense that Wallner is not on the Twins team. Before being send down he was on base 8 times in a row. Has any Twin's player been on base even 3 times in a row. Something must be going on that is stopping Wallner from not being on the team. Either the front office or Rocco are stopping him from being on the team. I am not a fan of either the front office or Rocco since anyone can just look at their record and see they have not done a good job.
