  1. I believe we got him in the minor league Rule 5 draft last year. Played the full year at Wichita in AA last year. He isn't a power guy, despite hitting a homer today. High average hitter. Doesn't play CF either. Good player. Probably will do well for the Saints. Just don't see that path to the majors for him.
  2. Julien just gets things going. When he gets on, things happen. Everyone else covered the other good points.
  3. Isola isn't really a catcher. Plays 1b and DH more. Same is basically the case for Williams. If he wants to have a sure route to the majors, he should get better at catching. I'm sure he has. Just don't think he will be able to play well enough there for that to be with a MLB team. Therefore, Camargo and Winkel will get most of the catching duties.
  4. They still don't need anyone - Holland played 64 games in the OF last year, Helman 43 in 2022 when he wasn't injured. Prato 18 games out there last year, not as much as in prior years. They transfered Dalton Shuffield to the Saints and I see he has played some OF before. Shuffield just goes wherever the Twins need him, yo-yoing every where.
  5. Is Kepler out? Counting him with Martin, Margot, and Farmer, I get 4.
  6. Rocco plays everyone and rotates players in the regular season. I think we will see him in LF and Wallner in RF when Kepler gets a day off, especially with Kepler banging up his foot in game #1.
  7. Martin and Helman's best route to the majors is through the OF and they are both good out there. Holland is actually also good in the OF but he can't hit much of anything. All three of these guys steal bases. Lots of speed in the OF. Oh, Prato plays LF as well. This team is filled with guys who are utility guys. I think they will be exciting to watch.
  8. Hadn't thought about the possible connection of this to the ACL injuries. If so, seems to mean it could happen again. Where's our TD doctor to give us some further insight..........
  9. In other bad minor league injury news. Canterino and Prielipp both on the 60 Day IL.
  10. I don't think the Twins see Miranda as a third baseman anymore and have him at 1B. Severino is less ready than Martin IMO so I say it will be Martin.
  11. Julien has to play every day. His at bats drive pitchers crazy, increasing their pitch count. I think that alone helps the hitters behind him. A win, yes. But the Lewis injury isn't good.
  12. Quality over quantity - Lewis, Julien and Wallner.
  13. 84 wins and a division title. Thus, no selection was available.
  14. Harry - Unless he's the 2nd coming of Luis Arraez, (doesn't strike out and hits for average) he will probably follow in the footsteps of Ernie Yake (recently released) and Dalton Shuffield. They yo-yo up and down the minors at different levels, wherever needed. In the end, not enough power or speed and he's probably limited to 2B and they end of being released after a successful minor league career. Garry - if he could ever get his bat going, he's got some skills in other areas to move up. Blewitt - don't know anything about him except just his name scares me if we bring him in with a lead.
  15. Wallner with two homers in recent games. If can get in the groove now, that would be nice. Other than the corner outfielders and Farmer, the Twins hitters stats look good.
  16. Great test to see if they can mentally handle the closer role. Also, a great test for the rest of the bullpen to see if they can step up to a higher level. Not everyone will succeed though. What a great nickname!
  17. My trip there is probably years away. Are there better weeks to go than others? Just assuming the first and last weeks of camp can be different than the rest of camp.
  18. As a team I'll agree. But look at the guys hitting .300 or better - Julien, Buxton, Correa, Kirilloff, Santana, Jeffers, Castro. And I'm not concerned about Lewis. Most have decent slugging %'s too. If we want to get concerned about spring training numbers, it's the corner OF's that have struggled the most.
  19. Pretty soon he's going to be the last man standing as Topa joins the others on the IL.
  20. 2023 - 2 homers in 76 AB's through May 12 in a league where hitters dominated.2 homers in 56 at bats through April 29 (hitting .161) in 2022. Obviously I'm cherry picking my dates and he takes off and kills the ball after these dates, often in bunches. He's a homer hitter, hitting 52 homers in 2022 and 2023. I get your point that his average is sometimes okay early. HIs homer swing is often not in the groove early and that is one of the main parts of his game. Hoping he finds his homer swing early this year. If Wallner only hits 2 homers in his first 50 to 75 AB's, are people ready to ship him to AAA?
