  1. Dillon Gee for $13 million is the best case scenerio. But that is how long term pitching contracts often end up
  2. I think we should add pitching- then pitching - then more pitching
  3. I would extend all of the players that you have previewed. My rationale is that some of them will work in the teams favor, some in the players favor, but doing all of them would balance the risk. Extending this core of players two years could give the Twins a chance at a World Series if they continue to improve.I like this core group but the pitching needs more time to develop. We are not going to be able to buy enough pitching. We could use the extra two years to acquire enough pitching. I think we need it.
  4. Thanks for the article and research. I have always been a Brandon Morrow fan. Rooting that he is one of the two added
  5. I like it Seth. You can wrap that deal up when you join the front office. Since they picked up John Manual I figure you are next. Who follows prospects more than you do?
  6. If he would sign that deal you outlined the Twins should do it. You can buy three years of free agency now. If you wait until he is a free agent the contract will be much longer. I would sign Sano, Berrios, Rosario, Polanco and Kepler also. Just because you sign for long term does not mean a player could not be traded. In a some situations the cost certainty is a plus and adds value. You could lock up this core for 7 seasons. Go for it.
  7. I would be very happy with Lynn. I think his second year removed from TJ surgery could be better than this year. And we would take his 2017 season. That would be an improvement. The problem I see is there could be more teams pursuing Lynn than Darvish or Arrieta because of presumed price. I think Lynn will get a very very good contract. I think it will be at least 5 years and closer to 18 million per year.
  8. This does need to get resolved. I would like to see a three year extension. Once that is secured you could trade Polanco or Gordon for pitching. They are younger, cheaper have more control and may bring back a better pitcher than Dozier if the team we are trading with is rebuilding.
  9. It was nice this year that the major league team stayed in the race and we have not heard much about the Arizona Fall league. Sounds like a very nice pick for round 32
  10. That was easy. Who is next year's ROY? Next year's Hildenberger? Thanks for all you do.
  11. To me it is a no brainer - I would bring him back. The team plays hard- never quits. His bullpen usage would be better if he had the Yankees bullpen. Falvine did very little to fix what was an obvious weakness on this team. The Indian left McCallister, Otero and Goody OFF their playoff roster. No room. Compare that to what Molitor had to work with. Twins style is fun to watch. They play hard and aggressive.
  12. I would also like to see Kinsler return and I think that is realistic. Also need a closer and 1 starter.
  13. I will be surprised if Molitor does not win the manger of the year award. While some have issues with his methods I think results is what a manager should be judged on. This team plays hard, aggressive sometimes misguided baseball and will end up as the 5th best record in the American league. No need to switch managers.
  14. I thought they might bunt until I saw Vargas in the batters box. He did not have a good game. Besides hitting into the double play he dropped a throw at first base in the 8th that should have been a double play. Twins got out of the inning but Smoak would not have batted in the 9th had Vargas caught that throw in the 8th.
  15. It started with skipping Slegers. He was listed as the probable pitcher a couple days ago. If he had started Twins probably lose.
  16. Thanks for doing all the research. The other player who had 10 home runs for Fort Myers was a solid MLB hitter - Todd Walker
  17. Two things that I thought were different from the old regime was: 1. Absorbing salary on a trade to get better prospects with THE YANKEES Ryan never was aggressive that way 2. Being creative in the draft to have the money to go over slot to grab the high school pitcher that they liked Everything else felt like business as usual except as a couple posters mentioned a lot quicker hook.
  18. Don't know if this is where I should post this but I just saw where Melvin Upton opted out of his minor league agreement. Good defense- runs well - hits better against lefties- I think we still have one 40 man roster spot- I could see being able to use him since Sept 1st. is so close. Any thoughts?
  19. Very Interesting that Melville was once a top 100 prospect. Why not bring him up.
  20. Best chance may be Oakland relievers. They have a couple more. But does not look like a match with the rest of the division
  21. Blevins for the Mets would help. Wonder what his price would be
  22. 7. We may have a long relief man to soak up innings in case of a short start- whoever gets bumped from the rotation
  23. Lot of research in this article. Very interesting. To me it is not how they start but how they finish. Hope he makes it.
