    Youngest guy in his draft class so far. Royce was also quite young for his draft year as I recall.

    Not so bold prediction: one of the guys the Twins draft tonight will be ranked 200 or greater by BA, Fangraphs, MLB, or any of the other popular sites.

    There was talk recently of the Baldelli effect, keeping the Twins loose and rested. I think Buxton is the poster child for this - he looks so relaxed and appears to be having lots of fun out there, and the team is reaping the benefits. 40-18??!!

    Chicago doesn't belong in the same category as KC and Detroit - they are 2 games out of a wild-card spot at the moment.

    What's really ugly in Cedar Rapids? The league worst .217 team batting average.

    Classic small sample size, but through 4 games Nick Gordon is doing quite well: .421 BA, 1.108 OPS, 4 2B, 3SB. It would be nice to see him reposition himself as a top prospect.

    Hah, nice find. Just after Trout and Harper, ahead of Machado, and at #16, our friend Jake Odorizzi(#24 Aaron Hicks, #28 Kyle Gibson, #36 Miguel Sano). I liked this passage: Destiny.

    Indoor baseball: if I'm going to watch a game inside, I'd rather it were on television(at least the game I'm watching might be outside). The sounds(echo), smells(cleaning fluid), are sights(pure artificial light) are all off in a dome. There was nothing worse than going to an afternoon game at the Dome when it was 70 outside with a blue sky and puffy white clouds. Painful.

    13 more than our friend Bert Blyleven. That 68 MVP, CYA season: 1.12 ERA, 12 shutouts, 304 IP. Still managed to lose 9 games somehow, along with 22 wins. I always liked the Dusty Baker quote that Gibson would throw at his own mother if she dug in on him.

    Too bad for TA the Giants have an entrenched 1B and fewer opportunities at DH. There is some platoon opportunity though. Wouldn't be surprised if Austin hit more homers than Belt in fewer at bats. (He actually did last year).

    Precisely why I went to bed after watching the 6th, 7th, and 8th innings. Oh me of little faith....

    I loved the way Rocco handled the bullpen - after Berrios gives up the hit, he waits for them to make the PH move, then brings in the lefty , and lets him close it out over 1 and 1/3 innings. Very efficient. Little economies like that go a long way over 162 games and a pitching staff of 12. I wouldn't mind seeing the Twins have several guys with 10 or more saves this season. Parker, Mays, and Rogers are all capable.
