  1. Of course. One of the great things about baseball is you see things you’ve “never” seen before only to find out somebody did it three times in 1958.
  2. Here, here. Run Buck Run!
  3. Thanks for the info. I’m old enough to remember all of those but didn’t which might relate to being old enough to remember all of those. Seriously Thats is more instances than I would have guessed.
  4. I don’t like our FO and I will say they handled that situation perfectly. Let him walk and get the comp pick. What’s really clear is that Joe Ryan has no future in a front office
  5. This is really a stretch. With the bat he has made improvements…..to average He’s a horrible baserunner and below average fielder. His jumps are poor as are his routes. His throwing arm is below average. I’m not suggesting he should be released but he has a crap ton to prove.
  6. To me there are two paths: try to compete in 2026, which would clearly require a payroll north of $120 million, or they regroup for 2028 as I believe 2027 will be largely lost. I believed they could retool and compete in 2026 by trading expiring contracts and maybe Larnach. Since they went way beyond that I’m assuming they are not planning on competing in 2026. That means there is no point in hanging onto López and Ryan. Get a couple near MLB ready bats. If this is the plan payroll will be well below $100 million. I also wouldn’t be surprised if they sold the minority partners on a really low payroll for 2026 which allows all involved to suck $50 million or more in profits in 2026.
  7. If he is not 100% healthy I would shut him down so he can heal up and have a regular off season of training.
  8. Rest assured if we had baserunners they would have made the mistakes…..
  9. I see to get a stolen base Larnachs only had to be thrown attempting to steal and get picked off. Welcome to the Twins aggressive running game.
  10. Agreed but their past suggests that won’t happen. So to sum my thoughts, there is a way to build a good pen next year but they would have to adopt your thoughts to do it and I don’t think they have your phone number 😀
  11. This is a tough one because I don’t think they will be good next year and labor strife always puts off the fans. It’s going to have to be something non- baseball related like turning Target Field into the worlds largest bar with cheap beer and drinks.
  12. As far as how close to 14 I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Would you go with Ohl / Adams / Raya over a retread for the last spot or two? I’m not sure as I have serious doubts about them but at least there is a chance for improvement. Your observation about the 6th spot is a good one. I like it better than my original idea - gets one more good arm in the pen. My question is would this FO ever do something like this?
  13. You have largely described my opinion. They need to take the best 14 pitchers. The first 5 are the starters, number 6 goes to AAA to be the first man up for injuries and the remaining 8 go to the pen regardless of prior role. If another pitcher gets hurt they use a bulk reliever until someone gets stretched out a little - they only pitch 5 anyway. St Paul gets the best of the rest. This plan is predicated on the idea that young pitchers can pitch in the bullpen for a year or two and still become starters. I don’t believe the FO shares my beliefs so I don’t expect this to happen. If they try to construct the bullpen as they have in the past, it will not be good next year. The good bullpen they just blew up took them years to construct.
  14. Bradley and Abel are similar in that they both have good stuff but lack command. When they are hitting their spots they will look great (Bradley last night) when they are missing their spots look out (Abel last night).
  15. I don’t like it but I think this is correct. It’s really doubtful that the Twins compete next year. In one off season they would have to completely overhaul the bullpen and acquire two difference making bats. That ain’t happening. Since 2027 is highly questionable you will have wasted their last two years of control. If you can bring back a couple of athletic young bats and some of this pitching develops you could have a great team in 2028 not a wish and a prayer team which they have now. By the way, anyone who states “ starting pitching logjam” needs to seek immediate help.
  16. Interesting insights. I just think it comes down to his swing. That huge leg kick makes complicated timing of the variability of speed on pitches. He has so much raw power that he could ditch the leg kick and still hit the ball really hard.
  17. I’m glad EmRod is back as we need to see at some point what he can do. I’m not nearly as high on him as most. MLB pitchers will attack him and make him swing. With his swing and miss profile that spells Julien like trouble. And I realize that this is like just my opinion man. Let’s find out.
  18. This. The problem isnt Wallner “clutchness” rather it is his teammates inability to get on base.
  19. SWR looks like he lost 15 pounds.
  20. I noticed that as well. He often looks tentative in the field as well. He had a good game tonight though if you ignore the ball he should have caught to save two runs.
  21. Hell no. Keep Jeffers and the prospect capital - the Orioles would want a haul for him. Plus the Twins are not likely to be good next year and 2027 is in danger so what’s the point?
