    Yep. Watching the post game show Rocco said the contact play was on. Still thought Max should have put some pressure on the fielder to make a throw but past that he needs to get into a rundown so the runners advance and he did that successfully.

    Agreed but I don’t have a problem with - that’s their opinion. I can easily move past a negative comment. What bogs things down is the same comment or slight variation of it over and over in an attempt to “win” the argument.

    To get his production out of the catcher spot is a real bonus. He has made noticeable improvements in his hitting and catching since he came into the league.

    Blaming Angel is incredibly weak. I didn’t see the pitch you are referring to but I saw innings 2-7 and it was one of the better games I’ve seen this year year. He literally didn’t miss a pitch.

    Yep. Don’t want to be a curmudgeon (I’m saying that a lot lately) but how do you make the big leagues making basic mistakes like that?

    What a poor tag by Miranda. Cost them a run and wasted an excellent throw by Jeffers.

    I would say they are middle of the pack. They have done enough good things that they are certainly above many teams but have made enough mistakes/deficiencies that they can’t be considered one of the best.

    If he keeps on hitting there is definitely a role for him next year. Especially because he looks viable at third. He’s not great there but he can spell Lewis play 1st against lefties and dh some.

    To be serious about your question last contract they got paid in installments. If you remember they were late on paying several teams. Don’t know if it is different in this situation. It would be ironic if Bally just defaulted and the Twins don’t get their money after choosing to chase the extra dollars from Bally.

    Call me a curmudgeon but this whole sausage thing is infantile. Now we will get a reference to it in every article. It was cute the first time it came up but not any more.

    I’m glad Berrios is doing well. He seemed like a real pro with his maturity and work ethic. His durability has been amazing - something I don’t think got enough weight in the trade discussions.

    I don’t think we can make judgments about Martin based on his first 20 games. Give him a look and see if he gets comfortable in CF and at the plate. I mean if you aren’t going to give him a shot now when will you?

    Castro is one of the few players that can legitimately play several positions acceptably well (although he has struggled a little in CF this year). He can run, switch hitter there is a lot to like in the true utility role. If we can pay Farmer 6.25 this year we can pay Willi 5.5 next year.

    I disagree that things are “too negative” in articles or comments. First of all it is a very subjective notion. Someone upthread commented that the site has gotten too negative in recent history. If you look at what has transpired with this team after the playoffs and before the recent winning streak it hasn’t been pretty. If you are going to write objectively about those topics it is going to come across as negative to some people. I don’t want someone to whitewash or sugarcoat things to avoid coming across as negative as long as it is objective. I’m not picking on Seth but I don’t find his assessments of minor leaguers useful because he only writes positive things. I do really appreciate the work he puts into it however. My greater concern is not positive or negative - it is when certain posters repeat the same argument or opinion ad naseum because they have to get the last word or “win” the debate. State your opinion and discuss new angles but move on.

    So fun to see the Twins battling hard the entire game. Jeffers and Miranda are locked in. Miranda has looked more comfortable at third and has played his way back into the Twins future. Trevor P seems like a good dude but man can he hijack a broadcast. Thought I was at a frat party for a while.

    I guess I didn’t realize there were naysayers on ERod. Vast majority of what I read is very positive.
