  1. Remember the names Twins fans. When (IF??) they are calling a Twins game, I'd expect they are given the proper "welcome"
  2. I really like what they did. What frustrates me a little is that everyone not named Falvey thought the bullpen was going to be a problem. I would have preferred they actually spend for a solid reliever instead of blowing 19 saves and then having to give up prospects to correct the problem. I like that they've set themselves up to have a solid starting rotation next year as well...Gray, Mahle, Maeda, Ryan, Winder, etc.
  3. So.....if Falvine had traded for Cotton and signed Pagan on a minor league deal, would Pagan have been DFA'd? Hmmmmmmm.........
  4. I like, borderline love, what they did today. But today's MLB is just weird...you trade for a guy who gave up 2 runs to you last night and DFA a guy who retired 8 straight hitters and a guy who fanned 8 in 5 innings FOR you?
  5. TD has Steer at #6 but with him being blocked by other players and needing to be added to the 40-man, he was a no-brainer as part of a package. I was excited to see what Encarnacion-Strand would become but you have to give to get. My preferred target was Castillo. Then Mahle/Montas, with Mahle even b/c of Montas' shoulder issue. Now...about an extension for Mahle. Mahle, Gray, Maeda, Ryan is a pretty good start to 2023 rotation as well.
  6. Ummmmm. Yes. Two words...Jose Miranda. I'd rather see Miranda in the lineup 100 times out of 100 at this point. We've seen what Sano is....except when Garvin Alston was around. Is he still in Miami? Maybe the Marlins would trade a couple dozen baseballs for the chance to "get him right". After 8 seasons, I've seen more than enough.
  7. Dear Mr. Falvey. Your analytics-driven method for building a competitive pitching staff is failing. Your analytics-driven method for building a championship level pitching staff is completely non-existent. I'm 54 and not getting younger...please go get this solid offense some pitching help!!!!!
  8. This was the obvious move. Celestino could use some time in StPaul to see if he can grow as a hitter. With Sanchez catching 80% of the time, Sano can DH. It also buys the FO some time to see if he can continue what he started at AAA at the plate. If he goes back to April 2022 Sano, they can always DFA him later.
  9. As always, personnel decisions will likely revolve around who replaces Buxton in CF when he's not out there. If they're comfortable with Gordon in that role, it's likely Celestino heading to StPaul.
  10. Adding a Mahle would be a move for 2023 and beyond. I have to be honest...I feel like there are just so many issues with the current pitching staff that adding one guy isn't the solution. I'm only interested in guys that can help this year, 2023, and maybe beyond that.
  11. Contreras is the obvious fit. But any resources spent on anything but upgrading the train wreck of a bullpen seems irresponsible.
  12. Great win. They all are. Happy to see Duffey maybe discovering some things. Allow me to vent for a moment. Last week, Rocco was forced to send out...and leave out...Tyler Thornburg because he was literally out of options. Tonight, Bundy faces 16 batters...and throws just 58 pitches...and he's gone. I'm old school, I get it. But at some point can there be a little bit of "gut feel" out of the manager? Rather than just reading computer printouts? Please? That's all. Go Twins!!
  13. SO, SO many positives just past the quarter pole of the season. The biggest head scratcher to me is how you organization-wide preach R&R and manage pitchers work loads.....yet have SO many injuries. Something doesn't add up.
  14. OK. I'll ask the question. At what point do we start talking up Gilberto Celestino as a prospect? Dude is hitting.....what, .350?
  15. "I sort of understood it, given that the Twins were a bit worn in the bullpen".....I am SO pumped that this team has managed to put itself in first place. Just let me vent about a couple things. At some point, Baldelli and their analytics-driven approach will need to let starters throw more than 75-80 pitches or they're literally going to kill their bullpen. And, I get the need to keep Buxton healthy, but this two games played and then being completely unavailable on the third is just baffling to me. He's a 27-year old freak of an athlete. I think we can do better than that and still keep him healthy.
  16. Provus...."A second sacrifice bunt. What is this?!" Gladden..."Baseball. It's baseball." Preach Dazzle.
  17. Great News. I'm really glaod Lewis will get a cup of coffee to get a taste of the bigs. But I"m REALLY glad Correa will be back sooner than later.
  18. Biggest surprise to me is how inept the offense has looked
  19. Love the work, Nick. Always. You missed another deja vu, however. The offense....stinks. There's just no other way to put it.
  20. 19 whiffs for Joe Ryan today is a BIG number. I think it shows the stuff is legit. Plenty of video out on him now...today's start shows he's here to stay.
  21. I'm with most in here...not sure why you get Gray/Correa but can't beat the relatively low price paid for Manaea, or another starter. I'm excited about the pitching prospects moving forward. But, strictly for 2022, we are relying far too much on "hope". We hope Ober is the real deal as a #3/#4 starter. We hope Ryan can replicate his success from a small 2021 sample size. We hope Bundy can be more like the 2020 version than the version he's been most of his career. We hope Archer can at least give us 5 innings and a sub-5.00 ERA from the #5 slot. We hope Duran is ready for a role in the 'pen. We hope Alcala continues to progress. We hope Duffey returns to 2019-2020 version. I'm all about hope...but we may be asking for a bit too much of it for 2022.
  22. I'm a fan, no matter what happens. I would love nothing more than to see Ryan and Ober develop into solid #3 and #4 starters. I love that we're going to get to see Duran and Winder. I have no idea if this team can compete for a playoff spot and, frankly, I don't care. I just can't freaking wait for Thursday. And I can't wait to see how prospects continue to develop this year.
  23. This was my thought all along! Was hoping to see the rule change for 2022 and thought of Kepler immediately.
