  1. To this point, the FO has mortgaged basically none of its future to put together this roster. I'm cool with that, but still think this canNOT be the final move. The trade DEADLINE is July 30....let's hope there is a trade before then. If the A's are asking the moon for Montas and plan to wait til the deadline, then I'd like to see the FO move on to another option...I've been on the Alcantara wagon for a long time...
  2. It's really exciting to see all of the promising arms in the top 15. Like throwing darts...not all 15 will develop into bona fide major leaguers, but you have to think at least half of them will.
  3. I've long stumped for allowing young, promising arms to get their first taste as part of a bullpen. Seems like most organizations are worried about innings loads with young guys, so this is an ideal balance. The Twins can get help from a young, electric arm. They can manage innings as well as what type of leverage situations they are used in. Seems like a win-win. Only thing I didn't like Nash, was reminding all of us that the White Sox will once again have Kopech in their rotation.
  4. Richard Rodriquez is still out there....just sayin'
  5. Seriously though, this is a great signing. If he's here for 3 years, that's amazing. Heck, if he's only here until the trade deadline and the Twins can pull in a couple top prospects in a deal, that's good too.
  6. Nash Walker on Locked On Twins podcast had the path to complete this roster....trade for Montas and sign Story
  7. Everything that's been reported, posted and discussed the last 36 hours just went out the door. I have no idea what to think of this one
  8. Wow. Just...Wow. This is the kind of move the Twins NEVER make! I like the trade. Sonny Gray is really good. Chase Petty may/might/could be good down the road/in the future/blah blah blah. The organization dealt from an area of strength - depth of starting pitching prospects.

  10. Now, if we could just get a National League team scrambling to fill its DH role and also need a veteran 3B to deal for Donaldson we can get on to the inevitable rebuild for 2023. I'm all for it.
  11. Rortvedt's OPS in St.Paul was .750...I think that'd be best case for both him and Jeffers. What do you think? 500 ABs for Jeffers could get him to 20+ HR and 65ish RBI. With his defense, that might be good enough.
  12. Also...mlb.com has already slotted Henriquez as the Twins #20 prospect, one spot behind Cole Sands. That's certainly not nothing.
  13. Halle-friggin-luyah!!! Did the owners win??....Don't care. Did the players win??...Don't care. Opening day is 28 days away...that's all I care about!
  14. IMO there is no question Jax starts the season in the bullpen...either at AAA or in the big leagues. Like the mention of him working on how to use his fastball differently...similar to Odorizzi - up in the zone, to make it more effective.
  15. 2022? Healthy, reduced walks and continued K rate. Moving forward?...how about a 2023 mlb debut. The future?...how about a spot as a #3 starter for about 8 years.
  16. Let's be clear here. The owners don't care about you or me. They don't really care about the "integrity" of the game, the fans or any of the other mumbo-jumbo their highly paid puppet spews at a press conference. They care about money. Period. Manfred is nothing more than their mouthpiece.
  17. I may be in the minority, but I feel like 2022 would be better seen as a "Let's see what we've got" year. Guys like Duran, Winder, Sands, Balezovic, etc don't need to be in the rotation for the entire season for the club to see what it has in them. Innings can still be managed if necessary, but I'd like to see guys like that make at least 10-12 starts each, health allowing of course. Maybe Canterino shows enough over the first 3 months to warrant a look at the mlb level. At some point, let's actually see Royce Lewis play SS. Get Jose Miranda at least 300 AB...I don't care where he plays in the field, 3B or 1B. Give Austin Martin a cup of coffee. Continue to give Celestino some run...along with Larnach and Kiriloff of course.
  18. No matter what happens, billionaire owners will continue to be billionaire owners. Multi-millionaire players will continue to be multi-millionaires. All the while, the "average Joe" fan will still not be able to afford to take a family of four to a baseball game without selling a kidney. This whole thing is just disheartening for a pure baseball fan who counts down the days until we read "Pitchers and Catchers report"....
  19. Doesn't it seem like just about every top Twins' pitching prospect could have been listed here?? Hmmmmm
  20. I HAAAAAATE the opener!!!!! But I digress. The reality is this is the only way they're ever getting anything out of Jax...opener every 5th day, available in relief once or twice in between.
  21. Normally an optimist. But I'm bracing myself for no baseball in 2022.
  22. What Falvine has done is build prospect pitching depth. Next step for at least some will be key to organization's success down the road. I think Jax may stick as a reliever...his numbers were terrific first time through a lineup, not so terrific after that. I don't need to ever see Lewis Thorpe in a Twins uniform again. I'll give Charlie Barnes the benefit of the doubt in that he likely wouldn't have been the choice for spot starts if guys like Duran, Winder, etc. were healthy, and his numbers at AAA were strong. Maybe he can make some adjustments now and be serviceable as a AAA/MLB swing man.
