  1. It is not the diving catch, it is the RANGE of play that set-up the diving catch. As an earlier post said, if five out of ten could make the catch without diving, it was exposing a short coming, not a great play.
  2. Fans go to a game to see a team win, unless they are masochists; they do not spend money to see owners throw crap against a wall to see what sticks.
  3. The analogy is a Straw-man argument, I will leave it at that.
  4. AA play level is not as difficult as AAA, it is a simple as that because he has not mastered AAA yet.
  5. Partly because the AAA teams have their own Championship which is important to the teams, towns and players there. I have read more than one article where jacking players around screws up the season for the AAA managers and teams; because they WANT TO WIN that championship just as much as any.
  6. "I don't think there's an exact science," Hinch said about moving Torkelson and Greene to Toledo. "You can't predict how things are going to be. You call them up, and they get off to a really hot start, then you kept them down there too long. You call them up and they get off to a dry spell and they're not very good early, then you rushed them. There's no perfect way to predict exactly how they're going to respond or what the right time is." This article: Detroit Tigers promote Spencer Torkelson, Riley Greene, Ryan Kreidler to Triple-A Toledo (yahoo.com) with A.J.HInch of the Detroit Tigers is about moving rookies from AA to AAA much less the Big Show. This article shows moving these players around is not a simple -- Why aren't they moving so and so because I think they should -- so much rhetoric is about here but says why and how difficult it actually is to do so and not screw things up worse for the player or team. --- A good read.
  7. That is what the minor league is for; not dumping on paying spectators in major league games.
  8. You really want the Twins to lose .
  9. For what it is worth: The 1963 Twins, the original Bomba Squad, had 225 HRs and 35 triples and , the 1962 Twins had 221 HRs and 46 triples but show what a team with cadre of Arraez type hitter might look like: The 1976 Twins had 81 HRs and 51 triples while the 1977 Twins had 123 HRs and 60 triples.
  10. What do you think the odds are that Cruz did not try to hit a home run in his last at bat?
  11. Arraez hits a long over due dinger after Donaldson singles, sweet.
  12. Over the years the Twins have had more than one person playing outfield who could throw the ball home, accurately from a long ways out. They need another one and Larnach is not it.
  13. Rooker has 3 hits, amazing, hopefully that is not all for the rest of the month.
  14. Good grief -- Jax has the gonads to come up and win games, he should not be here because some other rookie could be pitching and losing games instead....
  15. Paranoia strikes deep, into your life it will creep....
  16. I think they should put some bleacher seats, real bleachers, out in the left and right fields, still fascinating.
  17. If SS is that worthless then Polanco should still be a short, or Arraez should be there, as "Figures won't lie: but men that draw up the tables may."
  18. Stupidly I turned it off when New York took the late lead.?
  19. Sadly I turned the FoD game off when New York took the lead, did not want to see NY win again.?
  20. That is what AAA is for; they get to the big show when they have already shown, they may be ready, not for more training. All have to adapt, but I doubt many are sent up as maybe-kinda-sorta ready; injuries in the big league may force that but that is no longer the case for bringing up any more wannabes -- well pitching possibly.
  21. You could take your child to Betty Danger's Country Club up where Lowry hits Marshall. They have a Ferris Wheel and Mini-golf. Hours vary depending on day of week.
  22. Cave has been in a steady decline for some odd reason but his agility in the outfield makes either Larnach or Rooker look like lumbering hippos.
  23. The Turtle has been unseated.? A’s face 31 mph eephus pitch from Brock Holt https://www.athleticsnation.com/2021/8/8/22615949/oakland-as-texas-rangers-brock-holt-eephus-pitch
  24. It depends on pitching, greatly, and defense. If they keep Donaldson, Simmons, Buxton is back, plus they have Refsnyder and Garlic as back-ups and they pick-up a good left fielder, defense will be good. Get Cruz back and they will win an extra 6-7 games. Pitching, roll the dice, it cannot get worse.
