  1. Last thing the twins need is another guessamatic rookie showing he belong in the Minors on a good day; time will tell if this boy find the Twins inspiring or a a dump like Happ did.
  2. Larnach lumbering around the outfield with a weak arm is not a good thought.
  3. Yep, those negative numbers are just what the Twins need; and that 35 error makes Polanco look like a first rate Short Stop but the Second Base numbers could put fear into Polanco.
  4. He was very good at 2nd base, 2021, at best average at short stop any year; 2018 was his only good year at short stop, even with 20 errors. They signed him for his bat, not his fielding ability.
  5. Cal Griffith brought in, and removed, a lot of veterans as he saw necessary, THAT, is one reason the team did so well before the seventies. 2019, the Twins did the same thing with excellent results.
  6. Same crap , different piles is like the color grey, boring.
  7. Same as what happened with any past FO is important now, you figure it out.
  8. Odd thing is , in 2019 they brought in a cluster of Free Agents and it paid off, why not now?
  9. Actually, that fact that so many batters cannot simply put the ball in a hole often looking to be 40 feet wide, is more disturbing than the shift. If they teach them to do that, shift will go away.

    Thanks

That and a whole lot more.
  11. That quote is NEVER less relevant; emphasized by posters whining all summer about certain pitchers being next up. Every game counts, not just certain ones.
  12. And ten more the next year, and ten more the next year etc., etc., etc, no wait -- put Polanco back at short, he was SO good.
  13. LOL, ? Yeah too bad he was not like he was in 2013-14-17 when he had 14 errors and won two MVPs and was a Gold Glove all those years. Yep they could have played Polanco and returned to the glory days of 22 errors and being a minus in every Baseball Ref. category; Arraez Mr. throw the ball into right field, such a possibility the Twins did not even let him play SS, or Gordon, yep if other posters are correct, he is not even allowed to play SS in the minors any more. Gordon may have a future with the Twins but it will not be at SS. The Twins managed to avoid 90 losses, without Simmons it would have been 100 losses, minimum.
  14. Hmm, how many Twins rookies that tore up AA & AAA have torn up the Majors?
  15. 1969-1970 the Twins won two division titles , went nowhere and then became mid-pack also rans.
  16. His fielding ability makes him an MVP, period.
  17. Those are only pitches that were considered an error on the part of the catcher; I saw a lot of balls that got by Jeffers , but were called wild pitches that should have been blamed on the catcher as his lateral movement to his right was greatly restricted by his leg sticking out, while I watched MANY opposing catchers stop balls that were far closer to a true wild pitch but they could move either direction unrestricted by they squat rather than sitting on their arse.
  18. Rortvedt may not be a great batter, not that much worse than Jeffers, but he is a FAR better catcher; trade Jeffers.
  19. Framing is more talk that reality; an artificial stat. created a little over ten years ago but some league announcers have said, it is viewed by some pitchers as an annoyance like the catcher coming to the mound. Now do not quote me on this but one former top pitcher , supposedly , would tell the catcher if he came to the mound some thing on the order of -- I throw it, you catch it, get back there and do that. If there were a way to track it, I would like to know how many balls Jeffers passed led to a score or moved a player that scored and would not have had Jeffers not let the ball get by.
  20. Yep, that is what they did in the seventies and it worked so very well, but wait, then it was 17 years before they were top league, now it has already been 30, but hey fans will wait and gladly pay to watch what amounts to a mid-level AAA team,
  21. iF there is any resembance of Molitor in Arraez, hell has frozen over.
  22. His fielding is best of the possibilities, and he is not a rookie.
