  1. It is amazing how so many of those posting here think the Major League is the same as the Minors, i.e. a place where rookies learn to be ball players. Larnach and Rooker were destroyed statistically in the Majors, that can ruin a rookies mind set easily; they came up because they were last resort, (Rooker was already destroyed in Spring games, and Celestino should never have been brought up) as rookies in front of them and with better result were also injured. (I am curious how Garlick does next year, sadly Ref. ended up looking like Celestino when he came back .) Regular season is about winning, so the stands are not empty, NOT another minor league crap-shoot.
  2. WHAT? -- We have such great out fielders as Booker, Celestino, Larnach and Gordon ?
  3. Really now his Rtot and Rdrs were both 14, far from his best year still far better than average; please what game did Simmons error cause a big inning? His life time average of errors is 10 per season, this year he had 12, lot better than the 22 Polanco had at short his full season.
  4. why would you want Polanco at short, he is horrible there; the season is not about opening paths for rookies, it is about winning games.
  5. You said:" Fortunately for the Twins, Jeffers has a real chance at being one of those guys next year. " Based on what statistic?
  6. Arraez's fielding is sub-par, cut/trade him.
  7. Based on what statistic?
  8. Hmm, pitchers are now entirely defense in the American League so if they give up four five home runs a game it means little. To reduce the power of defense is silly at best.
  9. LOL, yep Arraez, I would love to see more games where Twins lose without giving up a hit as Arraez throws the ball into right field, BRILLIANT. You like the adage but would use Keystone Cops for infielders, LOL ? You are correct on Cruz.
  10. Nope, he was dissing Ashbury.
  11. You would be just as satisfied if they had lost 100 or more games, as other last place teams did, fascinating.
  12. Unless they want to spend big bucks for a SS, assuming one wants to come here, there is no one near his fielding ability available; put any one on the Twins roster in that position and Twins will/would be a fielding laughing stock, for releasing Simmons So much babble here moans about HIS bat while ignoring all the barely .200 rookies they are so in love with whilest ignoring how much the infield depends on his glove which was show blatantly in the last game.
  13. Good pitchers with poor defense -- more losing seasons, period. Twins need defense as much as pitching, lose the one they have now, see above; EXCEPT, for a bullpen that throws away games, that was a large problem.
  14. Larnach has shown he belongs in AAA, maybe for life; Arraez is a poor fielder and Twins need defense , not offense. Trade away the defense and actually the offense, and it will be a long, long time before the Twins are more than an after though in baseball.
  15. It it is not that long ago the Twins had an excellent game just and were happy to not have lost 100 games , SO, they are ten game better than then.?
  16. Rooker showed in his last game he either is forever AAA, or had better learn how field the ball.
  17. Wonderful Twins fielding, that was as much of a curse as the bullpen. In the last game Jeffers had make sure no one forgot how lousy it was, while Simmons did show in the last game how good it could be, with the right people on the field.
  18. And runs and games, so change it.
  19. Yup. They blame the pitcher for a wild pitch but Jeffers is the reason they get away; he chased a lot balls this season a GOOD catcher would have blocked. The Announcers said same.
  20. Jeffers defense is not major league level and the Twins NEED defense.
  21. No their fielding ability like an old man with a bad knee.?
  22. Tanking , hmmm, sounds like a tactic a street-hustler would use, and have known one first hand, a rather sleazy tactic.
  23. Yeah like Celestino, Larnach and Rooker that will really bolster the line-up; good grief.
  24. Sadly it was not Jax's last inning.
