  1. Correct, I guess I should've been more specific to the baseball ops side of things. There is no real plan there because the main theme is about cost-cutting not about winning games.
  2. Even then Falvey didn't leave until January 30th. You're getting ready for ST at that point. The franchise is completey rudderless at this point.
  3. Wait...you mean changing virtually nothing other than the manager didn't cause wild changes to the way the organization operates? I'm shocked sir. Shocked I say! Also...the answer is obviously Rocco. You should follow along better.
  4. This is a good article and what I appreciate being pointed out is that the team seems to recognize that they don't play defense at a high enough level but their actions over the last 9 months have been the polar opposite of a team trying to fix that problem! We added a bunch of corner IF/OF types with limited mobility. We have a sketchy middle infield. Almost zero team speed. And, maybe worst of all, a bunch of guys that have been moved around that dont' appear to be very good at being moved around.
  5. The only thing that might have actually belonged on this list is the Pohalds selling the team. Maybe we'll be so bad that they'll bail? Can one dare to dream?
  6. Having 6 left fielders is the same as having none.
  7. All good points. I think your prediction had a legit basis. This team's process continues to bewilder me.
  8. I hope you didn't go to Vegas with that one. Hit some, miss some. First "this looks like an actual rebuild" move.
  9. Maybe QB3 is designed to do exactly that?
  10. I agree, I still don't like giving up on a player this young at this position. They better be right about this if indeed they go this route.
  11. What a crafty post. To the larger conversation on this thread:
  12. Beating a dead horse here a bit, but I think this is just amazing. In the worst way possible:
  13. There does seem to be a personal issue. My guess is KOC hates the immaturity.
  14. I also would argue they looked at the "games missed" stat for JJM and Murray and decided to sign Wentz as insurance against another Brosmer start.
  15. I am shocked by those two contracts. I envision Epenesa as a 5 technique and a pass rush guy from the inside.
  16. Sure, but it's been three pretty subpar years. I think the shine is off that player. Either way, the value delta is ridiculous.
  17. Waddle and Pittman are pretty similar players the last three years. And Waddle has had Tua most of that time while Pittman was playing with the corpse of Matt Ryan, a literal grandfather, and Gardner Minshew through most of it. I see those dudes as pretty similar. Waddle busted into the league like a rockstar, but he's been pretty middling for awhile now.
  18. How in the blue hell does Michael Pittman only get you 20 spots in the 6th round and Waddle gets you a 1st and a 3rd?
  19. A few guys I like: Jihad Ward and DJ Wonnum both know the defense and likely come cheap. AJ Epenesa is a solid rotation guy. Greg Dortch or Jahan Dotson at WR
  20. It sure seems like Smith might be coming back right? I agree we need to draft one but maybe that changes it from being a Day 1/2 need to a Day 3 need?
  21. I thought, for a guy that had never played there before, that he handled it pretty well. An offseason of being that guy, figuring out protections, etc. and maybe we have that guy. It does mean we are perilously thin at OL depth then.
  22. I thought he was ok at center. They definitely have more needs than they have picks though.
  23. Right. Allen was hot garbage against the run but the man did get an interior push. At this point it feels like Smith is back at safety and this team is investing a lot of this draft at DT with positions like RB, C, WR, CB, and (hopefully) LB.
