Also, maybe this feels hyperbolic as I read it....but does it feel like we have more "worst loss I've ever seen" type finishes happening lately? The Giants/Broncos. Vikings comeback against the Colts. Patriots in the Super Bowl against Atlanta. And I feel like I'm missing some from just this year alone.

Pack up the thread.....anyone who thinks the Pohlads aren't shuffling money around and crying poor to fund their other failures can just try and answer this excellent post. I'll add one more thing to it - if the Pohlads would truly like our sympathy and appreciation for their willingness to fall on the sword and lose money......prove it. Show us your books. Put in black and white the valiant effort you've been putting up at your own expense. We wouldn't have to speculate and we would all carry this wonderful family out on their shields for their brazen self sacrifices. Somehow....I don't expect that will happen. -

According to Spotrac we would only take on 26M. It isn't even his deal as much as the bloated spending spree from last year.

I guess I'm wondering if it's even possible. From what I can see you'd have to cut Hargave, Allen, Kelly, Hockenson, restructure Jefferson and O'Neill, probably Darrisaw too, trade McArthy and Addison.....and you might still not make enough ground on the cap to make it happen. I'm sure with some shrewd moves they could (And I'm in on that) but it might be a lot of shuffling. And would only further emphasize the need to actually hit on some draft picks.

My 8 year old rather matter-of-factly a few weeks back said(I think this was the weekend where the Wild, Wolves, and Vikings all lost? Gophers too if I remember): "Why do you root for so many teams that stink dad?" Stupid birth geography.

Burrow would probably have some leverage....Vikings should definitely be aggressive. But I have zero clue how they afford him with this FA stuffed, older team.

So the conversation centered on Jim Carey's "The Grinch". I find that movie gross and a really ugly bastardization of the story. It's overly long. Full of unnecessary, jarringly out of place humor. The makeup on the Whos is disturbing. It's just awful. I much prefer the 2018 version or the original. (Carey also has, by far, the worst version of A Christmas Carol) My top 5 - Home Alone, Klaus, Elf, Muppet's Christmas Carol, and probably National Lampoons. My hot takes are Carey's Grinch is awful. Both Lennon and McCartney are responsible for two of the absolute worst songs on rotation during this season. Christmas movies need to do more than take place at Christmas time - Die Hard and Hook don't count. Gremlins does. Spirited was the biggest wasted potential of any Christmas movie I've watched.

We overlap a lot! I will say more later but I just wanted to express two huge points of agreement: "Simply Having" is pure trash. McCartney's fame has forced us all to endure that travesty. I am also not A Christmas Story guy. It's fine. Quotably meh.

Some friends and I were talking holiday movies and the opinions on a particular film generated a spirited discussion. So before I bias the sample by identifying it, I am curious if you fine folks have a Top 5 "must watch faves" and a bottom 5 "I don't see what others see" movie dregs of the season. Go!

Agreed, but I think the WR move happens the year after when we trade Addison. If we decide to deal Addison this year, then that position skyrockets up the board of need. I hope they find a way to keep Nailor around actually. Be nice if we played Felton so we could find out if he's a dude or not.

I don't think KOC will even use a RB if we take one highly. But I know Flores needs a dude to suck up blockers in the run game. And he needs someone on the outside so that Murphy and Metellus can go back to the roles they thrive in. (And a Smith replacement) I just don't see the needs on offense to be as old nor as limited in team control as the defensive side.

I think I'm in a different direction entirely, though I see your vision. If Caleb Downs is available....I take that man. If he's not I want to deal down a bit and target guys like Sonny Styles, AJ Haucy, Mansoor Delane, CB McCoy, etc. I want CB, S, LB, and NT this year.

Even if he isn't, I'm not sure this is the draft I want his replacement. I saw a good game manager on Sunday...that's a start. I'm hoping this lets us reload on young defensive players. A true NT. One or two CBs. A new safety. Linebacker. I'd be good with a TE and a Center on offense too, but NT, safety, and LB are strong classes this year.
