  1. I like this Luke Keaschall fella. It may be time to find him a real defensive home sooner rather than later, I don't think he can stick at 2B.
  2. Austin Martin is starting to look like a player.
  3. I'm really hoping for a trade down. I think we could deal back 10ish slots, still get a good player, and pick up a chance at another good player in the 70-90 range.
  4. I love the discussion on this. I'm curious to see where many of these threads wind up. It is really refreshing to be talking like this about major league baseball again! That said.....tell these bozos there are no challenges in the first three innings unless there is an exceptional situation the bench communicates about. Watching some of these dopes blow a challenge on ball two in the first is a new sort of pain I'm not ready for.
  5. I'm really happy to see the results from Taj so far. My issues with the trade deadline were not centered on who they traded (other than Varland. That will never make sense to me) but by the type of return they focused on. I wanted athletic position players at positions of need. (1B, LF, 3B, CF, SS) Instead we got a bunch of seemingly same-ish guys that we already have: limited profile as a regular, left handed corner guys, quad A types, or players a long ways off. The deadline might prove really fruitful, I wish it seemed less forced and more surgical to build around the guys on their way up. But who knows? Maybe Keaschall, Jenkins, Culpepper, E-Rod will be happy to have a rotation loaded with Abel, Taj, and Rojas.
  6. How bad is the rest of the AL that this lineup is 2nd in the league in runs scored? I'm floored by that.
  7. Hypothetically dealing relievers for position players and starting pitchers is a really, really wise strategy. Of course, you shouldn't feel compelled to deal EVERY reliever you have, but it's a sound strategy.
  8. Another great start by Bradley. Great at-bat by Jeffers that was the difference in the game. My god why is this team allergic to the bases being loaded?
  9. I appreciate the attempts to modernize the product. Now modernize your budget.
  10. You know what the worst part of all of this is? The team isn't even young. They're closer by average age to the oldest team in the league than they are the youngest.
  11. Taj looks like a lot of fun. He just needs 3-4 solo homeruns every game and we'll be good.
  12. So Kirk's deal is essentially 1/20M, but it is signed as 5/172M. Is Kirk really just trying to be the all-time Free Agent? We hear about it as a joke, but I'm starting to think he actively is trying to hold that crown as a thing he cares about.
  13. Yeah, given the weapons and line in front of him, his production is pretty mediocre. And trending the wrong way. I like you and @Vanimal46's comps.
  14. Honestly...as a guy who pounded the table to draft him way back when....is he even a "good-ish" quarterback at this point?
  15. You're not wrong the the run production is the biggest issue, but this defense is going to lose the team a lot of games this year.
  16. I'm at the point where I'm hoping for a trade down. We have too many holes and the talent from 15-45 is pretty similar.
  17. The regular positional players remain my greatest frustration with this franchise. We simply do not put good enough players out in the field on a daily basis. Bullpen and rotation have their issues, but the lineup and defense remain the central problem.
  18. To add to this...by my eye the Orioles had zero intention of pitching to him. One of the problems with having a soft lineup like the Twins have is that it is easy to pitch around some of our guys. It sure seemed like that was the treatment Wallner was getting this series.
  19. Wallner has a great eye but he's leaning on it a bit too heavily it seems.
  20. Pfft, I was, like, 64% sure Mr. Bradford was wrong the whole time!
  21. It's crazy to me how often the same people who say "Spend money to make money" can ignore this advice in virtually every situation. Investment reaps rewards when done well. We've lost this thread on everything from public education to free agent baseball deals. What a time to be alive.
