  1. Agreed, especially guys like Styles who are part LB and part DB in all the best ways. I think that type of player is going to see a comeback. Van Ginkel is the new wave.
  2. I agree on Allen, Burrow, Stafford, Mahomes, Maye, Hurts, Jackson and Herbert. And I put Hurts at the bottom of that list as basically the peak form of game manager. Prescott is a good QB, but something just doesn't add up with him. Darnold is going to prove the Vikings right this postseason. Hell, he tried to against the Panthers but they're a 5 win team playing above their weight class. Mayfield has had a really troubling stretch. I like him (advocated trading Cousins for him here back in the day!) but things have gone badly for him. Love? Please. I thank the football gods every day that the Packers hitched their wagon there. Purdy? Don't let a god awful Bears defense fool you. Yes, his play caller is elite but he's not that guy. He's even proven that. Stroud? Might be. He's coming around. Dude needs some help. Daniels is too scrawny. Love the talent, he won't hold up in the league IMO. Lawrence....who the F is this guy? Some weeks he looks like the worst QB contract ever. Others like the second coming of Josh Allen. I don't know what to think of him. Nix - watch him get toasted in the playoffs. Goff - I think McVay trading him said everything you need to know. So yeah...I'm with @Vanimal46 - handful of SB caliber guys.
  3. Styles might just because of the general undervaluing of LB plus a deep LB class. But the other two? Yeah, zero chance unless Woods has some major character red flags during interviews. Downs might go top 5.
  4. I like these 3 guys but a few things: Downs was an outside shot when we had the 9th pick. Zero chance at 17. Woods isn't a NT. He's more of a Kevin Williams than a Pat. Freaky athlete though.
  5. Don't be confused - these are TERRIBLE defenses. These teams have feasted on a 4th place schedule. Complete frauds.
  6. He shouldn't. That team was still playing for him while they had any talent on the field.
  7. There are a ton of frauds with gaudy records in the NFL this year. Broncos - frauds. Bears - frauds. Eagles - frauds.
  8. Thoughts: * This win sucks. We're now in jeopardy of losing the 4th place schedule and picking smack dab in the middle of the first. Blech. * Turner looked ferocious around the corner today. * Flores has a pretty simple gameplan for the Lions - blitz and force Gibbs to stay in on pass protection. Kills their outlet pass and makes Gibbs block (which he's not good at) * The Detroit offensive line ain't what it used to be * Please sit JJ another week. We NEED to lose next week.
  9. Sf has had significant turnover on their line over the years. They blew their roster up (especially the trenches) and here they still are. You can coach around some OL deficiencies.
  10. Shut him down. 0-2 is the way!
  11. He does what KOC needs to learn to accept: to chameleon his team to whatever he has available. Win how you can win, not how you want to win.
  12. I understand that...but now that it's Brosmer we just throw all caution to the wind right? :) On that note....there is no way you put McCarthy out there if he couldn't even hold a football on Sunday. He's done. Shut him down.
  13. Pass rush has really ramped up the last few weeks. I don't think that's by accident - Gink is back, Greenard was playing like a man possessed, and Dallas Turner has really come into his own. (A couple sacks claimed by other dudes were started by his pressure yesterday) Jonathan Allen was even visible yesterday in the pass rush! Pretty impressive and the last 6 games haven't been a cakewalk of QBs by any stretch.
  14. Sadiq falling to the end of the first is a near impossibility IMO. The league has figured out how hard it is for defenses to match up with the modern TE. He's going high.
  15. If McCarthy is hurt again....0-3 is the best scenatio left.
  16. It might have been a back missed their assignment because he went out on a swing. But by what I see on replay they set up a bubble screen. I assure you....any QB for any team that holds the ball for more than 2 seconds on a bubble screen is going to get killed. (JJ was worried about the ball being batted down, but then turf it) https://www.giants.com/video/brian-burns-forces-fumble-tyler-nubin-recovers-returns-for-td-giants-vs-vikings-highlights
  17. What was that play call on the fumble? We called timeout to get the ball back....then we ran the ball.....took our time.....and then ran a high risk screen pass? What was our goal? If it was to move down the field and score, why were we taking our time? If we planned to just run it out....why didn't we just run it again?
  18. My god we need a nose tackle.
  19. I don't know how anyone on this baseball site can't see the beauty of a league that has mastered parity. We got two absolutely fantastic games within two days of each other. It's the drama the NFL manufactures constantly because their sport has thrived with competitive balance. And yeah...I'm already laying my bets against the Niners and Bears come playoff time.
  20. I mean, if we're serious about accountability and "half measures" then the performance of the team under his direction should have him fired already. "Hot seat" shouldn't even begin to describe it.
  21. If the Pohlads are openly saying this isn't the right time to invest 50/60M (in other words: we're still rebuilding).....then why wouldn't you put at-bats into guys like Roden? As @chpettit19has said - this is a floor raising move. But if you hit a "floor raiser" 4th....you didn't raise any floors. You gave more at-bats to a demonstrably "meh" player. Raising the floor is for guys who hit 8th and play defense. Not guys who play 1B and will almost assurdly be hitting in the top half of the lineup. I'd rather watch Roden flail with the hope of upside than sign up for Rondell White: Chapter 87 that we longtime fans have seen far too many times before.
  22. Joe was between jobs ruining another industry in their umbrella. And as we all know, the best ability is availability!
  23. Silly me, I thought Rocco leaving might have allowed some folks a chance to stop drowning themselves in context-free, poorly thought-out positions. You know, come up for a big, deep breath of logic and reason. And yet.....here we are.
