Nice win Twins. Too bad about Lewis. Looks like we have another Buxton situation where you can't depend on him to play. For being such a great athlete he sure is hurt alot. He's been in a terrible slump. Oh that's right he doesn't do slumps. We'll whatever a 2 for like 32 stretch is now called that is what he's been doing. If he's down for another extended period it's time to give Lee a look see.

Ryan has been very good. An ace? Not yet. He needs to do this for the whole season. But he has been their best starter this season. Lopez has been a disappointment so far. The Twins definitely need Lopez from last year if we are to be serious playoff contenders.

This is Why Byron Buxton is Worth His Contract
Whitey333 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Another Buxton gloating, and over- hyped and excessively dramatized story. I'm sorry for him that he's been injured so much. We never got to see him full time. We will never know him in that way because his biggest statistic in 9 years is games missed. Yes he's oʻn a hot streak right now. It's about time! But we all k ow that he is close to another 2 for 25 stretch that will highlight his ability to flail away at pitches low and away. He sure gets a lot of kudos for such a part time player. Twins Daily could do better by being a little more authentic and honest about Buck. -
Nice win Twins. They pulled it out even with another strange lineup and managerial decisions by the great Rocco. Go Twins!

Very questionable le managing again by one of the poorest managers the Twins have ever had. His 10th inning decisions alone qualify him for that. As I've said many times his stick with the process and not worry about the results costs the Twins several games each year. Ot pinch hitting for Vazquez in the 10th is sheer lunacy. But I'm not surprised. He gets out managed a lot.

Nice win. Twins continue to beat up on sub .500 teams. Hope we can beat seattle at least 2 of 3 this weekend. We are only 12-21 against teams with winning records. Buxton is hot. Let's enjoy it. His long part time career with the Twins indicate he's about to go into a 2 for 25 slump. Go Twins!! E

I love Lewis and his potential as a full time player. But I would not extend him at this point. We already have a part time " superstar" in Buxton. Lewis needs to prove he can stay on the field and produce. It would be prudent fir the Twins to wait. Tying up too much money on a part time player could hamstring the team.

Byron Buxton Joins an Elite Group in Twins History
Whitey333 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
It's sad what happened to Buck with all the injuries. It's just as sad to piece together the many fragmented seasons and declare him one of the best Twins ever. That does a great disservice to the many Twins players throughout the years that actually played full seasons. It's also sad that we will never know if he would be a career great player without the injuries.- 10 replies

Nice win Twins! Let's take the series Thursday afternoon. God I miss Provus on the radio broadcasts. Attaberry is too hard to follow. He spends more time talking about other things unrelated to the game. It seems the calling of the game has become secondary. I wonder if he realizes there is an actual game going on? Part of a radio sports announcers job is to paint a picture of the game in the listeners mind. All you get with Atterberry is a blur.

Simeon Woods Richardson is Chasing Down Marty Cordova
Whitey333 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Great job thus far SWR. I think your good season will continue throughout the rest of the season. At this point you are ROY worthy. But I don't think SWR will win it. Keep up the great work SWR- 35 replies

I understand the satire and sarcasm. With Kepler it's well worth it. He has a history of nagging injuries that tend to keep him on the bench. The fact that this FO repeatedly let's him get by with it is incredulous. All it does is hamper the Twins. They needed to send him on the IL several days ago. You can't help but question his desire to play. He needs to go after this season.

Final: Diamondbacks 5, Twins 4: Comeback Thwarted Late
Whitey333 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Not looking good for the Twins at this point. Simply put Cleveland is just a better team than the Twins. Although our great radio announcers keep blaming bad luck, bad umpiring, and bloop hits that always seem to go against the Twins. It's obvious to them that the Twins never get those bloopers. After today Cleveland plays 4 against the free falling Royals then e against the hapless White Sox. Twins need to stay afloat. This is such a Jeckyll and Hyde team.- 42 replies

This is a fairy tale. First just the finances don't fit the direction this club is headed. Mor importantly is they don't have enough in the tank to help this club. They should be pitching for the geriatric team at the nursing home. Get serious

Brooks Lee Needs to be in Minneapolis: NOW
Whitey333 replied to bighat's topic in Minnesota Twins Talk
It's always hard to project a prospects abilities to play major league baseball. The Twins and Rocco make it harder. The argument that there's no one to remove from either the 40 or especially the 26 man roster is ridiculous. Lee deserves a chance. Maybe he isn't ready idk. Maybe he is. The Twins are 8 games above .500 and 7 games out of first place. They are 12-21 against teams with winning records. If the FO doesn't feel there is room for improvement then we have a long boring rest of baseball this year. Plus calling up a prospect and having him play 3-4 days per week due to Roccos extreme penchant for left/ right platooning doesn't do a prospect much good. Nor the Twins. -
To me the best moves would be to dump Margot and farmer. Bring up Lee and Wallner and let them play regularly. Funderburk obviously is not a major league calibre pitcher. We've lost too many prospects in some recent trades and haven't gotten much of anything in return.

Twins are giving up an awful lot of runs lately. I also would prefer Lee and Wallner in place of Margot and Farmer. This FO is so stubborn and unwilling to admit mistakes and move on from them. We have a manager in Rocco that lacks common sense and managerial Instincts. I sure miss Cory Provus on radio. The broadcasts have become a soap opera atmosphere. Do they realize there is actually a game going on?

Right from the start it was apparent Rocco didn't care if they won or lost. To not start two of your hottest hitters and the put in a seldom used guy at shortstop and an almost never use second baseman it's totally ridiculous. I don't like Rocco and never have. Last year it happened that he had both Correa and Buxton off at the same time. He said he didn't know how to fix that. Really?? I'm sure Jackson will clear waivers again. He will then go to st. Paul and be recalled by the Twins again. Like ive said before if we don't have anyone better in the organization than Jackson then this team is in trouble. God I miss Corey Provus on the radio. So eone should let Atteberry know that there is an actual game being played on the field.

Sloppy game but it happens. Twins leaving Staumont to pitch after he walked three and hit a batter is confusing. How he lucked out of it is also confusing. Rocco would have been roasted if that had been the win ING run. Things happen. They lost, oh well. Hope they get the game in today. Gosh do I ever miss Cory Provus on radio. Atteberry is so hard to follow.
